S&W Model 629 .44 Mag 4" Pistol-163603

I am partial to S&W revolvers and I wanted to add a big-bore 44 Magnum to my arsenal. Although I have yet to shoot this one, I am looking forward to taking it to the range. I do not intend to carry it, but I intend to have some fun with it.

Well balanced revolver when shooting. Fit and finish were very well done. My favorite round is the 44 Rem Mag and the 4” barrel is easy to control. Sights were right on.

No complaints after 150 rounds fired. I changed grips as I didn't like the ones that came with the firearm. Went with Pachmeyer grip which fit my hand better. Fit and finish could be better so only four stars.

Love this gun. Shot 50 rounds of Magnum thru it with no issues. Can't seem to find any 44 specials around to compare. If your thinking of getting one of these make sure you get it from grabagun best price around.

Just slightly heavier than the so-called light 69 at 37 oz vs 41.7 oz for the 629..that's just 4 oz out of 42 (10%) about 4 rounds of 44. but impossible to find a speed loader for the 69. the plastic-like "rubber grips" punish the hands like wood: get the houge x-frame RecOIL ADSORBING grips for either gun. this is my hiking edc, with speed loaders, better than any wonder-9/40/45/10. Saw a chart: each 44 mag is worth (4) 9mms, 10mm worth just (2) 9mms. just how many shots can you expect to get at a charging bear?

Once again GAG came through with a hard to get item. HAVEN'T got a chance to shoot it yet but I'm looking forward to many years with this well made firearm, almost don't want to shoot it....lol but I will.

This pistol is an elusive find! Worth the wait though. I live in the NC Mountains and come across wild boar and bears. I feel with the utmost certainty that my 629 is the weapon that can handle the task at hand if it comes down to that.

I like mine, I have also secured an aftermarket unfluted cylinder that I will have machined for use with TK custom full moon clips, this is a very sweet firearm, and easily concidered combat worthy, get one today before thier all gone!

Haven't had a chance to fire the gun yet but it fits well in my hand and has a good balance. If to shoots as well as my other Model 29 I will be quite satisfied.

I own three .44 Magnums. It is a good caliber and packs a lot more "punch" than the 9mm. For target practice, I shoot 44 specials. I was interested in the 460 Magnum but, in my opinion, it is too powerful for the S&W frame.

The grip has a nice feel, recoil is mild with remington deer/bear JSP rounds, and after adjusting the rear sight to my preferred elevation it is a devastatingly accurate revolver.
