I Purchased this pistol in November 2018 . It is very very accurate with all 9 mm loads . I did not want a light rail which this M 11 does not have. I added Sig’s A2 grips which improve the handling of this pistol much better than the larger slicker standard grips! I have 550 rounds through it so far and not one hiccup at all!! I highly Recommend the Sig P229 to anyone wanting a great double action pistol

I bought this weapon expecting high quality and that's exactly what I got, I have not had any issues with this weapon. It's easy to maintain, the night sites on it are amazing. I plan to get a SIG M400 Treat in the future, I'm a firm believer in reliable weapons and Sig does not disappoint.

I have had my M11-A1 now for about three years. I is the Best Gun in the World. I was first issued an M11 in the Army. The first time I shot it I know it was better than the M9.

I bought this pistol for three reasons, first, it’s a DA/SA Sig, and second, I don’t have anything in this size, and lastly, it does NOT have a rail. I have three full size Sig pistols and have never had an issue with any, all are accurate, fit my hands well and are exceedingly reliable (I have never had a failure with any of them which is the most important part). I far prefer a hammer fired traditional double action to any other trigger system for a defensive pistol. While the double action pull on the M11-A1 is heavier than any of my other TDA pistols the single action and short reset will give a 3rd generation Smith a run for its money any time. It definitely has the best reset of any TDA trigger I have ever shot. As far as the rail goes, I just don’t care to have one on a compact pistol, I am not attaching some flashlight or laser that is going to stick out 2” past the muzzle it so I don’t need a rail (and putting an attachment on it defeats the “compact” purpose). I have had rails hang up on holsters too, especially those “universal” holsters that go in backpacks and such. Especially on a compact pistol a rail kills the clean lines of the firearm. I don’t mind a rail on the full size P-226 and P-227 since I do attach lights on those. For whatever reason the very first magazine I fired through the M11-A1 went about a foot low at 15 yards. It had to have been the ammunition because the next magazine went to point of aim and has shot there ever since. That first magazine was filled with the remains of a partial box of FMJ ammunition, everything since then has been from the same lot or quality defensive ammunition. It definitely has a preference for Federal HST’s. I did replace the factory grips with, well, factory grips. The standard plastic grips just were not to my liking and I purchased a set of the Sig laminated wood grips for the P-229 Equinox. They installed easily on updated M-11 grip and fit my hands much better. They are a bit slick on the backstrap but feel much better to me than the plastic grips. The rosewood were out of stock at the time but were also a consideration, I think the darker Equinox ones probably do look better on the pistol. Overall the “little” Sig is one of my favorite to shoot and carry.

This was a nice addition to a collection of P22x pistols. Some sight adjustment was needed to center my groups when shooting from a rest. The original trigger was uncomfortable in DA. A GG trigger solved the problem. The original guide rod is hollow, which does not help with balance. These are minor preference issues. The product and experience have been good.

I purchased my M11-A1 new in April, 2019. The pistol was in pristine condition and came with three 15 Round Magazines. I did a field strip, clean, and lube. The inside looked as good as the outside without any visible tool marks. The magazine spring is strong and the 15th round was difficult to load in all three magazines. I loaded the magazines with 14 rounds and let them sit for 24 hours. Then over the next few days, every 24 hours, I emptied the magazines completely, and reloaded them trying to get that 15th round loaded. Little by little, one by one, I was able to load all three magazines to their 15 round capacity. My first trip to the range I fired 140 rounds thru the M11-A1, 100 rounds FMJ, and 40 rounds of assorted self-defense ammo: Yavex 115 Grain FMJ 100 Rounds Magtech First Defense Bonded 124 Grain JHP 10 Rounds Hornady American Gunner 124 Grain +P XTP 10 Rounds Hornady Critical Duty 135 Grain +P FlexLock 10 Rounds Speer Gold Dot 124 Grain +P GDHP 10 Rounds The M11-A1 was flawless with all of the above ammo. The pistol shot point-of-aim/point-of-impact. The Short-Reset/Short-Reach Trigger is by far the best I've ever fired on any out-of-the-box, Double-Action/Single Action duty pistol. Standing with a two handed grip, firing rapid, controlled pairs, baseball size center mass groups at 12 yards were the norm. Head shots at the same distance were also easily achievable in both double and single action. To sum up the M11-A1's first range trip, zero malfunctions, zero issues, zero concerns.

I've been a SIG owner and fan for decades, as well as having owned pistols from just about every major firearms manufacturer you can name. I had owned numerous P226's (and still do), but never looked seriously at the P229, due to not being a fan of the standard grips. Three years ago I took the SIG armorers course and we used P229's with the E2 grip in the class. The E2 made the P229 the best feeling pistol I'd ever owned. I came straight home and ordered the M11A1. I'm not a fan of rails on compact pistols, and I liked that the M11A1 is essentially designed for the 40/ 357, so it is like an overbuilt tank for the 9mm. The M11A1 is in my opinion, based on nearly two decades of carrying pistols for a living, the greatest handgun ever invented. Hands down. Full stop. And I've tried them all. In fact, I plan to purchase a second M11A1 in the near future, so that if they ever stop production, I'll have a replacement. It's that good. Why are you still reading this review?...go order one.

