The Savage A22 Magnum is a high-performance semi-automatic rimfire rifle that was specifically designed to use .22 WMR rounds. This rifle fixes the issue found on other rimfire rifles with it’s delayed blowback action that provides consistent performance with every shot. The A22 Magnum has a 21″ steel barrel and black synthetic stock. The rifle offers a 10 round rotary magazine and the user adjustable Savage AccuTrigger that allows for a crisp trigger pull and gives the shooter the flexibility to set the trigger pull to their individual preferences. Its thread-in headspace system is identical to the brand’s centerfire rifles, further increasing reliability and accuracy.

1 year agoPurchased from Cabelas last November. They should have advertised as a CCI ammo firearm as this is about all it will work with. Savage recommends CCI A22 ammo which is expensive and hard to find even at Cabelas. Have a friend and his malfunctions essentially the same. Light firing pin, fails to feed or extract most makes of 22 WRM ammo and an inaccurate Accu Trigger.

1 year agoPurchased last december. First gun I recieved would only fire maybe 2 out of 10 rounds. The rounds that fired did not eject. Had to pry out of chamber. Tried 4 different brands. Didn't make much difference. Casings would crack and expand. Not sure if gun was bored to proper size. Returned that gun after waisting my time and about 75 rounds trying to get it to work. Second gun Cabela's send worked better but gun still won't fire all brands of 22 wsm rounds. CCI made rounds for this gun but no one in my area sells them. Using Shootem rounds for now. Still misfires at least once in 20 rounds. Stock made cheap but is light for a long day out. Mixed emotions on this gun.

1 year agoWorked and cycled like a charm right of the box using Hornady 30gr VMax 22 WMR. This is my 2nd semi-auto rimfire gun by Savage Arms. Still great after 300+ rounds. Next purchase will definitely be the A17 in 17HMR!. Favorite rifle now!

1 year agoI have owned the Savage A22 Magnum rifle for over a year now and have put about 1000 rounds down the pipe. It has been mostly flawless for me (other than the factory mag being a bit tight to insert in the beginning...though after about 100 rounds the mag insertion became a lot easier). I have read some negative reviews about the rifle jamming all the time (fail to feed)….my experience has been the opposite...it has fed well all the high velocity ammo I have put through it no problem....as well, it even feeds and shoots the CCI Standard Velocity ammo easily ! The CCI A22 Magnum 35g and Hornady V-Max (Varmint Express) 30g ammo has proved the most accurate (1/2 inch groups at 50 yards and 3/4 to 1 inch groups at 100 yards bench rested). Truly a joy to shoot (buy some extra mags as you will save a lot of time by pre-loading and be able to enjoy your shooting experience better by doing so)...and yes, you will go through a ton of ammo as it is so much fun to shoot !

1 year agoShoots accurately. But will not reliably feed from factory 10 round Magazine, using the A22 ammo Worked the best using a butler creek 25 round mag with just 20 rounds. Otherwise, the round will not feed at the proper angle and jam. The butler creek mag would feed cci, winchester 40 grain rounds as reliably as the a22 ammo. The gun manufacturers. Is closed due to the pandemic, so I will deal with savage when THey reopen. The cz 512 looks better every day

1 year agoit was not feeding right and had to go back "like everything bought during the pandemic" to the manufacturer

1 year agoTook to range to site in with Nikon 2-7 X 40 Rimfire scope. Hitting 3/4 inch groups at 100 yds. Love this gun. Shoots straight and light weight. Shooting the CCI A22 ammo, have shot 200 rounds with no problems.

1 year agoFun little rifle that I'm teaching my kids to shoot with. Awesome trigger. Once I zeroed the scope I was shooting 1 inch groups at 75 yards.

1 year agosmooth as glass, 2 1/2 LB trigger pull and looks great. Accuracy is only as good as the shooter. I live in commie calif. so i'm limited to where I shoot and what I shoot. Green or lead.

1 year agoTook about 20 rounds to zero in at 50 yards. (no bore scope and new 3x7x42 scope). Shot 5 round groups within 3/8 inch patterns using CCI A22 ammo. Moved out to 100 yards and hit 5 round groups less than dime size. Over 200 rounds and stayed consistent. Love the accuracy of this rifle. Look out grouse and rabbits. Thanks Savage this is one sweet shooter for a semi-auto.

1 year agoI purchased this gun in March and it has never shot a full clip without jamming except for I 1 time, I have tried CCI a22 ammo and everything else and still doesn’t work properly. It is back at Savage Arms now for a repair or replace I don’t recommend it at this time, we’ll see what happens but now I’m not happy.
