  • Dual extractors, twin action bars, positive steel-to-steel lockup and an anti-jam elevator to provide trouble-free operation
  • 12 Gauge 18-1/2 inches security barrel and 28 inches vent rib field barrel, both with bead sights
  • Black synthetic stock and forend, blued receiver and barrel metal finishes, and 6-shot capacity
  • Maverick 88 pump actions use a cross bolt safety with a red safety off indicator
  • Maverick pump action barrels are interchangeable with Mossberg 500 accessory barrels (within gauge and capacity) and maverick choked barrels use Accu-Choke tubes for maximum flexibility in the field

Great gun! Love the short and long barrel combo. Had lots of fun shooting clays with it. My only frustration with it was having to figure out to take out some bamboo stick so that I could fit the rated 5+ in my gun instead of the 2+ with the stick inside. That stick confused the heck out of long time gun owners as well

Looks good, feels fair. Haven’t shot it yet. The action is tight and a little stiff. I’m sure it will smooth out with use.

Bought this as my first shotgun ever, took it out to the range and ran a bunch of #8 birdshot as well as some 00 buck, #4 buck and even slugs thought both barrels. I’ve gotta say I was looking for an inexpensive starter shotgun and this fit the bill perfectly. My 60 year old mom even shot this (her first time shooting a gun ever) and she fell in love with it.

have both mossberg 500 and maverick 88 features on mossberg 500 are better wood stock and fore-end, steel action vs aluminum, less felt recoil. I think maverick 88 is definitely great too especially for pricing.

Fun! For someone who will rarely hunt with a shotgun, it's fun to shoot and easy to use/clean. The defense barrel option is great as well, as it's on the ready for whatever happens.

Price very reasonable and it was available. Nice with both 18.5” and 28” barrels. Security and Hunting.

So far so good. I've only shot about 100 rounds but it works great. FYI - one thing I didn't know until later was that there is a dowel in the magazine tube to limit it to two or three rounds for hunting. If you want more capacity for home defense you need to remove it.

A fantastic combo, great price, I have taken it out several times, works very well. There are so many accessories and combinations for this weapon it will be in the family for many years to come.

Haven’t shot it yet, but looks like just what I wanted in a home security shotgun. Sportsman’s Warehouse process of picking up and registering the gun was quick and professional

This is a great deal. I have two 590's and a 500 and while the quality of parts and finish are a bit less than on the 88 the function is just as good. You'll have to get used to the safety placement as it's on the trigger guard. The cost of the two barrels if bought separate is equal or more than the entire price of this package. And the barrels fit pretty much any Mossberg 12 gauge pump. Go for it if you can find one.

Purchased as my first gun ever. Perfect for what I need. I wanted a gun for home security and this fits the bill perfectly. Simple to use and seems to be good quality. Plus it allows me to switch barrels and try my hand at a new hobby and go hunting. Perfect for my needs.

Great shooter! Have 250 rounds through it without a hiccup. Easy barrel exchange. Kudos to Sportsman's for keeping prices very reasonable in 2020!

Nothing fancy, simply does what it's supposed to do. The two-barrel combo pack gives it even more versatility.

This is the best buy because of the combo barrels, it is like getting a free shotgun. The value of the barres exceeds the cost of the combo.

I intended to purchase a Mossberg 500 combo, but then watched the reviews of the Maverick 88. For the price it is a great value. With the two barrels it was an easy purchase. The action was on the tight side when shooting the initial 6 rounds with it failing to eject a casing. It loosened up after I put 25 rounds through it. Another box or two of 12 ga. should have it operating smoothly.

Like to two barrels, makes this two guns in one. Not used it as of now, trust it will do very well when used. I am pleased.

Magazine barrel was so OVER loc-tited, that the magazine barrel feed was also locked in place. Would not feed ANY shells. Made the shotgun essentially useless. Spent about two hours and countless YouTube videos to figure out how to fix it. Had to use a propane torch and a stove range to melt the factory loctite, and basically rebuild the shotgun.
