When this rifle was introduced, I immediately loved the look. A while later I was able to fire one owned by someone else at a range. I immediately loved it. A free short weeks later and I’m a proud owner. I also have the RPR in .308 and love both. Great job Ruger.

Bought one after having fired two others purchased in August by our Rifle League Shooters. This rifle comes standard with an excellent trigger, an ingenious adjustable stock, a Target Barrel worthy of the title, adjustable lift bolt, and sufficient weight to provide a decent platform as a position rifle. It's accuracy matches the very best of what .22 Rimfires are capable of producing. Feed this rifle good ammunition, and prepare to be amazed. Given the price point, any rifle with these features is a bargain. The rifle is good to go as is, but you'll need to add sights. There are no sights on the rifle as delivered. It's equipped with a solid top rail to mount an optic, and you'd be pretty much unlimited in your selection.of riflescopes, although you have to be careful with large objective lens housings requiring higher bases to clear the bell. The rifle uses the same magazines as the Ruger 10-22, and the release is a better design.

You can tune this rifle to fit your needs. I bought everything from red dot to tripod plus more. Shooting 1/16 groups @75 no problem. With higher power scope 500yd would be easy.

I bought this rifle at the Cabela’s in Saskatoon a couple weeks ago and I’ve already put about 400 rounds through it. Before I even fired the rifle I disassembled it and removed the barrel to clean the disgusting anti seize they pack it with from the factory. While putting it back together, I bedded the action blocks with aluminum tape. I’d recommend anyone seeking to get the most accuracy out of this rifle to watch Elfster’s rifle and reloading videos on this rifle and procedure on YouTube. Well worth it. Once it was put back together and torqued to spec, I threw on my Cabela’s 4-16x40 ffp with medium rings the bell just clears the hand guard. What a combo! Once I finished breaking it in, it only shot better and better. With CCI green tag, it is common to shoot under half inch 5 shot groups, with the best being about 1/4”. It still shoots mini mags 1/2-3/4”. My first ruger rifle and I do not regret it. Awesome gun and is a blast to shoot!

Great quality as always with Ruger, yes it can be found cheaper on line but you don't have the option of a hands on purchase.Personally I refuse to buy on line mostly because you never know what will show up at your FFL ! In the process of mounting my scope and bipod and then a trip to the range....Remember it's "RUGER QUALITY"

Right out of the box, the pistol grip was loose. I tried to tighten it, but nope, the screw wouldn't bite. Removed the handle and looked at the threads; there were about none. All threads were already gone on a BRAND NEW gun! Now, this isn't just Cabela's fault. They should have checked the gun before shipping it, but it is also a serious design flaw which everyone should be aware of. I guess that if you want to change the grip, you better not tighten the screw too tight since they managed to wreck the fun at the factory installing the original one...

Bought this rifle in 17HMR a few months ago, took it to the range and sighted it in. Didn't take long to zero it. Now shooting 100m groups at less than MOA. Amazing little gun, so much fun to shoot!

“Precision” is a stretch for this rig. Looks good, but it doesn’t seem to shoot all that well. Since I’ve picked it up 6-8 weeks ago I’ve put probably 1k-1.5k rounds through it from a ton of different manufactures to see what it likes. Everything from several cheap bulks, 3 different ELEY offerings, RWS, Lapua Midas+, Norma match, some SKs, 2 different federal gold medal, CCI Select and Greentag and a bunch more. Groups were shot with a 10 shot fouling per ammo type then five 5 round groups after that at 50 yards. Average size group is .8 at 50 so that’s not as good as I was expecting. Not even a MOA shooter. A ton of money and work into sourcing the ammo for the testing during an ammo shortage and not much to show for it. I guess I’ll wait until ammo is more available and try a CZ 457 and this will just hang on the wall.

Bought this in 22LR from Cabelas Winnipeg a week and a half ago and was trying to decide on this or the savage. After some questions and debate I decided to go with the Ruger. I went out with it 2 days in a row to the range to see what it can do after putting a Crossfire 2 scope on it. On advice from a couple of gun counter people (who really know their stuff at this store) I tried out a few choice types of ammo and some others I had laying around. Well you decide the pics say it all. The Ruger and the advice came together and i cant wait till its all broken in and tightens up the groupings. So glad i chose the Ruger Thanks Guys and Gal At Winnipeg.

It’s fairly accurate right out of the box - although I imagine it will tighten up even more as I get more rounds down the barrel. Fun gun to shoot.

Bought this Ruger in 17hmr and it’s the most accurate gun I own at 100 yards. Shoot through 223 shells off fence posts at 102 yards all day. I cannot believe how accurate this gun is. Vortex diamondback 4-12x40 for glass

Shot this for the first time today, absolutely love it. Put on a vortex vanquish scope, with a Magpul bi-pod. Had it sighted in after 5 rounds at 100 yards. Was very consistent all day, shot about 100 rounds in total, gophers didnt stand a chance. The only con so far would be the weight it is very front heavy, although I did not really find it an issue as i was shooting off a bench all day.

I bought this rifle about 3 weeks ago at the time of writing this review. I bought it at Cabela's in Edmonton AB. North location. Installed a vortex diamondback tactical 3-9x40 scope on it with a magpull M-Lock bipod. Took it out to the range 1 week later and used about 140 rounds of CCI mini mag .22LR on it. Shot very accurately on a sunny day with fairly cold morning weather conditions. About 1-2 inch groups at 100 metres. Out of the box, no cleaning. which is alright for me. No malfunctions, no failures to feed/ extract, no msifires. All of the rounds cycled perfectly. If I wanted to chamber a round, the bolt did exactly that. The bolt is very secure and sturdy. once you chamber the round... its not coming out, unless you wanted to actually open the action. This rifle, with the scope and bipod attached weighed at about 7.5 pounds or so. Which, is fairly heavy, but I think that's a plus for a "precision" rifle. The build quality is really well done. Also, the fact that it came with 2, 10 round magazines was nice as well. Which I think it should be a standard nowadays. The mags were also very easy to load. Although, I do think it is a bit overpriced... should be at most around $750.00 Canadian, I am still very happy with it at full price. I am definitely excited to go back out on the range. This rifle... although not my first, is my first .22LR rifle and also my first Ruger firearm. It is definitely a tact driver!

Rifle hand guard off center out of the box. I have to call Ruger for warranty and wait couple of months to get it back.

Great quality. Very ergonomic feel. Fit and finish are beautiful. Ruger never disappoints. I feel they the best firearms available. And they are a great fit with Cabela's/Bass Pro who offers great prices and a wide selection.

For the money this is a very accurate .22. After a couple upgrades and with good ammo it shoots sub Moa groups at 100 yards.

Overall, this is a very good option at the price point. It shoots well and seems to have a lot of potential with some minor tweaks. The action was rough out of the box, but cleans up well and is getting smoother over time. This is a great choice for someone who wants a precision rifle without breaking the bank.

Unfortunately I had to return my rifle to Ruger to repair a problem with the safety, it shoots very accurately and should be returned soon.

We have an explosion of ground squirrels in our area. Terrible destructive to fruit trees and garden plants. I put a 3x9 Vortex scope on my Ruger Precision 22 Rifle and it is a tack driver. I’m very happy with my new rifle and would recommend one for you.

As the title says, after zeroing the rifle. I tried several types of ammo from CCI standard to Eley match...the gun shot it all nicely with tight groups. Some better then others but all within a dime size or smaller. Bolt stiffness is the one downfall but not enough to take a star. 4.75
