2 years agoLove this gun! Been a while since I fired a 45 and the recoil was no where near what I expected. Well made. The only issue is with the captured spring on the guide rod, won't stay captured. Ruger is aware of the issue and states they are working on a fix.Otherwise this is a great gun. Has fired everything I put through it.

2 years agoWell made. Can’t go wrong with Ruger. I have the Ruger Precision Rifle, Ruger AR and now now Ruger American pistol. Hope Ruger makes a sub compact version in 45ACP for EDC.

2 years agoI bought this pistol last weekend, and only have 1 range trip so far. It is very accurate, and very light recoil makes getting on target for a 2nd shot very easy. It feels really good in the hand, and points very naturally.I like the feel of the shorter magazine with the pinky rest on the bottom. Some of reviews i have read and watched criticize this model for weighing 4.5 oz more than the competition. Part of the reason is it has steel sights, and is very well made. I think that is part of

2 years agoI bought the 9mm version about 4 months ago and have been totally satisfied with my purchase so far. I've put over 2,000 rounds through it and so far the only failures were two FTEs with some cheap steel ammo that I put through it early on. Since then I've run all kinds of budget brass ammo through it and it's been flawless. The gun feels great in the hand, it's accurate, and the trigger is nice and smooth. I had one of the polymer base plates crack off of my mag and it was very simple to call

2 years agoI really enjoy the gun a lot! It feels great in my hand and easily disassembles so cleaning and oiling is a piece of cake. If it was a little heavier it would be perfect. Because of its lightweight construction, it kicks pretty hard when fired. That however is such a minor detail that I quickly forget about it once I've fired a couple rounds.
