Of all the .44 Mag pistols i’ve Owned. This is the best by far. 5 rounds are small enough for CCW. People can tell that I am packing with the 6 rounders.

Grab a Gun has the best prices online. The delivery was quick. The placing of the order was easy. Quality of the firearm is outstanding. I am happy with my S&W model 69 44 mag.

Great woods gun. I added the Hogue S&W 500 grip to it and it takes the recoil quite a bit. The gun points instinctively and is more accurate than I am. I do experience some torquey recoil but that is a worthwhile trade off for the easy packing in the woods of a light revolver.

Seems to shoot well but the build quality of S&W revolvers today is not what it was 25-30 years ago. MIM parts, a sleeved barrel, and a few marks/blemishes on the stainless straight from the factory. So 25 years later, you pay much more but receive less.

Love It the L frame fits my hand like a glove been wanting a 44 mag but the N frame was to large for my hands it shoots real nice have a lot of fun shooting the 44 special and a few mag

My 69 was great, the black screws really added character to the matte stainless finish... that crane lockup really enhanced the strength. The ONLY issue is accessories: if you spend around $50 you can get a proper speed-loader.... for a 629 it's about $10; finding holsters is also an issue, hint: just get one for a S&W 29. The weight and size differences vs the 29 are little, I gifted mine away and got a 629 just for a working speed loader. HINT the grip is the same as the 29 so get 29's grip replacements. Beautiful gun and GrabAGun is the only place to get one!

When ya just wanna carry a 44 but having 3+ pound N frame hanging off your hip isnt gonna cut it is the reason to buy this one. I load mine with 44 spcl for two legged threats and 44 mag for camping, fishing, hiking adventures and need not worry about the heft of a bigger gun. Being a little thinner too makes it easier to conceal as well. Great gun at a good price. With less weight ya gotta watch firing those +p mag loads though It can be handful. Even though it comes with rubber grips I would switch them out for some softer hogues. If ya want one dont hesitate to purchase, you'll love it.

This is an L-frame 44Mag 5-shot revolver. This means it is 44Mag on a 357Mag frame, hence why it is a 5-shot & not a 6-shot. When you fire 44Mag in this, (even target ammo), it stings the hands. I prefer it over the lighter 6-shot N-Frame 329-PD as that one is way lighter at 25.2 OZ. Watch Jerry Miculek's video & Hickok45's.

I love the overall size and APPEARANCE of the gun, but the grips that come on the revolver do nothing to dampen the recoil of full-house 44 MAGNUM loads. I had to do what others on vArious forums suggested and switch out the grips with ones from a s&w 500 magnum. While not as attractive as the ORIGINALs, the make the recoil more MANAGEABLE.

Well, was it five or six ? beautiful in the hand. updated stronger metals , nice lighter weight for more comfort to carry. well balanced and shoots very accurately . I love this revolver. thanks grabagun for having this offered. it's one of my favorites. i did retighten the cylinder release screw due to vibration.

Haven’t shot it yet, bought Hogue grips so it now looks and feels great. Can’t wait to get it to the range. Where’s my 29 4 inch?

Wanted a medium sized 44mag that wasn't a burden to carry as I plan on actually using it, AND i love the combat magnums. One of the few 44mags that are a carryable size. Recoil is stout though

i did not accept the gun it appeared to be used had severe copper fouling and powder in barrel well worn ring on cylinder and groove worn in recoil plate not from normal handling at store

I fired 25 rounds through it and the action locks up. I took it home and cleaned it and today I fired 30 rounds thru it and it locked up again. You can not pull the trigger. The cylinder won't turn. These are light 44 special loads. I am sending it back to S&W. I have currently 6 other S&W revolvers along with the dozens of other S&W revolvers over the past 50 years and never had a problem after firing over 100,000 plus rounds with them.

This is my first .44mag that I’ve purchased. Doesn’t feel heavy and handles fully powered magnum rounds nicely. Plan is to carry in bear country and couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

Plenty of power and tolerable recoil, even in my mid 60's I can shoot a box of 50 full power rounds over a couple of hours, my hand will be a bit sore for a few days but well worth the fun.

Honestly, the balance of this revolver is perfect and it's a shame they didn't come up with an L frame .44 Mag a long time ago. I shoot this side by side with my 4.125" 686 and it shoots just as good, out of the box was shooting one hole groups at 7 yards in double action. I replaced the grip with the Hogue X-frame Tamer grip which makes a huge difference in felt recoil. I have RA and with that grip I do not have any after effect of the recoil. Shoots great with .44 Special ammo too!

My only S&W revolver. I always wanted a 5 shot medium frame 44 mag. At first only taurus had one and they are of questionable quality. Finally smith came out with this and initial reviews were spotty. My revolver however has been perfect so far. I have a few hundred rounds through and extraction has been perfect even with HSM 305gr bear load. Recoil is stout with full power ammo but it carries very well. This is my new hunting sidearm for sure. Use an L frame holster and hks charter arms bulldog 44 speed loaders. Loctite the screw on the cylinder latch. Great revolver!!!

Great quality piece don’t go anywhere in the woods without it , where I spend a lot of time. Strapped to my Chest in my Black Hawk shoulder harness I recommend on Amazon. Used to carry my Baretta I gave to my son because I couldn’t rack any more due to hand injury.

Great.44 Magnum, smaller and lighter than a 629, easier to carry but only five rounds. Very accurate and has a nice trigger, which gets better after a couple hundred rounds. I have a couple Performance Center that are in the same weight, but the cost of these 629s are double the cost of the model 69, bang for the buck it’s a great deal!
