Browning’s AB3 Composite Stalker .300 Win Mag Rifle gives you legendary A-Bolt accuracy and performance in a value-packed platform. The AB3 Stalker combines a matte blued finish barreled action with a rugged matte black synthetic/composite stock to create a high-performance hunting rifle that won’t blow a hole your budget . . . and can take hard use of serious hunting conditions in stride.

The button-rifled barrel is triple-checked for straightness and interior finish and then air-gauged to ensure a consistent diameter throughout the bore’s length. The AB3 Composite Stalker barrel is individually finished with a hand-reamed chamber for tighter tolerances and more precise headspace.

A durable matte blued steel finish on all external surfaces minimizes reflection and provides resistance to corrosion. The rugged synthetic stock with molded-in matte black color and textured gripping surfaces can stand up to virtually anything you (or Mother Nature) can dish out.

First off its not a A bolt in anyway, but this gun is a wonderful deer rifle ! I picked it up on sale for 399$ and what a deal .it stacks shot after shot in the bullseye, its very light weight , smooth bolt and a decent trigger right out of the box, dont believe you can buy a better gun for the money and I own alot of guns.

This is a great looking gun with a good fit and finish. The trigger is nice and crisp and seems to be close to the 3.5 lb advertised pull. My biggest complaint is that the trigger and trigger guard are polymer but hey, all but one of my handguns are polymer and they're solid! The bolt is nice but it isn't a tikka t3. As for the important part: it's plenty accurate. I bought the 7mm rem mag and shot only cheap winchester power point 150 grn rounds through it resulting in about 1/2" groups at 100 yards. Makes a guy wonder how well it would shoot with premium match grade or handloaded ammo! Impressive!!!

I just purchased a new Browning A-Bolt III. I wanted a Browning but had been reluctant because of the prices. I bought the 270 Win, put a VXII 3x9x40 Leupold scope on it and went to the range. For the first trial I bought a box of Hornady Whitetail and Winchester ballistic silver tip both in 130gr. First the rifle review: trigger is really nice and smooth, butt pad is good and keeps the recoil under control, action is good but not quite as smooth as other Brownings I have owned. The accuracy: Now here is the outstanding news. I shot four groups after getting it zeroed at 1.3" high at 100yrds....Biggest groups were three with the Hornady Whitetail at .75", .33", and .33". Then switched to the Winchester silvertips shot one group. The first two shots were .3" apart with the third shot double holing the second shot..at that point, I put the rifle down walked away and sate and drank a cold drink...I could not believe the accuracy of this gun...OK guys this is a real honest report on the A-Bolt III from a regular hunting guy. I Know this is hard to believe but it is the truth. All shots were made from a rest but not a vice at a rifle range run by the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries....Good luck and good hunting....

Bought his for my son for Christmas. We ran 12 rounds through it to sight it in. 4 out of the 12 would not pull from the chamber without slamming the bolt forward to grab it. Back to Browning for repair.

I bought two of these rifles when Cabela's had them on sale and Browning was running a $100 rebate. I bought a .30-06 and a 7mm. They are nice guns and in my opinion they are the best gun for the $. I mounted Redfield revolution 4-12 scopes on each and they are tack drivers. Shot about 2 boxes through each and the guns have worked flawlessly. Not as nice as my X-bolt, but half the price. I also like them better than my Savage model 11.

When I went into Cabelas I had no intent of buying a new rifle. But with the 100 dollar rebate offered at the time this rifle was too good of a deal to pass up. I got the 7mm Rem Mag. and paired it with a Nikon Buckmaster. After breaking in the barrel following Browning's recommendation I was able to zero very quickly. For the 7mm rem. mag a bit more for recoil pad would be nice, but most days you are not going to fire 20 rounds. I'm 6' tall so I had to home engineer a cheek pad to line up with the scope. The recoil pad was for comfort and better length of pull. Browning spent time and money on the barrel and action. Where this rifle lacks, in my view, is the one size fits all ergonomics, which is easy to overcome. You would be hard pressed to find a better value in a rifle you will want to own for years.

