Formerly known as the 1895 GBL, this rifle is the first alloy steel, blued, Ruger-made Marlin rifle. Chambered in .45-70 Govt., the Model 1895 Guide Gun features six-round tubular magazine with a loading gate located on the receiver; soft rubber buttpad; positive, push-button, cross-bolt manual safety and traditional half-cock hammer and laminate buttstock and forend with sharp checkering.

2 years agoI haven’t had a chance to shoot this rifle as of yet. I am putting a scope on it for hunting. I have the trapper model as well and it shoots great. Much softer recoil than I was expecting. I love what Ruger is doing for Marlin right now. I was never a Marlin fan but these are really nice rifles.

2 years agoMarlin delivers wonderful craftsmanship. The rifle is lighter than expected. Shoots great. Sighted in the rifle but already ordered a muzzle break to take the edge off recoil. Not then rifle's fault, 45-70 is a kicking round.
