Ruger American .308 Winchester Bolt Action Rifle, Black – 6907

I am a gunsmith. I have way more guns than I need. I just like them. This is my 5th Ruger American. I deer hunt religiously with 2 of them. I think these are the most reliable and accurate firearms for the cost on the market. From my gunsmith point of view they can’t be beat.

Haven't fired it yet, but I have the same gun in .223 Rem and love it. Lightweight, and easy to handle. Bought the .308 for elk hunting and look forward to using it.

I purchased this compact model for my daughter who is small. Yet needed a rifle for both deer and elk. Lightweight and fun to shoot. Great groups with a few trial reloads.

To ensure accuracy I reinforced the forearm and the butt of the stock. Less than 12 ozs. of added weight. Mounted a Hawke 3-8x40 scope. In short, I got less than 1" groups at 100 yards. Makings of a great brush gun...

I like the compact size, and American line. I've owned several Ruger firearms and American rifles over the years. I bought this one and got it home, went to oil it and rag after rag had orange surface rust stains. (? Poor storage at the store/warehouse vs poor finish? ) Nothing real obvious to the eye, but wondering about this finish and how it will hold up. Also, bought a new lcp max earlier this year that has some mild rust and pitting on the extractor out of the box. Not sure if quality

The only reason for not 5 is I wish the magazine was a little more firm and it doesn't have a threaded barrel. But all the actions work smoothly and it shot true. I like the two step trigger and the full 6"rail up top.

Great little rifle. I love the size of the rifle, great fit and lite weight. I've only played around with a couple of different loads, but both loads shot under 1" at 100 yards. I would highly recommend this rifle.

Great gun. Put a scope on it. Bore sighted it and shot a caribou the next day. Happy with my purchase!

Purchased specifically for blind hunting hog , topped it off with day night vision and sat at the bench, very accurate combination actually more then I expected or required for close quarter hunts.didn’t take anything off review for magazine as it is functioning well so far …

Light, quick handling, simple and accurate. great gun for the pick-up truck. topped it with my old 4-12 x 40 Burris scope, on target in 12 shots at 101yds.

Easily my favorite rifle in my safe. I normally shoot either my Bergara or my Tikkas, but this Ruger American compact has lived up to some high expectations. Do yourself a favor, and go ahead and buy you one. With a good quality optic, you won’t go wrong.
