I brought this gun 1/19/21 online and went to the range and ran a 100 rounds through it, with no malfunctions. Trigger not that bad on it, plus i don't want a gun with a hair thin trigger. Recoil wasn't bad either. Its a well made smith and wesson.

I purchased this in January and went to the range and wasn't disappointed. It worked flawlessly with no failures of any kind. I ran a hundred rounds of different ammo and it worked as it should. Thinking about getting the sd9 next.

i bought this couple of weeks ago and has a failure to feed/load. tried two different kinds of 40 sw ammo. never been fired. sent back to the manufacturer. im so upset why i choose this.

I bought this gun and was well impressed with it. The recoil when fired is minimal for a more accurate shot. Well worth the money.

I took the gun shooting for the first time today. I did not know what to expect. I have see mixed reviews. I had no problems with the functioning of the gun I definitely recommend. There was some rattling when the magazine had 8 or more bullets. I called the manufacturer and they state it was typical. It should go away the more I use it.

Great gun that your money can pay. Reliable and comfortable to hold. Cons: Mag says 14+1, No way you can load the 14 bullet without damaging you Mag or your gun, I believe is why the price is so competitive, I can live with 13 instead 14, same happens to the SD9, I will say 16-1, no 16+1

Bought the 9 less than a year ago. I have shot 400 rounds without cleaning it. No problems. Not as accurate as my full size 45. This is a gun for close contact situations so, not worried that I'm not precise at 25yards. Great gun for the price S&W!

i bought this gun a few months ago and haven't had a problem with it. its very light, even fully loaded. grouping was good at longer yards. I love Smith & Wesson. I suggest getting this gun.

I couldn't be happier. I ordered the SD40VE online so I was worried I wouldn't like it. Let me tell you, I love this firearm. Feels great. Shoots great. As a beginner, the 180gr. .40 isn't at all a challenge. I bought it in early January. I wish bass pro had ammo reserved for new buyers. That's my only complaint.

First buy this gun then go to a range... it does have a kick...... so i took the plastic guide pin out and the recoil spring replaced place the guide pin with a stainless steel one changed the recoil spring which took a lot of kick out this gun the only other thing is slide release lock tabs are short I had a glock one put in by a gunsmith was well worth it .....taught my 13yr old daughter how to use it ....she shot 500 rounds before she said she was getting tired ..my son shot 500.. first outing... both kids have shot 5000 rounds each with it.. no jams 2 different range masters have shot both were surprised by the very little kick after my changes... My daughter is best shot in the house she hits a tight group around the bullseye at 75 yards range master wants her for a competition girls team my son a different story ... 1 out of 2 kids not bad....

So I thought I bought the S&W SD 40 VE off the Cabela’s app and had it shipped to my local store. What I got was the S&W SD 40 and not the VE. I am not mad I guess. So far I tried two different brands of ammo and the firearm does its thing at the range. After firing it I quickly hated the grip texturing off the back strap. Which is not major issue that grips or grip tape cannot fix. Overall I am happy with this handgun!

I am so impressed with this hand gun. It’s light yet solid in build. It fires smooth and without issues. Shooting it either slow or as fast as your trigger finger can pull is no different. It’s reliable and I am happy to have it as the newest member of our home. I chose the 40 cal for its diversity. It’s not so big it takes work to keep it on target yet it’s got enough power to put down the threat with one shot unlike the 9 mil and 22 cal. That’s just my personal opinion I respect those that feel differently. I really like a feature I haven’t seen before. It’s an indicator that pops up when it’s loaded and chambered. Easy to see yet doesn’t interfere with your sight picture, what a great idea! The quality is what you would expect from a legend such as SnW! I now keep it with me at all times to assist in defending/protecting my family and those around me. I am one of many that are the guardians of freedom and the American way of life both foreign and domestic!!

Bought it little over a year ago. First 500 rounds, accurate to around 25 yards, after that, good luck hitting the target. The last 500 rounds, can barely hit a target at 10 yards, let alone where it needs to go. Tried many different manufactures of ammo but no change. Recommend a different gun if you want something accurate.

Probably one of the best handguns i own. Can't beat a .40 SDVE. It's a great pointer, and shoots very well. I did throw an apex trigger on it and I am very happy with it. looks great, too!

trigger is awful to say the least. no safety on the handgun. feels cheap comparatively to other firearms like glock. wildly inaccurate, mostly due to the trigger.

Loved the feel of the gun, took it out to shoot and couldn't get 4 rounds through without a FTL between magazine and barrel. Tried 2 different type of ammo (all factory new) and both mags and still had the issue shooting or just racking rounds through. Took it back to them and they had a look at it and did see the issue but thought it was a break in issue (off for brand new out of the box), it had been cleaned and oiled prior to this. Got a 3rd type of ammo today and out about 50 rounds
