Ruger American Rifle Black .30-06 Win 22-inch 4Rd w/ Vortex Crossfire II Riflescope

I took this rifle to the range and shot 20 rounds of the cheapest steel cased ammo that I could find. Straight out of the box, at 50 yards, the first 4 shots were all within 1 inch. In fact, 2 of the first 4 rounds punched through the same hole. Out of the box, the rifle shot about 6 inches to the left, but the elevation was right on. A little scope adjustment and I was hitting dead center at 50 yards. I will be taking it back to the range this week to see how it does at 100 yards.

This rifle is very accurate. My 1sr 4 shots at 50 yards was all within one inch, and 2 bullets shared one hold. Straight out of the box the scope was sighted about 6 inches to the left, but was easily adjusted to zero. The scope has held zero and the rifle is still fun to take to the range.

The rifle came with the scope not properly tightened in the rings, so I wasted a lot of ammo wondering why I couldn't sight in properly. More importantly, the barrel is supposed to be floated, but it touches the stock in two places and screws up my vertical aim. Now I'm going to have to pay to have it glass bedded just to make it a serviceable hunting rifle. The whole reason I went for this "out of the box" ready set up was because I didn't want all this hassle. Really disappointed in the purchase.

Love it. Straight shooter, smooth action, nice scope, great price. Only things I dislike: 1, the magazine is a bit flimsy. Ruger was great to replace the first one that broke on first use. No problems since. 2, the scope wasn’t tightened down enough upon arrival. Not a problem if caught before sighting in, I didn’t. Both minor issues that have been resolved. I expect to pass this rifle on. Love that it is quality and 100% American made.

Good quality at a great price. I purchased two, one for me and one for my son. Great shooter out of the box. The scope is out of this world. I recommend taking the time to learn how to range find with it. Well worth the price.

Unfortunately Guns.com sent me the wrong rifle, I am waiting to see how they are going to correct this issue. I would not take delivery of the rifle from FFL. Truly disappointed with Guns.com so far, we will see if they can redeem themselves.

I reluctantly received my Ruger American Predator from the FFL today. They had to clean the gun as they indicated that it was very dirty and dusty. The barrel and stock have rub marks from transport and or moving around a warehouse for some time. The box is comprised in several locations. I bought this gun to go hunting out west, so it may not get used a lot but it is still a nice addition to my collection. It’s a beautiful gun with excellent craftsmanship.

Well what can I said. Rugger American are well known for their accuracy. This particular riffle came in with Three - lug bolt with 70 degrees throw. Its a Good accurate rifle at a affordable price shoots groups sub moa at 100 yards recoil is not bad with the factory muzzle break, I paired it with a Vortex viper pst 5x25 50mm ebr2c scope, amazing combo, also have it in a 6.5 creedmoor and shoots the same way

Awesome firearm, clean smooth action. Highly recommend for those that hunt big game out west. Lighter than what I thought it would be, chose the Ruger model over several others because of the reputation of ruger guns.
