California compliant design prevents the magazine release button from being engaged while fully assembled, locking the magazine into the receiver. To release the magazine from the rifle, the shooter will be required separate the upper from the lower by pulling on an extended (rear) takedown pin with an attached cord to make the process easier. Once the magazine has been released the rifle can be re-assembled and shot once again.

1 year agoWhen ordering this rifle, be careful about exactly which features it has. There are several variations and if you are not careful you might get a rifle that is missing features you want. For example, one variation that included sights came with a capped barrel, something I did not want. Also, the version with the A Pilar cannot be modified to a flat top, so if you are planning on having that feature make sure you get the right variation of the rifle. 1 year agoIt is a well made rifle. This is not my first rifle, but it is my first AR style firearm. I've taken it out and shot it using open sights and it shot as well as my eyes allow. I feel that adding a scope will inprove my accuracy with the M&P 15. Fun rifle to shoot!

1 year agoThe M&P sport 2 is a great rifle. I bought this one California compliant because of limited inventory that was available. I live in Colorado, so I took it to a tactical shop and added a pistol grip, adjustable stock, and a muzzle device.

1 year agoGreat for beginners learning the AR Style Rifle and veterans as well. AR does not stand for Assault Rifle and this is a S&M MP15 CA Compliant Sporting Rifle. Very easy to take down and I finally realized the beauty of simplicity.

1 year agoI put 200 rounds on this rifle and not a single malfunction. Great trigger nice clean break. I shot from 50 yards and 100 yards with great accuracy. I love the fact that it's treaded barrel so I can put muzzle break. I also added Maglock gen 4 and kingpin which allows me to install pistol grip and collapsible stock. I also change the furniture to Magpul Moe SL for the handguard and MRT minimalist for the stock. I install Romeo 5 for my red dot and Holosun HM3X for magnifier.

1 year agoFirst 223 for my 7 year old she is transitioning from the m&p15-22 and Savage precision 22 to 223 and she loves it and the gun is easy to shoot and reliable.

1 year agoBought this gun with intentions to modify it to have a free floating handrail. Gas block was a pain in the butt to get off! You definitely get a well put together gun!
