The RÍA 1911 is awesome! Great price and very fast delivery from the great people at grab a gun. Took the 1911 to the range and had to feeding issues but think it has something to do with the magazine. Other than the feeding issue it fired great, very balanced and hardly any recoil. The sights are very well made and better than what comes on some more expensive 1911s. The trigger is crisp and the pull is very light. I recommend this 1911 to anyone who wants a 1911 at a low price with quality.

I'm not going to say that this is a good pistol "for the money". To me that insinuates that I should have spent more money and got a better gun. But this RIA is a great gun, no matter how you measure it, Rock solid build, accuracy is spot on, and a joy to shoot. No complaints at all but I will invest in CM or Wilson mags. But I did that for my safe queen .45acp Kimbers and Colts as well.

Functions well. its an all arounf nice weapon but if I were to pick on weak point it is the Texture of the finish. The machining is not really smooth.

I've wanted a 9mm 1911 for a long time. I bought this one based on price and review. I've got around 1000 rounds through it now and I have to say I made the right choice. It's reliable with the right mags and it shoots better than I expected.

I have several Dan Wesson 1911's and have owned Kimber, Colt, Springfield Armory and Ruger 1911s over the years. The Rock Island Armory 1911 will compete favorably with all with the single exception of the Dan Wessons which are in a class by themselves. The Rock Island was tight, well built and works perfectly. With a break-in of 500 rounds of a variety of 147, 124 and 115 grain ammo I had exactly one FTF and that was in the first 35 round! Accuracy was excellent. The only mod I've made was to … Read More

This is an excellent and highly accurate 9mm. I shot 50 rounds so far. All 5 groups were placed within a 1.8 inch pattern at 7 yards. Was going to buy the TCM model but I didn't like paying the extra cash and having to buy/reload the ammo. This gun is definitely a keeper. If you need a 9mm 1911 and can find one of these pick it up. It'll be worth the investment.

Good Quality- could be a bit lighter, but it is a quality side arm and great for the range and the farm

Pleasantly surprised by the overall quality and shoot ability of this firearm. Fit and finish much better than one would expect of a gun in this price range. Good balance and shoots on point. As good as my Springfield range officer but almost 300 dollars less. Great value.

I have always wanted a 1911. This was a great price and all the features i wanted. Have not fired it yet due to CoVid.

Nice 1911 overall. The fit and finish was better than I expected at the price. Trigger is nice out of the box. I had a couple feeding issues out of 400 rounds on the first trip to the range, but otherwise it functioned flawlessly and shot extremely accurately. I did have a challenge with a Wilson Combat magazine. The right-hand feed lip on the magazine was longer than the one on the stock mag. This caused the bottom of the slide to catch on the feed lip. I was able to take a tiny bit of … Read More

I have 6 1911 9mm pistols and this is easily my second favorite behind the Bul Government that was 35% more expensive. I put 100 rounds through it every week and am never disappointed. For the money, you absolutely can't go wrong with this pistol. Highly recommended.

I like the pistol but out of the box it had feed issues with the factory mags, Springfield Armory mags and Wilson Combat mags. The non-RIA mags wouldn't even feed two rounds. It liked the factory mags best and eventually I was able to run 100 consecutive rounds through it without any failures to feed. However during that 100 rounds the trigger failed to reset twice. I was using multiple brands of 115 grain brass cased FMJ ammo. I didn't want to have to send the gun back to RIA so I had a

This is a great shooting handgun. Good balance, feels great in my (larger) hands but my 13 year old can also shoot it well so I consider this gun the perfect size. It's been a little difficult finding mags that fit perfectly in this thing, which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. RIA, you coulda shipped with more than 1, just saying. Otherwise, I love this handgun.

Fit and finish is lovely… Had some feed issues on my first trip to the range. Bought some snap caps to load into the mags to get the springs broken in, can’t wait to go back to the range! I also bought some Ed Brown 9 mm 1911 magazines to try out…

I've put about 500 rounds through this weapon so far. It's well made, tight and the trigger pull is outstanding. I immediately added the Hogue wrap around rubber grips with finger grooves. The factory grips look great but are not all that comfortable. **It should be noted for anyone that buys one though, there is an issue that I found. The guide rod on this model (and maybe some others) is a two piece item. The first time I fired it (150 rounds) I noticed that the guide rod had loosened up

I think this is my new favorite, wish I would have bought this for my first 9mm instead of a plastic striker fired double stack pistol. I have two of the browning 85% scale 1911s in 22 and 380, Love those little guys. I'm glad to see my smallish hands like the full size version of the 1911 in 9mm also. Next is a 1911 in 45 ACP when ammo is available again. initial impressions: Bought this about a month and half ago, Finally cooled down enough for intial new gun cleaning and first time

The gun comes ready to use out of the box. Just wipe down excess oil and start shooting. Maybe a little lube on the slide will ease operation. Shot 400 rds w/o an issue. The only minor issue I have found is with the trigger edges. They are a little sharp and will need to be rounded.

Great sights and smooth action. Factory mag so far fed 5 different loads no problems. So far have had to return two Wilson and one mag gar mags as they had issues. Two others are working fine. Trigger pull steady but could use polishing on edges to take the edge off. Happy with the purchase

My expectations weren't high, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this firearm. The magazine doesn't seem to be super great, but so far it has been reliable. The slide is smooth, and while the trigger has more take-up than I prefer, it has a really nice light and crisp break. The sights are great. I was not expecting serrations on the...Read More Read more about review stating Great gun for the money
