The classic American-style rimfire rifle, this gorgeous 457 has a 24.8 inches barrel with no sights and is meant to be topped with a scope. Its turkish walnut stock has a high, flat comb and a classic checkering pattern. Like all of our 457s, it has an 11mm dovetail milled into the top of its receiver for attaching scope ringmounts. If we were to pick one thing that our previous rimfire platforms were lacking, it was an American-style push-to-fire safety – something Hunter’s Education instructors and 4-H shooting coaches have begged us to incorporate for years. Though that was the most obvious change, we also took the opportunity to tweak a load of small things at the same time. In addition to the receiver-mounted, push-to-fire safety, we chopped almost an inch of length from the action and slab-sided it to reduce its footprint and weight. The stamped bottom metal of the 455 is gone, swapped for a classy two-piece interlocking system. To make scope fitment easier, we ditched the 90 deg bolt rotation in favor of 60 deg, allowing for larger ocular bell diameters with lower ring heights. To top it all off, the 457 now features a trigger adjustable for weight, creep and over-travel. With the exact same swappable barrel system as the 455 and the same reliable polymer magazine system, the 457 is without a doubt the best rimfire platform we’ve ever fielded.

1 year agoAwesome 22LR put a vortex 2x7x32 crossfire on it and with in 15 minutes I'm shooting 5 round groups in a coke cap at 50 yards. I shoot cci but fill this will shoot any just as good.

1 year agoAmazingly accurate right out of the box. It requires a scope, which is why I bought the rifle since my eyes are not as sharp on the Ironsides as they were. I can hit a rabbit at 100 meters

1 year agoVery nice gun, tolerances are nice and tight, no slop in the bolt. Wood is beautiful and has a nice feel!

1 year agoI picked up this rifle the other day and shot it yesterday. Really good accuracy with factory range ammo. On the factory adjustment, the trigger is very nice. My only problem is with Cabela's description that the receiver is drilled and tapped. The receiver only has very nice starter holes that are not drilled through or tapped. I bought it anyhow because the quality seemed superior to Savage and Ruger models available at this store and I spent the extra money for scope rings to mount on the 11 mm dovetail.

1 year agoGood looking, hefty, excellent safety mechanism. My only suggestion would be to have an interior part of the removable magazine colored orange so it is easier to see.

1 year agoStill too new to fully appreciate. Definitely a tack driver. The quality you get with this gun is amazing when you consider the price.

1 year agoEasily the best feeling .22lr I’ve ever felt. I have JM Marlin model 39s that shoot and feel good but nothing like this! The only bolt action .22lr bar none.

1 year agoI've bought four of them in five months. Two Scouts, one LUX and now a Synthetic. All in .22lr You won't find a better quality or more accurate rifle for the money.

1 year agoI have 5 CZ 457s. For the money, they are the most accurate and reliable firearms . They are built like the Rock of Gibraltar and can be handed down from generation to generation; they are that good

1 year agoI’ve only used the website once, but the gun was promptly delivered. I’ve also only shot the gun at one tournament so far. It took just the first target to get in line and then it was off to the races! I hope I’m not getting ahead of myself, but really looking forward to shooting in the tournament tomorrow.

1 year agoThe body color is nothing like on the website and the barrel is not stable. It moves around and detached to the body.

1 year agoBeautiful looking rifle. Nice fit and finish. Have not shot it yet so can’t comment on that. Bolt is a little stiff so hopefully it’ll move more smoothly after some use.

1 year agoI've been in search of an accurate 22 Magnum for years...I've owned several high-dollar weapons that were huge disappointments. I've always been aware of CZ's reputation and history, but had never actually owned one. Not only is this a tack-driving rifle, it is also beautiful.. tiger-striped Turkish walnut and the feel of a larger caliber weapon. Half inch or less groups at 100 yd...one of the best purchases I've ever made and I've made a lot of them.
