2 years agoI bought mine 7 years ago at Bass Pro in the 270 combo. Was on a budget and was on sale in my price range under 300.I know cheap price cheap product not in this case.Truth scope trash, rifle excellent buy.I put a Bushnell 3x9 dusk till dawn scope on it and has been true ever since.Have taken down several deer with it and several rounds at range and never an issue.Love the smoothness of bolt and trigger pull comfortable.I use Winchester Extreme Point 130 grain and never an issue. In my opinion Mossberg did it right and for a great price.5 stars on gun, combo scope no good.

2 years agoI bought this rifle in 30-06 and it has been hands down the worst bolt action rifle I’ve ever used! Took it out of the box and put a vortex optic on top. And used Hornady superformance, and Winchester whitetail hunter In several different grains. And have yet to get get decent accuracy out of this rifle. I tried doing a small stock job to keep it a little more consistent, when I removed the but pad screws the plastic threads came out with the screws. And the removable mag well has already cracked making it a pain at times to get the magazine in without falling out. i bought this for a cheap deer gun I don’t feel comfortable shooting at anything further the 150 yards. Don’t waste your money!

1 year agoI bought this gun in 7mm Rem Mag in 2017. It was never very accurate but it was acceptable for a while. I didn't expect sub-moa for the price. After a couple years I couldn't shoot a one foot group with it. I emailed Mossberg but they didn't care because the gun only has a two year warranty. After taking the stock off I found out that one of the stock bolt holes has a very thin wall that had broken under the recoil from the magnum caliber. I emailed Mossberg again to show them, they still didn't care.

1 year agoWorks like it should. Shoots submoa right out of the box with factory ammo. I have one in .308 and love it.

1 year agoPretty good for a budget rifle. Well worth the $300 I paid for it. I purchased it in .308 Winchester. Put on a DNZ scope mount and a Leupold VX-3i 3.5-10 on it and it shoots pretty well. It is not a submoa rifle but with 150gr Federal blue box lead free rounds (to save the condors) it shoots 1.106" three round groups at 100 yards consistently. The fluted barrel does heat up quickly so no more then three rounds during break in and wait 10 minutes between each group to let it cool down. the bolt is a little sloppy but for the price it is ok. The magazine on it definitely could use improvement as it feels sloppy and cheap since it is plastic. Either way for a hunting rifle it will do as it is needed and put meat on the table. I haven't had any issues with the stock as other people have but I do plan to install a Boyds AT-One aftermarket stock on it soon.

1 year agoWe purchased this in .350 Legend with the intent to hunt deer in Ohio. So far the rifle has been accurate (under 2" groups at 100 yds.) with 5 different loads and sub 1 MOA with the Winchester Deer Season XP 150 gr. ammo. Age ranges from 12 to 70 have appreciated the light recoil and adjustability. It's one shot/one kill so far on Ohio deer.

1 year agoOrdering the rifle online was very easy, and it came quickly. When i picked it up the employees were friendly and extremely helpful. While the scope was being installed another employee helped me select ammo. This is the second firearm I've purchased from Bas Pro Shop. The first experience was equally satisfying.

1 year agoExcellent entry level 30-06 of nice quality. Accuracy has proven spot on post bore siting and gun range siting. Highly recommend.

1 year agoTook the Patriot to the range today for the first time. Took 5 shots to zero in at 100yds. Minimal recoil and great quality for price paid. Very accurate gun!

1 year agoOverall this rifle was very clean. Light weight , and a good fit for me. Very affordable for a Mossberg with outstanding value. I'm sure it will do great for the state of Ohio hunting season.

1 year agoBought the Patriot in .308 for elk hunting. Good rifle, reasonably light but sturdy, surprisingly accurate for a $400 rifle with a 22" barrel. I was able to shoot sub MOA groups at 100yds once I added a Vortex scope. Only questionable thing about the rifle is the bolt which operates a little loose and pops open too easily. This doesn't affect the ...Read More Read more about review stating Great entry-level rifle

1 year agoWe have a .243 wood stock patriot with vortex scope , and my son killed his first deer at 75 yards with it. That guns stock is to long for him, So I ordered him this youth model and Put a sig whiskey 3 4x12x50 scope on it. He loves it. After I sighted the wood stock gun in, I let my son shoot it, he said it recoiled about like his 410…his second t...Read More Read more about review stating Son killed first deer with patriot

1 year agoNot a bad package for a budget bolt action. Fluted bolt, fluted barrel and wood stock. Trigger is good, action is ok, fit and finish isnt the best. Don't expect a Sako and I think you'll be happy. I would choose this over a Ruger American or a Savage Axis in this price range.

1 year agoMounted my scope and was able to consistently hit the target with nice groups. Shot out to 100 yards and was pleased with the results.

1 year ago1st thing I did was lighten my trigger to 2lb. Then I glass bedded the metal free float insert to the plastic stock. I reload and stuck the bullet out as far as I could for the magazine. There is a lot of free bore in chamber. I did manage to sub MOA

1 year agoSo far the only ammo I have was Winchester Deer Season 150 Grain. My best group at 100 yds was 5 inches. I expected much better. The scope included was worthless so I used a Leopold 3x9 VariXII. I shot from a dead rest so it was either the gun or the ammo. I will try other ammo when I can get some.
