2 years agoI've always wanted a .44 Mag my whole life, and let me tell you, this gun is one of my dream guns. Accurate, powerful, and made like a Swiss clock. First time I shot it, I went through over 50 rounds of stout .44 Mag, I was surprised how much it recoiled. While it does recoil pretty heavily, it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected.

2 years agoHad this same pistol in a different brand. Shot my neighbors Smith & wesson and knew I had to have my own SMith & Wesson instead of the other brand. Great gun, will be used for personal protection against bears & mountain lions.

1 year agoThis is about the beSt S&W 44mag i ever owned and i have had a few over the last 45-50 years. I like the tight locked up the clyinder. The tightest i ever saw. I changed the grip to the hoGue tammer. No trigger gard hit the finger with thus grip. I will keep this one till the end. Then it will go to my son. Buy one this 5” claSsic is the best.

1 year agoshoots BULLs-EYES at 15 yards tight out of the box. recoil is no worse than a .357 magnum. only complaint is i wish it had wooden grips as the rubber ones are to sticky in florida humidity and leave your grip hand black and very sticky

1 year agoI don't know what is happening with Smith and Wesson, but this revolver was HORRIBLE! I have not been able to shoot this gun in the two months I've owned it. First, the cylinder didn't "stop" on 4 chambers during double action dry fire. When I looked closely, the cylinder stop was hanging up. When I looked closer, they had filed it so thin that there wasn't any "meat" left. I found out why when I took it apart. Rather than fix a burr in the stop window, they just filed the stop itself. … Read More

1 year agoThe is surprisingly comfortable for a 44 magnum, and if you’re the kind of person who likes stainless firearms, then you’ll love this one.

1 year agoI like it. I also have a four inch barrel one. Also, when I go to the range. I take this one, my rifle and three boxes of ammo and have some fun.

1 year agoJust received today. Love everything about it. Its now Definitely my Favorite gun purchase. S&W hand-cannon…such an impressive piece of workmanship. Ran 50 thru w/out any issues. Hitting low on target…it will take some time getting adjusted to the recoil, but not as bad as i’d thought it’d be. Trigger pinched my finger a few times but those will CALLOUS over soon:) Gag…always superp dealing with them. Quoted me a price i could not turn down. I cant wait to take it out for round 2. Also ready to place another order w/Gag asap!!!

1 year agoNo chance to fire this weapon yet but feels great in my hand, classic good looks. Pulls up naturally for me and makes a good sight picture. Curious how the factory grip will feel when shooting, maybe I’ll get a thicker Hogue. Trigger pull is stiff and gritty in DA but should wear in with use

1 year agoI bought this revolver from guns.com at an amazing price, similar to what you would have seen before the pandemic/shortages. Guns.com not only provided a great price but great customer service and extremely fast shipping. The gun hasn’t been fired yet but it is in amazing condition and nice and clean from factory. The weight and balance of the 5 i...Read More Read more about review stating Extremely satisfied!!

1 year agoGood balance and comfy with lighter loads . With stronger defensive rounds hold on , it will take a punch . This is an equalizer !

1 year agoWas dirty when I got it. Thinking the people in the shop played with it, but will never admit to it. Cleaned up beautiful! I wear large gloves and it fits well in my hands to include trigger reach. DA and SA is smooth and predictable. Bought the five inch barrel and due to its great balance. Shipping was real fast. 1 year agoThis is a great revolver and came very quickly to my FFL. Fit and finish are very nice. I was very surprised how well my Taurus 44 compares to the 629. The Taurus is a little beefier overall than the 629 in the frame and cylinder and both have tight lockup with very similar trigger pull feel. Still, the S&W 29/629 is an iconic revolver and a g...Read More Read more about review stating Nice 629

1 year agoDon't know much about it right at the moment got to hold it at the dealer for a minute and that's as far as it's gone. Hopefully soon I will get to fire it but just waiting on the state of Oregon right now

1 year agoSir/Ma’am, My carry on all missions the first few years was a Ruger 6 inch “Police Special,” (.357 mag). We’d shoot around 5K rounds/week stateside, (pretty much all of it/the ammo “borrowed”) from our beloved Marine brethren). Luv those jarheads! Problem was, when down range, it wasn’t enuff to penetrate steel/concrete. Detectiv...Read More Read more about review stating Sir/Ma’am, My carry on all

1 year agoA good solid powerful gun. However a bit long on the trigger travel in the double action mode. In single action mode it's just right.

1 year agothis is my first revolver. I wasn't sure if I jumped in too deep. I have S&W semi auto pistol and there're great, so getting a S&w revolver was a no brainer. I have to say the weight and grip gave me concern but after going to the range and shooting 180gr then305gr rounds I knew this was a great choice. I'm looking to add another S&W revolver (357 mag) soon. S&W quality, price, power
