1 year agoExactly what I wanted. I am at the tail end of the break in period and am thrilled with how the process is proceeding. I ordered an extra magazine but screwed up and ordered a 12 ga magazine. GaG customer service has credited my account while I wait for the 20 ga to be available. Great service.

1 year agoI read nothing but good press on this gun. So I bought one. The gun feels good, appears to be well made, looks cool. Went to the range loaded the factory clip with 20 gauge light load and fired worked great. Next load jammed. This went on for about 10 rounds - fire, jam, fire, jam. I would not buy this gun. It's not so bad that this gun malfunctioned that can be fixed. But I bought it for home defense. I would not be writing this if my home was invaded, since my gun jammed after one round.

1 year agoStarting to like it now... Must follow the manual for break-in Tons of problems with cycling till about 60 rounds and by 80 or so it ran flawlessly. Very pleased to see it cycle like it should. Makes it fun to shoot

1 year agoStill breaking it in. Like it so far. Have a few other Rock Island firearms. We'll built firearms. Shoot great. I'm sure this one will fall in suit.

1 year agoI bought one of these after much research on the VR 80 and VR 82. Went lighter on purpose and am very happy I did. I sent Armscor/Rock Island an email question and got a call back from one of their gunsmiths who not only guided me to add a tactical sling and mounts but also walked me through the best break in ammo and length of time to do so. He also advised to lock the bolt open for 30 days prior to use to weaken the spring. He also discussed the use of the two chokes and I was thoroughly

1 year agoGreat feel.recoil is minimum....smooth cycling and very easy to change the gas system and choke. Only real issue is the mags are a bit stiff when released. One almost has to be yanked out with force.

1 year agoThis gun will need extensive break in to be reliable , I manually worked the bolt 1000 times by hand and left the bolt locked back for weeks , very reliable with 1350 FPS ammo . Low brass not so much . I like it but it’s not reliable out of the box . Very well made.

1 year agoI have the VR 80 already and use it for competition. I bought the VR82 to save a little weight. Its in the testing phase currently. It has been more reliable out of the box than the VR80 with no tuning at this point. Round count fired is limited so far. 20 round mags are available as well as plus 2 extensions. In hot weather the VR80 has deformed shells when the gun is hot, I am hoping the VR82 is better in that regard. Time will tell.
