1 year agoI own the fullsize SR1911 and love it. The SR1911-A is about 10 oz lighter and 3/4" shorter and that makes for a very good CCW. I have used my fullsize 1911 and other pistols for CC, but the SR1911-A is much better. Also my fullsize 1911 holster works just fine, so that is a cost savings as well. Eight round magazines do not add very much to the weight nor affect a concealability. Took it to the range and it is just as accurate and as good a shooter as the fullsize version. I'm tempted to … Read More

1 year agoThis pistol is great looking and even better handling. I have the Ruger 1911 Government model and this new lightweight commander size is just as accurate, but easier to carry. Range report: first shots right on the bullseye and no failures throughout the entire range session. Shorter barrel and lighter weight over government model make for comfortable carry.

1 year agoGrabagun has a great price and excellent service. The Ruger SR1911 Lightweight is exactly what I expected. Will enjoy it for years to come.

1 year agoI Love this gun. Been wanting one ever since it came out. A nail driver. It is my new carry gun. And Grabagun was great to deal with. Great price and quick shipping. Couldn't be more happier !

1 year agoLightest 4 to 4.25 inch 1911. Came with fair trigger action (about 6 pounds that went to about 5 pounds with use) using MIM parts, which will be replaced with C&C parts (needed by every 1911 being sold today). Light barrel but reasonable accuracy with good sights. Excellent for carry. RO 4 inch is a bit more heavy because of heavy barrel and it too needs MIM parts replaced. Both point very, very well!

1 year agoSince my last review, needed to reduce the trigger reach. Substitution of old style Colt trigger, which is short, resulted in double. Used short trigger with overtravel screw and it worked fine with a lot of fitting. Looks as if the grip safety lugs and their housing is not 100% standard. Grips are thin, so replacing them was not an option. The sear, disconnector, mainspring, and sear spring were replaced with C&S parts to result in an excellent trigger action - and now with a shorter reach … Read More

1 year agoThis an excellent 1911 for edc, I purchased the standard commander model from gag last year and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. I have put 300 rounds down range with steel, brass and aluminum case ammo fmj and hp with zero issues. Ruger has made another high quality firearm at a affordable price. GaG was excellent as always this is my 4th purchase from them, fast shipping friendly staff great to deal with.

1 year agoThis is an excellent lightweight 1911 Ruger done another outstanding job. I also own the cmd ruger model and both are fine craftsmanship. Gag was great as usual fast shipping best price. I've shot about 500 rounds through it and it hasn't one single problem. I've shot aluminum, brass and steel case ammo through it as well as hollow points. If you're looking for a lightweight 1911 look no further

1 year agoGreat 1911, very light and trigger feels great. Only complaint is that a 700 dollar gun came in a plastic bag inside a cardboard box.. what the hell Ruger.

1 year agoFirst off, dealing with GAG was great. I bought this gun 1 1/2 years ago. It arrived at my dealer 26 hours after I purchased it. I selected the Ruger over the Colt due to features that I found desireable (titanium insert in feedramp for one). The only modification I made was a Grieder short trigger to fit my finger reach. The gun has been 100% reliable with ball, HP and LSWC rounds using the factory mags and Tripp Cobra Mags. Not so much with Wilson mags but I've had trouble with them in … Read More

1 year agoi have always wanted a lightweight commander , NOT a fan of the "beavertail" gripsafety , will replace asap . otherwise , i like the gun , and GAG was lightning speed on shipping . series 70 , my favorite trigger system.

1 year agoI've had this gun for four years now. It was my first purchase from Grabagun. Swift shipping, it arrived at my dealer within 30 hours from out of state. It has functioned 100%. Extraction was 100% but erratic. Added tension to the extractor and that cleared it up. The only change I've made is to install a Grieder short trigger to accommodate my trigger reach. Excellent accuracy. The stock slim grip panel and flat mainspring housing make it a perfect fit to my hands.

1 year agoGreat value. Tighter than Colts - a great fun-at-the-range pistol. Had to replace the trigger (part touched by trigger finger) to enhance fit. Discovered that one must use a replacement trigger having an over-travel screw. Unlike Springfield pistols, everything else in the Ruger appears to be 1911, which sure helps if one wishes to enhance or repair the pistol. Next step in value for US made 1911 would be a Dan Wesson.

1 year agonear perfection in a 45 1911. good looking, reliable out of the box nice balance and easy shooting. the thin stocks are good looking AND FEEL right in hand to me . . i like the extended combat thumb safety and easy to operate grip safety a lot. just do not like the higher/extended mag release. fantastic pistol by RUGER its my go to 45

1 year agoFor a CNC gun, this gun is really tight and smooth as glass. I have changed is the mainspring and mainspring housing with one that has a built in mag well. I shoot heavy 200 grain semi wadcutters so I did replace the factory spring with a 21 1/2 lb aftermarket spring and added a buffer. I haven’t had a single malfunction in over 3750 serious rounds through it. It is still super tight and crazy accurate. Last week I shot 5 strings of 5 plates at 50 foot. My average time was 2.6 seconds. This Gun
