I’d like to start off by saying this is a great gun for the price but definitely has a few things I didn’t like so much. For one the choke leave a lot to be desired, swapped this out with a kick gobbling thunder .670 shooting 3.5 #5 longbeard xr shells and it’s now lights out past 50 yards, picture is at 25 yards. Secondly and perhaps the most concerning to me was my red dot ran out of elevation right as I got it to where I needed it to be. This wasn’t an issue considering my POI was where I needed it but had I needed to go more I wouldn’t of been able to. I even went as far as to put a Holosun 507k off another gun onto this gun and same thing, also ran out of elevation on the red dot so I know it’s not the red dot It’s just the milling on the gun. Also I didn’t get the cover plate for if I ever decided to take the red dot off, had to call mossberg and get them to send one along with screws. All in all I’m pleased with my purchase but the red dot running out of elevation definitely has potential to be a major issue with these guns.

First off i have owned many guns with recoil. Gun is perfect for the money. No issues with feeding or shucking shells. The narrow combination will give you a beating on your cheek bone. Been in pain for 3 days. The recoil on the shoulder is not bad . I have talked with a few people who own a 835and have said the same thing. Be carefull

Gun took almost 3 weeks to show up to store. Cabelas also charged me and repaid me 3 times for the gun. 835 is as solid as can be.

Slide broke after first round. Plastic on forend that holds the ejector arms broke off. Cost me $70.00 to send to Mossberg with insurance on a $700 gun. Asked Mossberg to cover shipping since I just bought the gun three days prior, and they told me they don't cover it. I could understand if the gun was old but this was a brand new gun. Very disappointed.

This shotgun is a Turkey hunting machine, the red dot works fantastic and makes zeroing in on a long beards head fast and easy. Kicks like a mule with 3.5 turkey loads. Light to carry and quick to handle. You never feel the kick when you have a big old Tom in your sight.
