I am happy with the Patriot 270 with the included vortex scope I purchased last season. Very very accurate rifle! The only concern with the rifle is the bolt...the bolt is flimsy and wobbles and is definitely not smooth. I was out the other nite and came across a small buck and went to load and the dang bolt made noise (due to being loose and not smooth) when trying to load a round from the clip. Did not scare him but could have...and he was too small for my liking. All other aspects of the rifle are terrific! Scope is great and the rifle is accurate once dialed in!

I bought this unit as my first rifle last Christmas in .270 my first impressions were great. It was affordable, looked good and felt solid(sorta) the first problem I ran into was the first day I took it out. The factory rings were cheap and it wouldn't hold a zero. That was no big deal as I got some new ones and it fixed the accuracy problem. I went back to the range a few weeks later with my new bipod I just bought and it threw the accuracy way off. The stock is so flimsy in the front that in my books that front swivel is a (sling only swivel) I took the bipod off and the issue went away. During these few trips to the range I noticed another few issues. One being that the bolt was so loose in the open position when you would go to cycle another round it would go off kilter and bind up. (not what you want to happen when you see a deer) and another big problem was right before the camber where the barrel attaches to the receiver there are threads and sometimes when the bolt would push the cartridge out of the magazine the tip of the bullet would catch on these threads and smash up the tip of the bullet and bind up the action. So at the end of the day all of these problems pushed me to sell the rifle after this deer season. my new weatherby .270 is now on its way. If I could go back I would have waited and saved up for a better rifle in the first place.

I have owned the .243 for 4 months now and I am very impressed. I can get a 1.5" group at 200 yards with factory ammo (federal 75 grain varmint & predator) the barrel has a black finish that has withstood bushwacking and scratches. also got soaked in the rain for an afternoon recently and didn't have any issues with the waterproof scope I will likely bed the stock at some point just because it is a little weak in the forend area but it has accomplished exactly what I was hoping for as a hunting rifle

I purchased this rifle in .243 with the Vortex scope. I had mainly bought Savage and Remington rifles previously and usually used Bushnell 3200 or 3500 scopes so I was a little apprehensive on the Mossberg and Vortex combo but the price was too good to pass up (on sale) and I had read a lot of good comments about both. I was not disappointed. With very little adjustment I was shooting 1 inch groups at 100 yards and the clarity of the Vortex scope was fantastic, in fact I found it easier to focus than the Bushnell's. The only negative I have on the riflr is the cheap plastic magazine, but for a relatively cheap accurate hunting rifle you can not go wrong.

I picked this gun up a couple years ago, dropped 4 moose and 4 deer no issues at all, nice tight groups

Groups vary from just under a foot to four inches at 100 depending on the load. Tried Winchester, Remington and Barnes but something that horrible will not get fixed by a better load. Maybe with a nicer stock and a glass bed it would shoot better but by then just buy a Weatherby or Remington or anything else and save the hassle. Love my mossberg pump but this rifle is a dud.

Bought this gun last year in the cerekote .308 and here are my personal findings. First off I'm no expert, but you get your money's worth with this rifle. It's good out of the box, but the trigger pull was a tad heavy. So do yourself a favor and follow the instructions and lighten it up. Second, it is very picky on its ammo. I reload and tuned my rounds. here what I found works best. Winchester brass, 44gr Varget powder (or 4064), 168gr Nosler BT hunting, Federal gold primer. This for me was the best so far after a lot of testing. Third, The stock is good enough for hunting within the 100 to 300 yard range, however if you want to see some improvement, bed your stock. Otherwise swap it our for something stronger. Overall construction is decent. You'll get about a 2 inch grouping on average right out of the box once you have sighted in at 100 yards.

All components of the rifle are quality made with the exception of fastening (screws/treads) of stock to the barrel. Groupings are within 1" - 1 1/2" on 50 yds. No malfunctions so far.

I've had this rifle (in 30-06) for a year, shot many groups. It consistently puts 3 rounds through a toonie at 400M. Coached some other guys on it hitting 1 inch gongs at 150-200m, no problem. If you know what you're doing, this thing will not fail you. The synthetic stock is great for bush bashing, and the front sling swivel will accommodate an inexpensive bipod relatively easily. Plan to take a deer and maybe a moose this season - I know it won't let me down.

I bought it a month ago and used it today for the 1st time. I was very happy with the performance. The vortex II scope is excellent and the rifle shoots consistently well. No jamming, no issues with the bolt. I wish it would come with 2 mags instead of one.

I bought the 6.5 Creedmoor a few months ago and it is a great rifle. it has some kick back but not a lot. but enough for you to still have a lot of fun.

Love love love my patriot .308 win! I bought it early last year on sale for $5.49. the scope is great for accurately shooting 100 yards. Got my first moose with her this year. Zero action issues. I would definitely recommend this rifle for any beginner hunter like myself. Thanks Mossberg

Bought the Patriot in 270 a year ago and have since put 60 rounds through it. Vortex scope is clear. Accurate and reliable. Would definitely buy again but I'd rather get it in 308

I've had this in 270win for 5 months now and shot about 80 rounds. I was looking for a good deer/moose rifle and couldn't be happier. Love the action, im impressed with the crossfire 2 vortex scope. Added sling, bipod and cheek riser. I've been shooting up to 325 yards with 2 inch groups. Be sure to add loctite and recheck scope rings torque and you're good to go. If you're looking for a first all around rifle and don't want to spend to much but still get a good/decent reliable setup this set is for you.

Cabela's was supposed to have bore sighted it, they didn't. Went through a box of ammo trying to get it sighted in. Then tried tightening down the scope.

Great Combo, the vortex scope is a great value, very clear and once sighted in makes a great setup with the Creedmoor.

picked one up for a friend to use while hunting with me, and now I'm thinking about retiring my Remington 700 for myself. great scope, easily sighted. took down a mule deer from about 150 yds with no problem. removable magazine makes reloading fast and easy, especially if you get a spare. i had doubts about the 6.5, but it's more than capable for deer.
