2 years agoAbsolutely the best customer service of any company I've ever dealt with. Very eager to work with me and my time frame for purchasing this pistol. The gun itself is a work of art. I am certainly an admirer of the 1911 class as a whole, but this gun is a beauty unlike any I've ever seen. Not only is it pretty but its been 100% reliable, and very accurate for the first 100 rounds. I originally wanted a Rock Island Arms 1911, but for a few bills more, this gun can be had, and I am more than pleased with it, and glad I stepped up to the American made.

2 years agoThe gun is everything I expected. As for my experience with grabagun, everything went excellent. Will definitely do business again.

2 years agoI have a mixed feeling about the gun itself but grabagun.com is perfect in every way, the fastest shipping bar-none.The gun has a few flaws on the slide dust-cover are tooling marks on the right side which is only cosmetic. The frame dust-cover is off center in other words one side is thicker than the other. First 100 rounds were awful with nearly every shot at first was a FTE but has smoothed out quite a bet before I got to 100. I will fire a couple hundred more before I send it back, But I … Read More

2 years agoThe lightweight commander is top shelf. I saved a couple hundred from the local gun stores and couldn't ask for more straight from the box. I own several high end customs and a Colt Defender lightweight for carry and Ruger has really stepped up their game. I've bought a few from GAG and I've saved a buttload. I'm sure there will be more to come.

2 years agoI've had mine for a year now and after about 1000 rounds it has been flawless it'll feed any kind of ammo you wish to use, beautiful American made handgun. GaG had a great price on it.

2 years agoIt's been 4 or 5 months since purchase and were at about 500 to 600 rounds downrange and still no stoppages. 80% of the ammo has been fmj reloads and this $650 1911 is still top shelf. Changed the plug out with Wilson combat and changed recoil springs to Wilson 18# commander flat wire. Trigger pull has lightened to just a hair over 4# and I love it. Ruger has made a winner and when people find out what gems that the lightweight commander is the price will rise. Ruger is one of the most reliable … Read More

2 years agoIf one must have a 1911 of useable size then this Ruger is one of the better ones. I will never understand the love affair for this obsolete and overcomplicated pistol design. There are more accurate and reliable .45acp handguns on the market that weigh a lot less and cost less too. Heck the FNX is one example alone, then the Glock 21. If you have to have a 3lb gun though the Ruger chopped down 1911 is better than most

2 years agoIncredible value for a high quality 1911! Fit and finish are superb. Looking forward to years of use. Grab a Gun was excellent and definitely the best price going.

2 years agoRuger SR1911, 45 ACP, Novak Sights, SS, Wood Grips. I've had this pistol for about six months and have run about 500 rounds thru it! So far it has perform wonderfully, very accurate and fun to shoot, no malfunction even shooting with different brands and types of ammo (aluminum and brass). I own a couple of Springfield polymer guns and one of them in particular (XDM 2 tone full size) is my favorite…until now! This Ruger beauty has become my new favorite, not only for its looks but also for … Read More

2 years ago1911's aren't for everyone but if you love them like I do you get a lot for your money with this Commander. I own a Kimber which cost a lot extra to get the options this Commander comes with. I did a 'poor man's trigger job' (6 lbs. to 4 lbs.) & added a Briley bushing (Brownells) & this is one accurate 1911. Mine really likes 230 grain FMJ so that's what I feed it. Keep it clean & shoot it often, it just gets better with use.

2 years agoBought the full size originally, decided I needed the commander. Beautiful pistol, easy to shoot. Has been 100% reliable.

2 years agoThis is a beautiful gun and worth every cent. Ruger makes a great firearm and this one holds true to that fact. Shot straight and true out of the box. It's a lot of fun watching big pieces of paint chips fly off steel plates when you ring them with a 45 round.. I hit a 12 inch round half inch thick plate at 50 yards with this widow maker. Zero regrets and would absolutely by this again from Grab A Gun in a heartbeat. They have the best price of anyone on this 1911.

2 years agoThe first dry-firing revealed an incredibly short trigger travel. A tiny bit of slack travel - 1/32" isn't much travel. After the slack was taken up the trigger moved just under 1/8" until the hammer fell. The pull felt a bit heavy so before I ever fired this pistol I totally disassembled, inspected and polished all trigger release parts. No changes other than careful polishing, including the entire trigger loop - top, bottom and sides. The result was a drop to a 4.5 lb trigger pull. It is as … Read More

2 years agoFIt, finish and feel were perfect right out of the box. Exactly what i expected from Ruger. Took it to the range and EXCEEDED my eXpectations for ACCURACY but failed to load first round of Magazine twice. BReak-in period Should correct that problem. Dealing with gag was easy!

2 years ago1st time I bought a 1911 pistol from Ruger. Totally surprised! I loved it right out of the box! Great shooting gun!

2 years agoI have come to have very high expectations of Ruger firearms, and I believe the company's high standards for firearms performance is an extension of the company's overall emphasis on customer satisfaction. When I received this 1911 pistol I performed a field strip to prepare it for its first trip to the range. Even though this pistol was unlubricated, I was amazed at how good the fit was. Everything came apart well, but there no loose parts, just proper fitting parts. As of this writing, the SR1911 is ready for the range. As mentioned, my expectations are high!

2 years agoIt is a very nice looking gun and fits well in my hand. I have not shot it yet. The only problem I had with it was when I put the 7 round clip in and pulled back the slid to put one in the chamber it stopped the slid and would not take the shell in called tiger and they sent me two 8 round clips they work fine.
