Mossberg Patriot Predator Cerakote/Strata Camo 6.5 Creedmoor 5+1 Bolt Action Rifle – 28046

Love mossberg shotguns so i tried their patriot. was not disappointed! love the stock. has great grip and looks great even after being dragged through the woods (i am only 5'3 so the stock was dragged through all the brush - lol). very accurate. shot my first deer with it last season. pleasure to shoot.

Bought the Patriot in .308 for elk hunting. Good rifle, reasonably light but sturdy, surprisingly accurate for a $400 rifle with a 22" barrel. We have a .243 wood stock patriot with vortex scope , and my son killed his first deer at 75 yards with it. Not a bad package for a budget bolt action. Fluted bolt, fluted barrel and wood stock. Trigger is good, action is ok, fit and finish isnt the best. Don't expect a Sako and I think you'll be happy. I would choose this over a Ruger American or a Savage Axis in this price range.

Mounted my scope and was able to consistently hit the target with nice groups. Shot out to 100 yards and was pleased with the results.

1st thing I did was lighten my trigger to 2lb. Then I glass bedded the metal free float insert to the plastic stock. I reload and stuck the bullet out as far as I could for the magazine. There is a lot of free bore in chamber. I did manage to sub MOA

So far the only ammo I have was Winchester Deer Season 150 Grain. My best group at 100 yds was 5 inches. I expected much better. The scope included was worthless so I used a Leopold 3x9 VariXII. I shot from a dead rest so it was either the gun or the ammo. I will try other ammo when I can get some.

I haven't been to the range with the rifle yet but it looks and feels good .I mounted a scope on it and am ready to try it .

I am enjoying this rifle so much, nice look very accurate and well balanced. This rifle with the right scope is a good addition to any collection. I very highly recommend it.

I own more expensive makes and models than the Mossberg Patriot...I wanted to try a mossberg....But overall very happy with the gun shoots amazing....pretty durable cerakote..mag latches in good all and all good gun for the price...
