2 years agoGreat gun now that I fixed the one magazine. The spring was assembled wrong in magazine and was causing issues. Love it now

2 years agoNice backup handgun for law enforcement. I used to carry a S&W 642-2 revolver (.38 +P - 5 rounds), however, I like the slim profile of the Shield and the fact that it carries 7 rounds. Good price at Sportsman Wearhouse.

2 years agoWas looking for a .45 ccw. Liked the Kimber CCII but expensive and out of stock, plus, 4.5oz heavier than the S&W. Took me about 120 rds to get the hang of a 20oz .45 with a 3" barrel (my other .45 is a full size Colt 1911) but once I did my accuracy came in and I am enjoying it. I don't have to shoot quarter size groups with a .45. It doesn't really matter exactly where you hit your target with 230 grains. You're going to knock it down or spin it around. Which is the whole point of a carry .45

1 year agoTook the gun to the range and I fired 100 rds without any fails, I fired Speer lawman ammo 230 grain that I bought in the store and I fired reloads 239 grain that I purchased online and the gun did not have any problems with the ammo. Not as much kick as other people had told me, I added talon grips and I like the feel with those grips better then the ones that come on the gun. The gun was dead on out of the box, I did not have to adjust any sights. Trigger pull was very reasonable and smooth. I

1 year agoThe sales person was extremely helpful I haven’t had a chance yet to go out then fire the gun but I have high expectations which I’m sure will not be disappointed

1 year agoIf you want a good CC gun in 45ACP, look at this model. This has the 3.3" barrel and is roughly the size of a G43X. Fewer rounds, greater stopping power. No misdeeds after 100 rounds with Sig-Sauer JHP, Winchester FMJ, and various reloads. Take down and cleaning pretty easy.

1 year agoThe springs on the magazine are insanely tight and rough to load without a speed loader. I tried firing it at the range out of the box and kept getting failures to feed, after disassembling cleaning and lubricating the gun it seemed to resolve that issue. Not a bad gun, just make sure you keep it extremely well oiled to avoid jams and pick up a sp...Read More Read more about review stating Tight Springs, and needs to be well oiled

1 year agoI have many handguns. But if I could only have one this would be at the top of my list. Good grip - not too heavy - home defense and cc.

1 year agoGun arrived from PSA quickly yet the box was fairly well crushed - UPS? Anyway cleaned the gun upon arrival and discovered how difficult it is to reassemble the 7 round magazine. Took over an hour and considerable experimentation becasue the owners manual gives you little information about the trick to get it done. (What were S&W engineers thinking when they designed the mag?) On the first trip to the range I put 85 rounds through the gun - Federal & Winchester FMJs and Federal and Sig JHPs in

1 year agoOutstanding value for whoever wants to carry a 45 without the size and weight of a traditional 45. Very manageable recoil with quick follow up shots. All you need to do is hit some metal plates to know it's worth the slightly bigger size than the 9mm version.

1 year agoFor a gun with iron sights I love this gun. The only thing that could make it better for me is an RMR optic on it. However Until May 1 my EDC rotation alternated between a Kahr K9 and a Glock 43. After shooting about 3 mags thru this Shield 45 I sold my Glock 43 put the K9 in the safe and strapped on the Shield 45. It has always been a policy of mine to never sell a gun. Therefore the Glock 43 is my first gun that I haver ever sold. The G43 just didn't fit me quiet right. To sell the

1 year agoI am very pleased with the S&W M&P 45 Shield I received from PSA. It was in perfect condition upon arrival. I received it at my local FFL and immediately proceeded into the range for testing. The pistol was clean and seemed lubed OK but I field-stripped it to inspect clean and lubricate the internals myself before firing. My experience during that session was very comfortable shooting tight groups and no difficulties of any kind. The S&W M&P 45 Shield is a very nice application of

1 year agoI piggy backed on an order from a friend as it seemed like a good deal. I was very impressed with the size weight and trigger pull when we received them however I wasn't able to shoot it until yesterday. Now I'm really impressed - this gun kicks less than a Glock 43 and I can actually hit something with it. I had no trouble nailing a stump sticking out of my pond 7/7 at about 20 yards. I will put some night Ameriglo night sights on it and it will become my new carry gun. P.S. I ordered 2 more for my sons.

1 year agoPicked it up yesterday and finally shot a few rounds today. Love the natural pointability and the accuracy potential with factory ammo. Need to see how it likes my reloads

1 year agoI am a 1911 fan, been so for a long time. This pistol has a very good grip angle, is thin and points very well. S&W got the 2.0 trigger right, and there is no need to invest in an aftermarket trigger. Shooting the ARX or Lehigh loads, this weapon has a light recoil and comes back to target quickly. No need to drop 1K on a 1911, which will require an additional step to get it ready.

1 year agoSurprisingly low recoil for a compact polymer .45, even with a higher bore axis. I have no problems getting tight groups with this pistol. Very smooth trigger. Conceals nicely in a Blackhawk! nylon holster and is comfortable to carry.

1 year agoDue to the Corona virus effecting range availibilty I still haven't been to the range with it. However, was delivered on time exactly as expected

1 year agoSmall, high quality 45 acp. Good shooter. After the first 150 rounds the recoil spring guide assembly fell apart, but Smith and Wesson was quick to send me out another one, and I have had no problems since.

1 year agoNot a big 45 fan but after going to the range with this one and carrying this one I am in love. I have nothing to say bad about this gun.
