The classic American-style rimfire rifle, this gorgeous 457 has a 24.8 inches barrel with no sights and is meant to be topped with a scope. Its turkish walnut stock has a high, flat comb and a classic checkering pattern. Like all of our 457s, it has an 11mm dovetail milled into the top of its receiver for attaching scope ringmounts. If we were to pick one thing that our previous rimfire platforms were lacking, it was an American-style push-to-fire safety – something Hunter’s Education instructors and 4-H shooting coaches have begged us to incorporate for years. Though that was the most obvious change, we also took the opportunity to tweak a load of small things at the same time. In addition to the receiver-mounted, push-to-fire safety, we chopped almost an inch of length from the action and slab-sided it to reduce its footprint and weight. The stamped bottom metal of the 455 is gone, swapped for a classy two-piece interlocking system. To make scope fitment easier, we ditched the 90 deg bolt rotation in favor of 60 deg, allowing for larger ocular bell diameters with lower ring heights. To top it all off, the 457 now features a trigger adjustable for weight, creep and over-travel. With the exact same swappable barrel system as the 455 and the same reliable polymer magazine system, the 457 is without a doubt the best rimfire platform we’ve ever fielded.

I picked up this rifle the other day and shot it yesterday. Really good accuracy with factory range ammo. On the factory adjustment, the trigger is very nice. My only problem is with Cabela's description that the receiver is drilled and tapped. The receiver only has very nice starter holes that are not drilled through or tapped. I bought it anyhow because the quality seemed superior to Savage and Ruger models available at this store and I spent the extra money for scope rings to mount on the 11 mm dovetail.

Good looking, hefty, excellent safety mechanism. My only suggestion would be to have an interior part of the removable magazine colored orange so it is easier to see.

Still too new to fully appreciate. Definitely a tack driver. The quality you get with this gun is amazing when you consider the price.

Fired from a 6" revolver, the Magtech .44 Remington Magnum ammunition performed perfectly every time. From 25', single action timed fire groups were consistently under 1.5" spred. Double action rapid fire was consistent with the best results I've achieved using much more expensive ammunition. Although the advertisement says it is primarily for target shooting, I wouldn't hesitate to use this round against dangerous game or for self-defense; the semi-jacketed softpoint is a powerful hammer with g... If you own a desert eagle, I would highly recommend these, no jams, and no grit in my barrel or bolt seat

First time shooting a Magnum 44. It was great. Definitely a lot of kick but the recoil was manageable and the shots were all accurate!

Have a 455 also....this rifle tops it. A most impressive Piece! It will go up against a Ruger 77 when the gunsmith finishes his re-barrel. Very happy with this purchase/staff in Helena.

Mine is chambered in 17 HMR and shoots extremely well. The craftsmanship is excellent, fit and finish is superb.

I own a CZ 550 and a CZ 455 so I was familiar with the quality and accuracy of CZ products. I can tell you that they have outdone themselves with this .17 HMR rifle. I can pick the spot on an 8 inch gong that I want to hit at 100 yards and nail it nearly every time. Everything about this rifle is top drawer. Get one, you will have no regrets.

High quality, accurate rifle right out of box - good trigger, good stock design, free floated barrel, high quality every thing. Attached photo shows 50 yard group with 4 touching in same hole with 1 out 1/4 inch using Federal TNT .17 HMR ammo, the best for accuracy with this rifle. !00 yard groups measure less then 1 inch. Zero at 50, 1 inch high at 100, & 8 inch low at 200. A real good 50-125 yard rodent rifle. goo

Upgraded from CZ 455 to CZ 457. Same great finish and fit. 455 is a tack driver. I’m sure the 457 will be as well.

This gun is well built. Love the quality and craftsmanship of the gun. Sighted in with vortex scope and shoots ten shot groups with in 1” at 50 yards. Would highly recommend this gun for Small game shooting.

I love this Rifle! I put a Vortex 4x12 50mm scope on it and it drives Tacks at 100 yds. My only complaint is there was only one 5-shot magazine clip with it. When I went to CZ internet store they didn’t have any clips available for a couple of months.

This a great rifle! Mine is a .17HMR. I wouldn't have believed a rim fire rifle could be this accurate 5 shot groups at 50 yards (off a shaky rest) can be covered with a nickle. Can't wait to try it off a proper bench! I bought a Vortex scope at the same time (3-12 side focus) that pairs very well with this rifle. I had some no-name rings on hand, and the whole combination works very well together.

I really like the wood stock but do wish it was gloss blued and not flat black. Otherwise it looks fine and shoots great

Love this rifle. I'm a varmint shooter and have had it out after small vermin. Deadly out as far as the wind will let you go. Stay within the boundaries of the cartridge and it works fantastic.

The gun is very smooth. Premium quality. I have used twice hunting squirrels and it is dead accurate.
