Sig Sauer Ammo .30-06 Sprg 165gr Venari Soft Point 20/Box V3006SP165-20

I had horrible expansion on three deer from 50 to a 150 yards. There was little to no blood on all three very disappointing will NOT be using these rounds agian next year forsure!

I always use Hornady ammunition and this is a great example of why I should stick to that. I decided to try the venari rounds, they looked like well put together rounds. But I am 6 rounds deep in my case with 4 of the rounds not firing. 2 of those have cost me really good deer. I was in such disbelief I wanted to blame my rifle but they have all been good strikes from the firing pin. Just crappy primers.

These rounds perform very well in 30-06. The reason they get 2 stars has nothing to do with performance. It has to do with the fact that Sig inexplicably priced a non-nickel plated, non bonded soft point 25 percent higher than at least 3 well established competitors in the market they are trying to break in to with the Venari. Clearly this has started to be addressed as the 308s are on significant clearance.

Shot 3 feral hogs with 2 bullets. Performed perfectly. MOA accurate out of my rifle. Knocked em dead.
