2 years agoI like everything BUT the magazine . It is hard to get in and is very cheaply made. The gun is 3+1 so not the greatest amount of ammo but is smooth and enjoyable to shoot . I plan on whitetail hunting in MI .

2 years agoOverall it's a decent lightweight rifle for the money. The AI style magazine is all right, a good improvement over the rotary style mags previously used in these Rugers. Wished Ruger would incorporate these rifles to accept all AR style mags instead of the cheap plastic junk they use in the 223 and 308. I noticed the action sits to one side in the stock. Haven't had a chance to remove the stock yet to determine the cause and haven't had a chance to get this out on the range. I do like the

2 years agoShoots and feels great but the free float forhand is not very rigid and adding a bipod could allow it to touch the barrel affecting acuracy

2 years agoThe rifle is great, the stock leaves much to be desired though. Swapped the stock out almost right away. Rifle shoots 1.5-2.0 moa with ball ammo but those tighten right up with higher quality ammo to around 1 moa or less.

2 years agoGreat gun but the magazine is plastic and makes noise if you touch it when trying to raise your gun to aim at a deer. Other than that There is nothing else wrong with the rifle.

1 year agoI sighted this gun in thinking a 2" pattern would be respectable. I mounted a Nikon 3 x 9 x 40 BDC on it and found I could hold a sub 1" group at 100 yards. Incredible. I doubled up on hearing protection with plugs and muffs. I also found the recoil to be that of a 20 gauge with bird shot. Very fun to shoot. The Finish on the barrel looks a little sketchy and may not be something to write home about but if you want a straight shooting 450 rifle at a decent price this is it."

1 year agoHave only had this out a few times but shoots really well. Kicks much less than others I’ve shot, very close to my .243 don’t know if that’s due to the compensator, but doesn’t jump off target. Really like the creakote and Camo combo. Like the ability to add extended mags, and like that the Mag well is not too obtrusive. So far I’m very pleased with the gun

1 year agoNo complaints. Love the trigger. Set it to lowest setting (3#) and its perfect. Recoil is very mild with muzzle break. Sounds to me like muzzle break directs a lot of sound back toward shooter. Good groups with Winchester 150 grain PP’s and XP’s. Shot a box thru it and no issues. I’ve shot it two times in the woods with two clean kills. Couldn’t ask for better.

1 year agoGreat rifle if your just starting out or if you want to reach out to 1000 yards. Absolutely love this rifle in 308 with a good vortex scope I can shoot 1/4 most at 100yard

1 year agoPicked one up early last year. Add a bipod and a Primary Arms scope. First shot was on paper and dialed quickly. New gun, New scope and on the 7th round I just decided to see how good a group I could get. 6 or 7 touching within 1.25 inches @ 100 yards. Then flew off to Texas and dropped a large Nilgai in his tracks.

1 year agoBought it for my 14year old and just got to shoot it. He loves it and it has hardly any kick to it at all!

1 year agoGreat rifle for an amazing price. Little heavier than a tikka but shoots relatively the same. Bolt needs some lube out of the box, but a great gun nonetheless.

1 year agoI have finally gotten to sight it in and work on breaking the barrel in. After ten rounds of sighting in I was shooting 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards. To me this is a predator rifle with cerakote. Love those Ruger Predator rifles, very accurate.

1 year agoExcellent rifle, especially for the price! Highly accurate, high quality construction. Excellent stock pattern and coloration. Compensator is effective at preventing excessive muzzle rise while not being noticeably loud. Rifle is lightweight with most of the weight being from the barrel which also helps reduce muzzle rise. The rubber pad on the stock effectively reduces felt recoil and the rifle is comfortable. Trigger is excellent out of the box. A few criticisms though... Rifle takes AI

1 year agoGreat rifle and an inexpensive tack driver. I just finished doing a break-in and sight-in. On a sled, I was able to get 1.5” groups at 200 yards without really working at it. My avg the as 3” at 200 yards, again without really trying. This is a good rifle and very comfortable to shoot and carry. The fit and finish are beautiful and I really like looks. I’m heading out to the field this weekend for the true test of deer hunting. You can’t go wrong with this guy. Great job Ruger!

1 year agoTried and true. I absolutely love this rifle. Cycles smooth and has a lot of options for upgrades. Extra magazines are very easy to come by. Paired mine with a leupold and I have zero complaints.

1 year agoAnother great Ruger rifle! Shoots one inch groups out of the box, trigger is fantastic and it's affordable. You can't go wrong with Ruger American.

1 year agoCool rifle, good quality at a good price. I put a vortex diamondback and shot it at 100 yards. The recoil was very manageable thanks to the muzzle break, and it was accurate enough. I'm not an experienced shooter and was grouping about 2 inches.
