great shotgun for the price, just feels right when shooting. If you do your research for this shotgun it is very close almost the same as the 500 series

I'm extremely pleased with my Mossberg Maverick 88. I unfortunately can't find a shorter barrel than this 28" at this time. However, the longer barrel and stock choke are great for higher accuracy shooting. I learned how to take it apart and put it back together within ~15 minutes, with a small amount of practice. It's that easy to master. I have put an ATI T3 pistol grip stock on it and a TacStar rail mount & side saddle on 'er.

I haven’t got to shot a lot yet but it’s everything I expected it to be.The fit form and function is great. I would recommend it to anyone needing a good shotgun.

Very nice piece, especially for that price. Be sure and kinda manhandle the pump after a shot. But all in all a stellar weapon.

Fantastic budget 12 gauge. It runs any and all ammo you feed it, is fairly accurate, and has a good build quality. The forend is less than amazing, but not bad. It's light, so there's plenty of recoil, but the built in recoil pad is sufficient. Can't beat it for the price!

Great shotgun!!! Easy to load, with minimal recoil. Even my wife where able to handle an shoot it. Very pleased.

I got a Mossberg Maverick 88 12 gauge pump action 20 years ago for Christmas. I love it I have used it a lot with NO problems. I bought one this year for Christmas present 20 years later and this one seems to be of the same quality.

Great shotgun for the money. Shoots good patterns. Holds up well in the brier patches. Just wish it came with a shim kit.

Is what it is a mossberg 500 nuff said. Plastic pump and stock, but that’s why it’s affordable and branded as the 88. Five stars anyways all around. The internals are solid and well made. I’ve fired several boxes of target and buckshot loads with no problems what so ever. I replaced the modified choke with accu improved cylinder however. Much more versatile. That would be my only gripe, other wise great gun.

Great value. Very well built. Easily upgraded. I used to own a Remington 870 Wingmaster. This is not as well built. But it is built to very good quality. It is a keeper.

Great gun, it’s quite a bit lighter weight than most others I’ve used which makes it kick slightly harder but I’d rather have that than a heavier gun. Great for duck hunting

I love it. My first shotgun and it couldn't be happier, shoots great feels good in the hand not too heavy at all and the best part is it's incredibly easy to maintain and take apart.

I give this firearm five stars for a beginner shotgun. The price is unbeatable; the brand is extremely reputable. It’s about 7lbs… so it’s not too heavy. It has double sights, which makes aiming quite easier than aiming with one sight would be. I am happy with my purchase and would absolutely recommend this shotgun to a friend.

Great all purpose shotgun. I’ve ran more than 500 rounds through it with no problems. My 15 year old used it for trap shooting before his trap gun came in. Great in the field great for home defense.

A great choice for practical use, home protection and sporting on the farm. padded stock and removeable barrel for easy cleaning. A great piece of AMERICAN ingenuity!! Thanks Mossberg!! Was not aware of duck hunting rule dowel in magazine to reduce capacity to 2 shells. Easy fix, take barrel off point pump downward and shake until dowel is visible, then mag tube will accept 5 and 1!! WILL DEFINITELY BUY ANOTHER!!
