I highly recommend considering the Shield Plus. The grip texture, angle, and dimensions really make this small gun handle easier than most small guns. I shot several different guns before choosing and have had a few trips to the range now. With 300 rounds through it, no regrets.

I loved this gun for years. When they increased the capacity I bought it right away. You won't regret this one.

Feels very good in the hand, put 70 rounds through it with zero issues. Handles recoil like a much bigger gun, very easy to aim and very easy to be accurate with.

This is an "alright" handgun, But I don't like compact guns This pistol doesn't have the accuracy that my full sized S@W in .40 cal has. I'm adding a green dot optic, and hope that helps. I got this gun for DEFENSE and it's not my first choice in weapons, but it's just OKAY The grips I feel are way too rough and the frame and barrel a...Read More Read more about review stating This is an "alright" handgun,

A great firearm. Shot flawlessly right out of the box. Super easy to conceal. Very little recoil for such a small barrel and a smooth trigger.. Just ordered the 15rd mag for it that comes with the Equalizer.

I'm relatively new to shooting. The Shield Plus is the second firearm I've owned and shot, but I'm very glad I bought it. It came with a hard plastic case, an EDC kit (knife and flashlight), and 10 and 13 round magazines. The form factor is very comfortable in terms of grip, with a smooth and light trigger pull, and good reset. I really love the n...Read More Read more about review stating I'm relatively new to shooting.

I wear an XL glove and this compact 9 fits nicely into my hand. The trigger guard is the perfect size. Despite the grip being slightly smaller than what I expected it is easy to pull out of the holster with finger ready and off the trigger. For me, breakdown is a challenge based on field stripping multiple Glocks. Otherwise excellent weapon.

Well balanced and powerful pistol along with enough ammo lethal force that can be concealed carry everywhere.

Would definitely recommend. The only downfall is that although it is optic ready, it doesn't come with the optics screw kit for various optics.

I have owned several Shields. This the best trigger out of the box, but still not as smooth and crisp as an Apex upgrade. The slightly wider grip is a definite improvement for larger hands - without affecting concealability. The extra 3 rounds in the 'flush' magazine are a real bonus. The extended magazine (13 rounds) felt better than the extended magazine for the standard Shield. (The extended magazine on the standard Shield always seems loose in my grip). Accuracy is as good as I can

Great gun! I have the Shield .40, and wanted something with more rounds. You can barely notice the width change. And at 13 +1, capacity is greatly improved.

This is now my primary carry weapon. Trigger is better than stock Glock. Grips were rough but a Talon grip overlay solved that problem.

Still thin. High capacity. Trigger and grip improved. Good choice for CC. I have the other Sub-9s. Like the Plus as much or more.

It's what I've been looking for. Small, lightweight and good capacity and the right grip angle. However my sample has a somewhat weak vague trigger reset. I'll be installing an Apex trigger kit on mine soon as I've already installed the same brand kit on my shield 2.0 which has an awesome action. kudos to Apex Tactical for their awesome trigger kits. NOTE: It's S&W's micro compact shield plus not an ultra compact plus. PSA got the description wrong.

Love this pistol! I have the original shield also and I will say S&W has stepped their game up with this. More round capacity without sacrificing size. The trigger is so much better than before, and the grip out of the box I have no need to change. This really is a great carry weapon.

Looks like they didn't make the frame wide enough to fit the magazines so they took some kind of grinder to the inside of it to make them fit right. I sent it back to Smith and Wesson immediately. Looks horrible. This will be the last Smith and Wesson product I will buy.

Typical S&W quality. Trigger is to my liking although some may want a lesser weight trigger. Comes with right thumb magazine release and two magazines. I wish the second magazine also had the magazine extension for your pinky finger (really my only complaint).

My first Shield. I've owned a Sig P938 for 5 years and loved it but couldn't add an optic (I don't consider dove tail mounts to be an option). I've got large hands and the Shield Plus with extended mag feels great.

This is my third Shield product (the OG, Model 2.0, and now the Plus). I love the gun, but I can't say I haven't cheated on it. The Springfield Hellcat gave the Shield Plus a good run, but in the end the Shield Plus won out. At the end of a range session you just have to ask, how much fun is it to shoot this gun? Because, if it's not fun, you won't practice with it, and will likely get a case of fumbleitis when you most need smoothness. The Shield Plus shoots like a much bigger gun. I
