Great gun, very well made, can find no fault with the gun. Great Smith & Wesson quality, and they corrected all of the problems the old models had!

When I got this model 66 home, I took it apart for a good clean, polish, and lube, although it didn't need it. Afterwards, I went to the range and ran 38, 38+P, and 357Mag through it. The 38 were as fun as plinking with a 22, the 38+P were easily manageable, and the 357 were stout but manageable in the stainless steel K-frame with full length grips. I bought this gun to be a carry gun that I didn't have to worry about wear, rain, sweat, and it turns out to be my favorite handgun.

Very nice revolver, I was surprised by the trigger. It is not as heavy as reviews say and mine has a very smooth pull. Put some VZ grips on it and it's a shooter

Best concealed carry revolver. I have the 686 , which I think overall is the best wheel gun, a bit large. but for cc, the 66 is the choice.perfect size , 6 shot, straight shooter. Fits my hand . 357 no problem.

Fit form and function seem ok. It has a 2 piece barrel and the cylinder lockin method is a DETENT. It's a new design and THERE were some quality problems during the first production run but the 66 the i received is pretty nice. No issues as of yet. Added a Hogue grip.

Proud owner of a new S&W 66 2.75". Fit and finish is excellent. factory rubber grips are ok, just not quite perfect feeling for my hands, may try a boot grip. like the new locking system & two piece barrel, giving option of steady magnum diet. felt heavy at first but carries very well w/ minimalist style leather belt holster. handles full magnum loads very well, you still get the bark but not the bite. 38spl is no problem at all and almost too easy to shoot. very accurate right out of the … Read More

The pistol is exactly what I was hoping for. The sight radius and picture are excellent and the handgun, right out of the box, WAS extremely accurate. I have had custom grips made for several revolvers I have owned. there was no need to do that with this gun. the factory grips are amazingly comfortable and the weapon points perfectly with those grips. the trigger action is a little stiff, but that will, of course, break in with more rounds fired. the transaction itself was completely … Read More

I Just picked up my new Model 66-8, 2.75 inch, COMBAT Magnum. I think it is going to be my favorite revolver. It feels great and balanced in the hand. The hogue Grip feels fantastic. The action is very smooth. I can not wait to shoot it!

Does what it was intended for which is to be a self defense carry gun....sights are good....trigger squeeze is average......the thumb notch for opening the cylinder for spent shell ejection is not as smooth as I would expect....over all it's fine.

Had to ship it back to the factory after 50 rounds at the range. Cylinder locked closed. Factory had it five weeks! Working fine now. Irritating, shouldn’t have been shipped. Free repair, no letter when returned, don’t know what they did or why.

I have owned this handgun for 35 yrs. I have Made modifications to personalize the weapon. I installed a new trigger mechanism with a very light touch, actually to light. I also installed a new hammer longer and wider easier softer on my thumb. I have extra large hands so I needed new grips. I purchased wood hand grips and had them shaped to fit my finger and thumb placement. I also changed the rear sites for better adjustments due to my right eye vision correction. All this after I

Our second S&W revolver. The first is an antique from circa 1900 that only shoots sub-sonic rounds. This pistol has the weight you need to shoot full power .357 loads without painful recoil. It's 33.5 ounces of sturdy K-frame steel. We bought this mainly for my wife who prefers revolvers to semi-autos. She loves it, and now I want one too. She insisted on the rubber combat grips and we're both glad she did. They really help with getting a firm grip that doesn't twist in your hand when firing off

Fits nicely in a galco combat master holster and handles full loads nicely. What more can you ask for.

I like the size of the K frame. It's lighter to carry than the L frame and handles the 357 magnum much better than the J frame. With the 2.75 inch barrel it's ideal for woods carry and if you like EDC. I was actually surprise how well it handles the recoil from the 357 magnum. Has a good smooth trigger and it's a shooter. I'm very happy with the S&W model 66 Combat with the 2.75in barrel.

I haven’t shot it yet, but it is exactly what I was looking for. The grips are slightly big for my hands. I will consider replacement grips in the future. The trigger feels excellent. There was a very small knick on the edge of the cylinder. It seems like minor flaws are common from the factory. If this is important to you, make sure to carefully inspect before receiving. These revolvers are a bit difficult to find, so you may consider accepting what you can get if the gun is intended to be a shooter (which it should be!). If six isn’t enough, it might serve as a nice club in an emergency.

Shot my new 66 three days in a row. Dead nuts on target. Great trigger. Beautiful craftsmanship. Of course it’s a S&W!

With its beefier forcing cone, full-length ejection rod, and new ball-dent lockup, the improvements made to the modern S&W 66 are incredible. No more worries about shooting a steady diet of .357 magnum. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the satin stainless finish but after seeing it in person, it's simply beautiful. This is a high quality moder...Read More Read more about review stating Fantastic firearm; smooth transaction

Don't know enough about the gun yet. Purchased for everyday carry. First impression is that it is too heavy for everyday carry. I only buy revolvers and I only buy Smith & Wesson. Have never been disappointed with quality.

The pistol is well made, and shoots good, but I believe it needs a few tweeks to make it a great gun. The trigger pull on double action is a bit stiff out of the box (15lb pull) needs a lighter spring, and the sights aren't the best. I'm sending the pistol to a gunsmith to replace the sights and spring to make this a great gun.