Ive had this weapon for 2 years now. No matter what ammo I have pushed through this workhorse, it has digested it without any failures. Its accurate as long as I am doing my job behind the trigger. Finish is great, and it was a big plus that Sig added 3 magazines with this gun. Makes it carry, and competition ready out of the box. Only room for improvment would be the grip in my humble opinion. Its wide, and the plastic tends to allow the gun to shift in my hand during firing at times. I should say that this is more of an individual preference however, and by no means a design fault. UID sticker came off after the 3rd cleaning. Only modifications I have made to date was to replace the SRT trigger with a flat trigger(Much improved feel for me....once again a personal preference) Daily CCW weapon, as well as pistol league gun.

I have carried Sigs and shot thousands of rounds over a 32 year law enforcement career. Now, after retirement, I continue to carry the M11-A1. This weapon has it all. Mag capacity, accuracy, simple take down for cleaning, and Sig's constant reliability. In a gunfight, you will either survive or you won't survive. With proper training, the M11-A1 will increase you're chances of survival.

I bought my M11-A1 several years ago after they came out. Since then I have fired several thousand rounds through it with no failures what so ever. Once I used it in a Personnel Protection Outside the Home class where in two weekends I fired over 1200 rounds with no cleaning in between and no failures. Love this firearm.

I have owned many handguns over a career in law enforcement and time in the corps. My needs changed with assignments and other interests but, at this time in my life, this is my weapon of choice. Age (mid 80's) and infirmities have limited my selection of caliber and function, but the M11-Al allows me to accurately and rapidly place fire on the target. A set of Sig black grips were the only addition . Just the best !

Fit and finish is superb for a duty pistol. Reliability hasn’t been an issue for 500 Initial rounds without cleaning. Night sights are great bonus. Trigger is by far still the best of any DA/SA pistols I’ve shot.

Purchased this amazing firearm over 1.5 years ago, roughly 800 rounds of 124 gr. JHP/FMJ through it, and NO issues! The tolerances on this firearm are tight! DA is long and heavy (what I love), and SA is beyond words, with a short reset that has me smiling all day!!! I carry it in a BlackPoint Tactical custom Sig IWB holster, and I only wish I had unlimited ammo to shoot it everyday!

I've owned my M11-A1 (or P228, which the grip says, or P229, which is what it REALLY is) for over 2 years now - it was the first Sig Sauer I ever bought. Waited until now to write a review on it, as I think its pointless to review something until you've lived with it for awhile. So, after 2 years, 2 sets of grips and over 2,500 rounds of various different ammo through it, here is my impression of it. 1.) Although not quite as wonderful as a high-end 1911 trigger, Sig's SRT is pretty darn impressive. Being a revolver guy, the DA/SA is right up my alley, and having a decocker is a feature I no longer could consider not having. 2.) The Siglight tritium night sights work as well (if not better) than any I have used before. 3.) I have fed this thing various different brand/weight/design ammo and have never EVER had a failure of ANY kind. I've never had a failure in a revolver either, but have had a few in other semi-auto pistols - hard to have confidence in a firearm after one. 4.) Not a big fan of the plastic grips - they are certainly adequate but I wanted something better so I ordered some Sig rosewood grips. Quality was great, they looked great, but sadly they were a tad too thick for my hands, which aren't small. Put the stock ones back on - accuracy over looks, any day. Because of my positive experience with this firearm, I have added a P226 TacOps, P227 TacOps and P365 to my collection. Interestingly, my first Sig is now my least favorite, although NO fault of the gun - it shoots 9mm so smoothly that, dare I say it, it almost bores me. Regardless, I will never sell/trade it, as it was my introduction to Sig Sauer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Bought this about a month ago and have put 200 rounds through it. Besides an early jam (2nd overall clip), haven't had any issues. Very steady, shoots like a dream. Didn't think I'd like it as much as a full size handgun, but it feels good in my hands, and still commands some punch. Very thankful to Sig for a well made firearm.

I have grown up with rifles and pistols my whole life, however, this is the first that I have owned myself. I can't say enough about how great this pistol is. Easy of use, easy break down to clean and maintain, great handling for new and experienced users. I can fire several hundred rounds before any jams (having to clean and lubricate). Very accurate, well balanced, and great feel. Its a perfect fit!

This handgun had some similarities of what I owned back in the early '90's and THAT handgun was the Sig P228 in 9mm I absolutely LOVED that weapon with the accuracy and that it so sweet balance and when the M11A1 came I knew I had to have because it simply brought me back to those day's of when I shot that old P228 and now this NEW M11A1 did NOT disappoint.

5 years of service with over 5K rounds. Never one malfunction. Not even with one handed, strong or support hand, drills. No issues shooting from retention one handed. No breakages, stops or failures. No finish issues after 5 years of concealed carry and training courses. The short reset trigger will have you laying shots quicker than anyone else in your training courses. The excellent, non Glock, magazine release will drop mags how you want and when you want. The de-cocker will still feel good after training all day. The slide lock lever will allow for excellent malfunction clearing due to size and placement. Service is easy, even when it's time to dig deep into the slide and trigger components (not as easy as Glock, but easy). Changeable grips unlike Glock which is nice but the stock ones are still running strong. The MIL sticker will fall off as mine did, but so what. Night sights still going strong. No light rail, but so what. Milt Sparks will make a fine holster for it as well. I bought a P226 Legion and sold it. This is my Sig.

Superbly balanced, extremely reliable and very accurate. In my mind, the best DA/SA "compact" sized handgun there is.

I bought this on a recommendation from my sin in law, who had shot one. The pistol is smooth shooting and very accurate! The trigger reset is as smooth as my Walther Q5 Natch, and that’s saying quite a bit. As always, Grabagun is excellent to do business with.
