1 year agoJust picked it up. The rifle does not look like the picture on tue website; it is not shiny polished stainless rather it has cheap looking mat grey metal look. Also, the magazine sets in loose and does not feed unless I hold it in and push the bolt at the same time.

1 year agoI bought the savage model 93 with the stainless still barrel it's a very light gun for squirrel hunting , predator hunting. The only downfall is that Sportsman's Warehouse did not have the scope mounts to purchase to put scope rings on it.

1 year agoFor the money you can’t go wrong if you can get over the cheap Flimsey clip system, it needs a good solid feed system like the Ruger rotary clip!

1 year agoStock butt cap is poorly matched to stock, but it’s totally cosmetic. Shot fine with iron sights but will be better when I mount scope. The one mag that came with it - as other reviews have noted - did not function well. I had already bought two stainless 5 round Savage mags and they worked fine. It’s a fun accurate little plunked that I won’t worry about scratching or dinging. This same gun with a tubule magazine would be way better, but .22 magnum is fun to shoot. 100yd hits with iron sights totally doable with a little Kentucky windage.

1 year agoI got the stainless 22 Mag. It’s a great gun and a bargain price at $ 249.00. The Store staff were super helpful and great to work with.

1 year agoAmazing accuracy. Didn’t expect it to be this accurate especially considering the criticism related to available ammo. Shooting Hornady 30gr. it’s easy to group 1” at 200 yards. Admittedly, the safety was a joke, loud ‘clack’ when releasing. I filed the catch down for a smooth transition and it works solidly and silently. The bolt was a little stiff at first but works smooth as silk after a 100 rounds. An incredible buy.

1 year agoWe bought it for pest control. Really nice rifle for the money. Very nice trigger right out of the box. Nice groups with CCI ammo. After seeing ours our neighbor bought one.

1 year agoI have one of the first 93r17 wood furniture. And it shoots an incredible one ragged hole five shot group. And that is why I had to have a savage in 22 magnum . I have approximately 40 rounds thru this. And only tried three different varieties of ammo so far and I'm 1/2" group at 50 yards. And that is awesome considering I'm 65 years old now .

1 year agoReally well built rifle, the bolt is a little stiff ,but I know that will change after I put a couple hundred rounds through it. I like the fact that it has iron sights.

1 year agoI really like this rifle! To mount a scope, use two Weaver 48016 bases: they fit perfectly and the screws match the taps on the receiver. I mounted an inexpensive scope ($40 Barska Colorado CO11342, 3-9x40mm), which comes with rings, and everything went together perfectly. I've put about 60 rounds of Armscor .22 Mag 40 Grain JHP with no problems so far. I recommend this rifle so far, especially for the price/value.
