Hate to be another guy making claims before even firing the Wrangler. What I can tell you is this little thing has stole my heart. I bought the Wrangler and ordered a S&W 686 the same night. Just received the 686 and I love it but just something about the little Wrangler. I will not be passing either gun down,I hope to shoot the heck out of them till bullets tumble. Single Six inerds in the Wrangler great starter gun.

Bought the Ruger Wrangler as my first revolver used for target shooting and plinking. Very easy to use and carry. Take it with me to the shooting range and when hiking as a varmint deterrent.

Rarely does a brand name gun come along at a great price like this. The fit and finish, while not comparable to the 700 dollar Bearcat version of this gun, is not that far off. The hammer pull is a bit stiff for trigger finger pull, and I find myself doing the no-no and pulling the hammer back with my other hand. But then, arthritis is probably a contributing factor. Trigger pull is near perfect. Accuracy is as good as a six inch barrel gets. The cerakote finish gives the gun a high quality and durable finish that prevents rust and finger marks. I have heard gun owners spending as much to cerakote their existing guns as this gun costs new. Loading and unloading is a bit slow because the cylinder does not swing out to load all six rounds at once. You slide back a cylinder access door that exposes a single round. You rotate the cylinder to load each round and eject each spent shell one at a time. Not a problem at the range, but slow if you need to reload in a tough situation. The ejector rod rattles a bit as you move the gun. It presents no problem with its operation, but it does make the gun feel cheaper than it should. A little tape around the rod solves the problem. If I had paid 700 for the Ruger Bearcat and had these issues, I would not be happy. But for 200 or so dollars, it is truly high quality gun from a well respected brand.

This completes my set of 3. Silver , bronze, and now the black. They all fire very nice. You have to like single action to be a collector like I am. On a single action you don't try and break any speed records of trying to load, Just have a lot of fun at the range. These revolvers do that.

I've had this revolver now for a couple of months and have been to the range a few times, I thought I was just allowing the gun to swing to the left when firing so I had a friend shoot it,(he's been shooting handguns for much longer than myself), he had the exact same results as I did off to the left by about 4 to 5 inches, I guess I'll have to send it to the ruger repair center and have them look it over, not impressed. tried to download a pic but didn't work oh well. otherwise it's a decent little gun if I can get it more accurate it should be a good little blinker.

This gun feels great and is really fun to shoot, will eat any ammo you pit in it. Will enjoy putting many rounds down the tube of this one. For the bargain price and quality, it is an easy decision to purchase, you will not be disappointed

Bought this gun almost a year ago and have had so much fun! Looks like the cap gun Ihad as a kid! Have had zero issues with this firearm, but there was a couple flaws in the Cerakote finish, and I like my guns to look immaculate. Can't seem to keep the hammer clean, don't think its coated but seems to be stained from firing. Other than the couple issues I would buy again!

I bought this pistol a month ago and have yet to fire it. When I received it the silver finish on the hammer was stained brown as if packing oil had prevent the finish to adhere. The pistol is on its way to Ruger's Canadian depot for repair. What a hassle it is for a customer because either Ruger or Cabela's have obviously no quality control.

I wanted a .22LR pistol to teach people to shoot. I originally came into Cabela's hoping to buy a Ruger Single Six but was shown one of these by the sales associate. Since then, my friends and I have put roughly 1000 rounds through it over the last 12 months, and I have used it to teach five people how to shoot handguns. One of the great features of using a single-action revolver to teach people to shot is that it dramatically decreases the odds of accidental discharges. In addition to this Ruger's transfer bar safety, you do not need to worry about it being dropped on a loaded cylinder either. The notch sights are adequate, the Cerakote finish has held up well, and it has shot every type of ammunition I have put into it (one of the benefits of a .22lr revolver over a semi-auto). My only complaint with the revolver is that I was unable to pull the hammer back occasionally after closing the gate. This was caused by the cylinders not being correctly aligned after loading the gun. To correct this, you simply rotate the cylinders until they lock into the correct position, then pull the hammer back to shoot. This does not need to be done every shot, only occasionally for the first shot after loading. In addition to this, the gate on these are very tight and can be a little cumbersome to open, but this problem is mainly expressed by smaller shooters. Overall, I do not think that any of the competition can beat the value this revolver provides. It has been phenomenal as a teaching tool and is something every shooter should add to their collection.

This is a fantastically fun revolver. Check over the frame carefully before buying as they do have small casting flaws. I bought a black one and it shoots steel at 50m hitting 90% of the time. So, yes, it's accurate. It is very well built, you can't beat the price, and in single action you would spend a fortune on ammo. It's also an excellent handgun for teaching new shooters because it has to be cocked for each shot, has little recoil, and functions every single time.

Got my Ruger Wrangler through the post office today. I cannot find a way to contact Cabelas to get the combination for the case lock provided by Cabelas. I will be cutting the lock off in the morning. I don't know about the product yet as I can't open the case. Cabelas has been great to deal with to this point, But this is very frustrating.

I purchased the Wrangler last month and it is a great plinking gun! Feels solid in the hand and the hammer is nicely checked for non-slip action. So far no problems. Totally recommend this revolver if you just want to have some fun at the range knocking off the spinners.

Wouldn't cycle right out of the box. Loaded 3 rounds and had to force the cylinder to turn for the next 3. Already sent back to Ruger for repairs after almost firing once. Not impressed. When calling my home store they basically said deal with Ruger yourself...

This is the best model of a six shooter I highly recommend it for anyone looking for the cowboy look. It's very easy to shoot. It is very easy to clean and maintain. Also a whole lot of fun to shoot at the range or in the woods. I would purchase another one in a different color.

So far the gun does not work. It did not index properly and jams. I contacted Ruger and only 2 days old the gun had to be returned. I heard their customer service is excellent so hopefully fixed soon.

I love this gun. It's beautiful, accurate, fun, and a great gun to use to teach new shooters. Everyone who is considering purchasing one of these guns should review the "Guns of the West" YouTube video entitled, Ruger Wrangler: True Accuracy Test, where Justin uses a Ransom Rest to test the true accuracy of the gun. Also, unlike certain other companies, Ruger stands behind its firearms with great customer service.

Solid gun for plinking or small game hunting, but gun gets scratches on barrel just from it spinning.