I've bought this rifle a year ago. Love everything about it. Best bang for the buck. Just wish they made this model in a 338 win mag also would have one too

I bought this in wood finish from another store, outfitted it with a 3-9 by 50 redfield, and this setup it outstanding. Mine is in .270, the gun shoots great feels great when shooting and carrying. I recommend this gun to everyone, It is a great firearm that should retail for far more. I do recommend the wood finish over the composite thougg, worth it.

Purchased Browning AB3 at Cabela's in Hamburg PA when they first came out. Looked at this rifle in .30-06 Springfield. Figured it would be a quality product since it had the Browning name, it felt well balanced and had a smooth action with a decent stock and crisp trigger for price point so I made the purchase. Mounted a new scope on this rifle and boresighted at home like always. Took my brand new rifle to the range to get it sighted in but failed to do so. The rifle would not fire, was getting light primer strikes each and every time, all 15 rounds. Had to send the rifle back to Browning for repair. Rifle was returned saying "minor repairs made" but wasn't specific. The jury is still out on this rifle for me, didn't get a chance to attempt to fire the rifle since Browning returned it to me. Hopefully it works out but my initial impression was not good.

When buying a hunting rifle, do yourself a favor and look at the A bolt3. This rifle exceeds all expectations, smooth action, great feeling stock, and best of all it's a tack driver. I purchased a 308 cal. and it shoots anything well truly a great buy.

I bought this fairly new model in .300 Win caliber as an 'extra' rifle for bear hunting. It seemed like a solid alternative to comparable Remington's and since Browning seems to do all things well (for firearms), I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised with its performance; the weight and feel, as well as the bolt-action were what I expected but the trigger response was much better than anything I've experienced in rifles of this price-range. Build quality and fit/finish are what you would expect in a Browning product; very good, even though this is their low-end model. This is a consistent performer that gives a good return on its relatively low investment.

Simply AWESOME! If you want a great quality hunting rifle and not looking to spend over a 1000$ you won't find anything better. Far better than all other rifles in comparable price range, Period.

Good solid gun. I am using as a back up but will not be disappointed if I use it. 9. Shots and she is dead on. 1.5-2 inch groups at 100 yds. I put a Leupold 3-9/40 VX 1 Ready for my trip now

Was looking for a quality rifle at a decent price which is not easy to find. I have a browning BAR safari so was excited to see Browning with a value priced rifle. The AB3 is the same mechanism as the A-bolt but with composite stock. Perfect compromise for a quality firearm and a modern weather friendly exterior. I bought it for my son for deer season. Got it in 30-06 and Paired it with a leuopold vx1. Sighted it in quickly and it shoots flawlessly. Top mounted safety and detachable box clip. My son had no problem taking down a deer opening day. It's priced as good or better than lower end Remington and others but in my opinion better quality. You can't go wrong with a Browning and it's nice to see them offer a superior rifle at a low price point. The staff at the cabelas Hammond IN store was very helpful too.

I bought this rifle in 30.06 and mounted a leupold 3-9x40 vx1 . Pretty good finish for the price, very accurate (1 inch grouping) at 100 yards. But you can have a x-bolt hunter for a couple of hundreds more.Better bolt, better barrel that would take longer to heat at the range.

I switched from a Remington 700 SPS Varmiter in .308 to a AB3 in 6.5 Creedmoor and I've never looked back. The gun is light, trigger is crisp, recoil pad is descent, and the action is smooth. This is what I consider a perfect all around hunting rifle for North and South Carolina.

Have that rifle for 3 years and its keep impressing me. Got Talley one piece mounts and bushnell 4-14 scope. Accuracy is unbelievable, i got sako a7 in .270 and tikka t3x in .223 with their accuracy guarantee and browning just as accurate. Only thing i dont like is magazine, plastic with steel lips, looks very cheaply made, but it works. Stock also doesnt seen to be hollow on inside and doesnt make much noise. If that rifle came in .223 i would have 2 browning rifles by now.

Out of the box, I was able to hit dead bullseye from 50 yards. The gun is lightweight and fun to shoot.

Purchased this as my first hunting rifle. Went with the 6.5 Creedmoor in hopes that it will be an easier transition for my kids. Took a bit to properly sight in, but once I did, extremely accurate. Took my first deer with it the following day from 125 yards.
