Ruger’s popular AR-556 platform is now available in the King of Modern Sporting Rifle calibers, the .450 Bushmaster. Whether you are hunting for medium to large game or wanting enormously powerful home defense stopping power, the Ruger AR-556 MPR will get the job done.
Features:
- The lower receiver is fitted with Magpul MOE grip and MOE SL collapsible buttstock on the Mil-Spec buffer tube.
- The handguard is free-floating for accuracy and the slim, 15″ length provides enhanced ergonomics and support.
- Flattop upper receiver includes an enlarged window for easy ejection as well as forward assist, dust cover and brass deflector. CNC-machined from Mil-Spec forging and Type III hard coat anodized for maximum durability.
- Bolt is machined from a high-strength superalloy, more than 50% stronger than traditional MSR bolt materials, and engineered with tapered lugs to support the large case head of .450 Bushmaster ammunition.
- The Ruger Elite 452 AR-Trigger is a two-stage trigger that offers a smooth, crisp, 4.5-pound trigger pull. It features a full-strength hammer spring for consistent primer ignition and a lightweight hammer that enables a 30% faster lock time over standard MSR triggers.
- Carbine-length gas system provides the most reliable function with .450 Bushmaster ammunition.
- Magpul M-LOK accessory attachment slots along the 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 positions with additional slots on the angled faces near the muzzle.
- Cold hammer-forged 4140 chrome-moly steel barrel with ultra-precise 5R rifling and black nitrided finish provides exceptional accuracy, longevity and easy cleaning. The 1:16″ twist rate maximizes accuracy with bullets ranging from 170 to 260 grains.
- Chrome-plated bolt carrier inside diameter and chrome-plated gas key inside diameter provide exceptional resistance to hot gases. The gas key is staked so that it will not loosen after extensive firing.
- Ruger muzzle brake is a radial port design that significantly reduces felt recoil and muzzle movement. The 11/16″-24 threaded barrel allows for standard muzzle accessories to be installed.

1 year agoThe gun is great the only issue I've had so far is the magazine that came with it. I had to tweak it to make it work and it's a little flimsy. I'm definitely going to purchase some better magazines.

1 year agoAccurate gun, well worth the money. Doesn’t kick as bad as a standard 12 ga but definitely louder. I paired it up with a leupold scope made for 450 bushmaster and am pleased with the combo. I will be testing out more next week as I sight it in at 200yds which will give me a true test

1 year agoRUns fairly well, some feed issues with 300 grain federal on the last round, switching to 250 grain hornandy to see if it’s The bullet shape or the mag. Pretty darn accurate with just a red dot at 100 yards. ThoRoughly oiled, clean before use.

1 year agoPurchased this back in January, and have put a coUple hundred rounds through it so far without a hiCcUp. It’s Giving me 1-1.5” groups at 100 yards. Harvested a large Russian boar with it Recently. Nice trigger, and Outstanding value for a buDget AR thumper!

1 year agoFactory mag would not "hand" feed a single round & it was tearing the crap outa the brass. Contacted Ruger customer service & they sent me a replacement. Second mag same as first. Sometimes they wouldn't even get outa the feed lips. Used pliers to bend feed lips up especially at the point where the round comes out. The firearm is outstanding and I mounted a bipod and red dot and this thing will hit a bulls eye at 200 yards without any trouble. 1 year agoJust received the Ruger AR556 MPR, pleased with the decision to purchase this gun. Shot it for the first time and it was enjoyable , nice weight , nice trigger and very accurate after a few sight adjustments. This is gonna be fun!

1 year agoMy son has a Daniel Defense AR and recommended this Ruger for me. I got a green dot scope because of my 71 year old eyes. This gun is extremally well made and the trigger is amazing. Can't go wrong with this one!

1 year agoI am not an expert but I would say we got great value for our dollar. The AR looks great. Appears to be made well. My drawbacks would be only one Magazine. Although it is a 30 round mag it would cost next to nothing to include a second one. No front sight. I know most use a scope I prefer open sights. Just my preference.

1 year agoThis AR-15 is the best value around. Good components for the price, 18' barrel for longer range precision. nice trigger. Just needs some kind of optic/sight.
