2 years agoA very nice pistol. I have fired 200 rds thru it without a glitch. Nice size and balance. Very easy break-down and clean. The three dot sights are adequate. I'm hoping, in the future, for some after-market night sights. I am also hoping someone comes out with a better trigger kit. My only criticism of the pistol is the trigger pull. 6lbs with a lot of creep before breaking. Very hard to shoot tight groups with this kind of trigger. Trigger does not compare well with any of my Glocks. At … Read More

2 years agoGreat gun with less recoil flip than most other full size 9mm I own. Trigger is ok but could be produced with less sharp edges.

2 years agoRuger American 9mm duty is the Real deal. I've owned this shooter for over a year(500 + rounds) and prefer it to many more expensive firearms. Always reliable and easy to maintain. Very accurate. The barrel rise is minimal. Ergonomics = great. High value.Check it out it's a winner.

1 year agoGREAT full sized 9mm. I initially experience a problem with the trigger, heavy and not crisp. After firing about 150 rounds and dry figing it 600 to 700 times, problem gone.. (The reason for the 4 stars for quality.) All-in-all, it is the best 9 mm hand gun I've ever owned or shot. How can one go wrong? It has Ruger to engineering and service.

1 year agoVery happy with this ruger american pistol and the service from Grab a Gun. So far I have been through about 100rds with no issues.

1 year agoGREAT 9 mm pistol. I have other 9 mm, this is the most accurate, easy to clean & aintain and reliable of all. The only change I would like to suggest is the triggeer pull. The six pound pull is hard to keep on target.

1 year agoLove Rugers, own several. This is my go to, this gun is as solid as they come. I have the LC9, P89, and SR9 as well, this is the one I would choose if I had to pick one off the table to save my life. Don't care about the changeable grips or any of the cosmetics. This gun is solid, dependable and inexpensive. Would even chose it over my G19.

1 year agoI am pretty much anti Ruger. I bought an American after watching a torture test video online. It is a great gun. I liked it so much, that it became my every day carry. I have since bought two more. Take it from a Glock guy, this is a fantastic handgun.

1 year agoGreat shooter feels good in my hand and no thumb knuckle problems. The American has nice features and lines. Three easy to install grip sizes and two slick mags are a big plus along with fast takedown and smooth recoil make this pistol a great value . I find the weight of the fully loaded American not to be a problem and it can be carried best OWB or with the proper shoulder rig. This is a fine duty weapon and with 17+1 there is plenty of fire power. Anything else would be un-American !

1 year agoSo far, I've put around 800 rounds through the weapon. I should probably clean and lube it at some point. The only complaint I have is that the mag well opening could be flared a bit more. There has bee one failure to eject, when shooting with only my left hand. I'm assuming that's attributed to "limp wristing" the gun. Maybe, maybe not, considering how often I do that. There have been no failures to feed. The trigger is very good for a gun bought for $365+FFL. I'm glad I bought it.

1 year agoI've never owned a handgun before, and only fired a few dozen rounds before buying this Ruger. It feels great in the hand, fires well and on target as much as my untrained hand will allow, and is very reliable. For the price, I doubt you could do any better.

1 year agoThis is a great first pistol purchase. Easy to operate and control and (knock on wood) has never jammed up on me. For the value, I’d be hard pressed to find a better deal.

1 year agoNice shooting pistol. A little on the heavy side but well balanced. No FTF or FTE. Good range gun and home defense. Accurate right out of the box. I do recommend this.

1 year agoGreat customer experience. Condition rating was spot on and the deal was completed as expected. While I have not fired the gun yet it has been inspected and deemed to be in perfect condition. The Ruger American Duty is a well built full size hand gun.

1 year agoGreat gun; had a problem with the magazine release being too stiff on the 3.75 inch barrel .45 duty, so I went ahead and sent it to my FFL to polish the magazine feed ramp; while that one was in the shop, I figured I might as well buy the 4.5 inch barrel .45 Duty. Love it

1 year agoBeautiful gun. Totally balanced when you insert fully loaded mag. Haven't fired yet but looking forward to it.
