2 years agoI bought this rifle in .17 HMR about a month and a half ago. I picked it up for $649.99. It is absolutely worth that price and I would buy it again for that tomorrow. For $740 though; you can buy the gun and stock separately for the same price and it comes with a scope. HOWEVER. When it comes to the rifle itself, I have zero real complaints, the rifle cycles and shoots incredibly well (~1 MOA on bipod at 100M and sub 2 MOA on bipod at 200M) . The trigger is great, and I have had zero light primer strikes. The bolt likes lots of oil or it gets a little caught up, but thats the easiest fix imaginable.

1 year agoBought this rifle in September and have only put about 200 rounds through it. First issue: The sear on their trigger assembly engages on its on its own about 20% of the time. You need to lift the bolt to reset. Very frustrating! And no, its not me. Second issue: when the magazine is full with 10 shots the first two bullets don’t align with the chamber and jamb. Tried four different ammo types all high quality with the same results. Third issue: bolt put a mark,(groove), in the bullet under the one loading. Fourth issue: the bolt does not align properly with the magazine. After only 30 rounds there was already a mark on the right side of the magazine. The gun does shoot well once you do get it to work but some serious quality issues here. Gun is back at Savage to get repaired. Not happy!!

1 year agoHave had for about a month now, have show various brands of ammo, all fired flawlessly. 1" groups at 100 yards.

1 year agoBought boxing week during the Let Rimfire Ring rebate period which is supposed to be worth $50. My rebate was denied because the online order confirmation combined with the physical receipt doesn't prove I actually received the rifle. Sent pics of Rifle, the box and UPC's but not good enough.

1 year agoBought one back in May of 2021 - right out of the box, it gouged rounds when loading off of the mag. Not."marked" or "grooved" like others have said, these were DEEP gouges that totally ruined the accuracy. Tried with different ammo, factory mags and the butler creek 25-rd, no luck. Sent it back to Savage, 6 week turn around. They smoothed down the edges beneath the bolt, and worked on the extractor. Finally get it back, put maybe 100 rounds through it, and now it is both failing to extract and having light primer strikes. Ive cleaned it top to bottom, inspected everything, this gun is just garbage for consistent reliability. I will say, it is dead-on accurate when it does decide to work. 1-hole groups at 50m with SK Match and CCI Green Tag. Do not waste your time or money, get a CZ 457 for close to the same price!

1 year agoI have had nothing but problems with this gun. The issues with bullet gouging and extraction are well documented. This will be my second go around with issues on this model. I have miss two completions due to this gun not being able to load and extract bullets. Yes, I have tried different high quality bullets but continue to get the same results. It’s a real shame that Savage has either cheaped out or mis-engineered this action. The gun does shoot good when you do get it to work. My advice, look elsewhere for a gun in this category.

1 year agoBought in 17HMR and am overall pretty pleased. Magazine can be a bit of a bear, especially when new but now, after a few hundred rounds, works just as well as my 10/22. Zero issues with FTF or FTE and is super accurate. Would have liked to have a removable buttstock and have a rear sling swivel but other than that it is great.

1 year agoTop notch features, MDT solid chassis, fantastic trigger, solid value. Mounted my scope and Bipod and I was shooting 1” groups at 50m on day 1

1 year agoThe basics are a solid gun but not real happy with the plastic magazine and when I mounted a Vortex 4 X 9 scope with the elevation adjustment turned all the way up the cross hairs were still six inches above the bore sight at 25 yards. Shimming under the front of the scope and the rail got me to it shooting 2 inches low.I am debating whether I should return it or machine the rail to get it in scope with some adjustment left.

1 year agoMade in Canada! Savage quality, MDT chassis, excellent trigger, solid magazines, over sized bolt handle, threaded barrel, heavy barrel, shoots accurately. I had a problem with bullet scratching from bolt. Shot over 150 rounds threw it and it went away, possibly breaking in was the solution. Favorite rifle next to my Ruger Precision now.

1 year agoReceived my new 22 precision mag. Everything looked great and put a bipod and got the new scope mounted and ready to sight it in. That's where it ends, after 3 different ammo manufactures the rifle will not feed ammo from magazine to barrel, it sends them into a high degree angle and will not feed!! If you load them individually by hand into the chamber, gut shoot fine. Savage says I need to send it back, something isn't correct and needs to be looked at, wish I thought of that when I called them? So now I have to remove the furniture and re box it and ship it to them on my dime for a bad product, I'm into deep now and they do not reimburse you for it ($100 FedEx insured recommended by Savage to go this rout)), stated very clearly on the warranty. Maybe you get lucky and get a good one out of the box and hope you do, should you choose this rifle but my experience has been terrible. This was my first and will be my last Savage in my gun safe!

1 year agoThis thing flat out shoots this group below is at 100 yards, the shot that I left out I pulled it but still measures .88 moa really impressive if you ask me. This gun seems to like CCI green tag and Eley Match. I have seen people complain of ejection issues and it does happen every often but I think it’s only when you don’t work the bolt hard enough.

1 year agoVery crisp trigger, well balanced, you’ll need a 20 or 30 MOA rail if you plan to shoot beyond a 100 yards. Accurate with the right ammunition.

1 year agoGreat people to deal with. My gun was here in 4 days of shipping. This B22 precision is extremely accurate. I bought one for myself and daughter for competition shoots.

1 year agoI am delighted with this rifle. I have it paired with a Leupold 3-9x rimfire scope and it has quickly become my favorite firearm. I've seen/heard complaints about the magazine but I haven't experienced any issues at all. I did opt for a Magpul sling mount bipod. I also have the M-Lok version of this bipod but the chassis would require the M-Lok version to be mounted further back. Everything about the action is smooth and crisp. This is my first exposure to the Accu-trigger and it has
