2 years agoJust bought this Remington. The fit and finish are great. I like the dark walnut stock, and the lasers checkering looks great. The action is nice and will only get better with use. I have an old Wingmaster and this gun is not as nice as that old gun—but—still a darn nice shotgun for the money. It’s a DEFINITE improvement over the 870 Express.

2 years agoNice to have a new Remington. Solid and easy action. Solid firearm all around. Not a lightweight at 7.5 pounds but makes recoil management acceptable. Definitely not the lesser quality Remington 870 Express of some years ago.

1 year agoSo close but missed the target. Certainly an improvement from the express as fas as the action smoothness is concerned, but the stock is rough and the checkering is extremely crude.

1 year agoWell made. Remington did a terrific job in attention to details for a great looking and solid performing field shotgun.

1 year agoBought this gun a few days ago. Very reminiscent of the 870 Express I have from the early 90s and a much better firearm than the Expresses of more recent years. Looking forward to using it for small game and turkeys come fall

1 year agoThis is my home defense gun! Extremely reliable and bullet proof ( no pun intended). Many aftermarket parts to put your own cool factor on this shotgun.

1 year agoFor almost fifty years an Ithaca 37 kept watch over hearth and home, but now my new Remarms 12 gauge has the job! I couldn't be more pleased. All the best to you Remington.

1 year agoGrowing up, I've always wanted a 87 but since Rems bankruptcy, these things were next to impossible to find. Finally under a new owner, RemArms is back! Bought this beauty a few months ago as my first Long gun. Stock this shotgun is simply smooth and beautiful! With tons of aftermarket parts avaliable I have since went ahead and added a Remington 870 Mag Extension had to use a XS detent swage to take down the detents (which isn't advisable from remington) and added a X marked +2 rem mag extension and a Carlson 18.5 barrel (barrel had slight issues with feeding/ejecting, prob go with different brand barrel next time) Definitely will be picking up another!

1 year agoThis is a great shooting gun. I love the ribbed barrel. And the walnut stock and grip. This gun is compatible to the classic 870 wing master. Would recommend this gun to anyone. Not high priced and a great purchase

1 year agoNice shotgun, handles and shoots well. I am still doing the patterning with each choke and load that I have, but so far, working well.

1 year agoI recently purchased the SuperMag version from another vendor, and I was surprised and a little disappointed. First the pros: the wood stock feels warm in your hands and has a sense of familiarity and rigidity. The plastic trigger guard while feeling cheap, is nice to use in cold weather compared to metal. And as a Remington, you'll be able to find many aftermarket parts. The cons: the action is a little stiff and I've had many frustrating jams. Thankfully, I've been able to fix it in-field, but it's frustrating watching birds fly away. The painted front bead is a little outdated, and the gun didn't come with a shim kit. A tool isn't included to remove the action pins either. I'd appreciate a small compartment to hide such a tool in the stock of the gun, maybe it could be twisted to remove from the stock. Or it could be included on the magazine cap like a Benelli. Frankly the Benelli supernova has a better action and has an easier disassembly process. But so far the Remington is patterning better than the Benelli with a bigger variety of ammunition. Overall I like the fit and feel of the Remington better, but the Benelli has a better action if at the cost of a slightly worse pattern.

1 year agoBought the new Remarms 870 in 20ga. First problem was when locked in battery if you twisted the forearm the action would pop open and jam up. The gunsmith said the action bars had a weird twist but he fixed that problem. Then I found that when the last shell was cycled from the magazine into the action the mag follower would jam and stick in the receiver opening for the magazine. I bought another mag spring and that problem is fixed. It’s probably fine now but it never should have left the factory with these issues.

1 year agoSmooth action out of the box, great looking gun, you can tell that Remington has stepped up their quality with these new 870's

1 year agoI purchased this in June and loved everything about the way this shotgun feels, looks, and shoots....until I was shooting my slugs from it. It consistently shoots 2.75'' and 3'' rifled slugs at 50 yards 4'' low and 4'' to the left. I understand slugs are not meant to shoot pennies at 50 yards but this consistently off is not good. So basically at 50 yards I would have to aim for the middle of a deer's spine to get a vital shot. I shot 40-50 slugs myself and with the help of a friend to confirm

1 year agoGreat looking and handling pump shotgun. Remington Model 870 reliability you can depend upon. Beautiful looking walnut butt stock and handguard. Metal fit and finish with stock is excellent. Glad to see Remington once again producing quality firearms.......America expects no less.

1 year agoIt a nice looking shotgun but my biggest complaint is that the stock is way too dark and very plain looking

1 year agoThe firearm came to the store in pristine condition and transferring/background check was timely. I would buy from Gun.com again!
