I bought the .308 Win version of this rifle and it is excellent. Very effective muzzle break on the 5R rifled and fluted barrel. This rifle comes standard with an very nice (decent set) adjustable gas block. The hand guard is free floated and M-look compatible it is attached to the upper with four bolts very secure. The bcg is monolithic and coated for easier cleaning, and the bolt has dual ejectors. The upper has M4 cuts for smooth feeding. I like having a functioning forward assist. The trigger is NiB treated and is very good, mine breaks a 6.25 lbs with very little creep. I like the butt stock it does well for recoil management. The handle is a little different but works well. I tightened the screw on the front of the stock to help it lock down. I didn't think I would like the plastic grip but it works good and is very ergonomic (I may replace it with. MOE+ later we will see). After cleaning I always put 100 rounds through my weapons as a standard break in schedule (some people say there is no need for that,) it has always worked for me. I put 120 rounds through it on Saturday it shot great. My groups with iron sights seated with no rests was .75-1.00 at 50 yards. Not bad for an Old guy. When my 1x8 Strike Eagle shows up I will see what I can get at 50, 100 & 200 yes. Excellent MSR... Modern Savage Rifle...

This is by far the best rifle i have ever bought. Out of the box 8 shots and 2 small adjustments. The last 3 shots, 2 in the same hole and the other touching. All this in a 35 mph wind! 100 yards. Savage is the best. Highly recommend you try.

Savage MSR-10 .308 is an amazing AR10. I have only put about 500 Rds. through it and it’s run and shoots very accurate. I would definitely buy more from savage

I purchased this rifle at Cabela's two weeks ago and went out to the range the next day. I am a left handed shooter and for some reason, the shells keep landing on my face. So I covered my right side of the face with my gloved right hand while shooting. After about 15 shots, the forward assist shot out like a bullet to my face, luckly, my right hand was covering my face at that time. It bruised my hand. I stopped at the store in Hamburg, PA to see if they can assist me in any way, maybe to facilitate the shipping back to the manufacture, but only to be told that they don't knows anything about ARs, and yet, they know how to sell them. They called someone younger from somewhere at the store to help me out but never shown. I left with disgust and went to a local gun shop which they helped me to ship the gun back to Savage with a nominal charge. I have over 10 rifles from the same manufacturer and never have any issues with them. This AR will be traded in for something else at the local gun shop once it gets back from the manufacture. Disappointed at both manufacturer's product quality and the store's ability for assistance.

Can anyone recommend a night vision / red dot scope and suppressor that are compatible with this? If so, please provide a few links to point me in the right direction! Thanks for your help,

Cabella's made a great impression. Every part of the experience was exactly as promised, from the online ordering and delivery, to the assist given during federal and state requirements.

I bought this rifle online and picked up at my local Bass pro. I outfitted it with a primary arms 1 x 6 scope with an Aero mount. Honestly, I wasn’t real impressed after the first hundred rounds. Then, I switched ammo! First I was using PMC bronze ammo and getting 2 MOA at distance. Once I switched to federal premium. I was shooting .25” groups @ 50yds (all holes touching) and .75” groups @ 100yds. I highly recommend this rifle.

Awesome gun. Buy it if you can find it in stock. The only draw back I have found is the description suggests it comes with a Blackhawk Knoxx AXIOM carbine stock but instead comes with a Magpul MOE Carbine Stock (which isn't a bad stock). The AXIOM stock comes with multiple integrated QD sling mounts but the MOE comes with none.

Love my rifle! Looks great and shoots great. Sighted it in using NATO ammo and was able to get great groupings with Federal ammo. The trigger has a shorter travel, but quickly got used to it.

This is a very fun quality rifle to own. Very compact for hunting in a box blind, easy to mount a scope, looks cool. Shoots about 1moa which is great for an AR-10 style rifle. The recoil is very mild. Depending on the ammo you will have to tweak it for reliability but I have never had any extreme issues cycling ammunition. I once unknowingly shot some full power ammunition with no crimping which I know made pressure spike and the rifle was not damaged so I think that shows it is well made.

I'm a little disappointed that when I picked it up, the bolt was already installed, and a minor scratch on the hand guard, which tells me that it was a returned item, yet, at full price. The gun counter guys were great, thorough, and efficient. Just wish it was a New gun. Operates well, glad I bought it, just annoyed about the gently used part.
