I bought this gun about 6 months ago and have fired around 500 rounds thru it with no issues at all. Very accurate and a fun gun to shoot!

I originally bought the 9mm 2.0 four months ago and loved shooting it so much I bought the 45APC too. I’ve never shot a subcompact 45 with a follow up shot as accurate. I have over 1K rounds through each with little issues. My 45 doesn’t like Wolf ammo it’s seems, it’s the only FTF that I’ve had. My only problem with owning both these guns is choosing which to carry on any given day.

Got this gun in a 9mm. Awesome trigger. Perfect for concealed carry. Dead on right out of the case. Love the ported barrel less recoil.

I purchased the M&P Shield .40 with Performance Center pckage. What a gun, ported barrel and slide. Fiber optic sites fron and back. It also has a safety. Only drawback, hard to load magazine (I now use a load assist $12). This gun is ranked high in quality and it shows. I would def recommend this weapon in base model or Performance Center.

I had a full-size 9 and wanted something for cc. I like this weapon for its ease of carry, accuracy, and reliability

I bought this because I wanted a conceal carry pistol in .45. Unfortunately I can’t find any ammo anywhere. So it sits in my gun cabinet waiting to be used.

I’ve been wanting to get this gun because of the quality and fit for my needs. I have put many rounds through it already, and it is a fun that I feel safe as in control of at all times.

This was my first gun purchase from BassPro and I definitely appreciated the customer service. Will go back for other gun supplies.

I will honestly share the pros and the cons... I'll admit that this was not my first choice for my concealed carry firearm. After HUNDREDS of HOURS of research and "test driving" several compact 9mm guns at the range, my first choice was the Sig P365 (with the manual safety). However, try and find one in the year 2020! So, I went with this tried and true S&W, and I'm very glad that I did. The Smith & Wesson M&P Shield is still a top seller for good reason, and I believe the M2.0 has an improved trigger from the original version. The Performance Center series is world-class. Also, these hi-viz sights are EXCELLENT! I can't believe they came standard for this price. Regarding the ported slide and barrel, personally, I can't speak to how much it mitigates muzzle flip, but some YouTubers have said that it does (check out Sootch00 's review for that). Of course, the trade-off is that it tends to get dirtier than the non-ported version. Speaking of getting dirty, you do need to clean/lube the gun BEFORE you use it the first time (read the manual). And speaking of, it comes with a nifty cleaning kit! While cleaning and prepping it for the range, I learned a few things about it that I DIDN'T like. The thumb safety and slide catch/release are extremely stiff and sharp around the edges on the frame where they are seated. I immediately hurt my thumb on the safety, and it took several days, before I was able to engage the safety again with my thumb. (**Read below to learn how I customized it to function for me.) Additionally, you have to rack the slide WAY farther back than you'd expect, before the slide catch can engage with it! AND the slide is sooo hard to rack (and I'm not exactly a whimpy woman... I workout with weights, but this slide gave me such a workout that my upper body was sore for several days!). Also, the take down lever is almost IMPOSSIBLE to engage! Basically, if you have any physical restrictions, such as, arthritis, hand injuries or muscle weakness, I would steer you away from this gun (for you, try the EZ). Hoping the recoil spring "softens" over time... **But here's how I made the controls more comfortable: I took down the gun, as per the manual, and using a sanding block, I filed down the edges of the thumb safety lever AND all the sharp edges on the frame, being very careful to let the filings fall away from the parts. (I followed up with some compressed air to be sure that no filings got inside any parts.) Then I added lube to all moving parts, and I manipulated all controls over and over, breaking them in. I also noticed that there's a large pin/plug under the take-down lever, that was preventing it from moving easily. I gently pushed that slightly more into the frame, so that the lever could be manipulated freely. It definitely made a difference! While I was at it, I also lightly sanded the stippling on the grips, because they were just a wee bit too aggressive against my skin. Anyway, now all of the controls and the edges around them are smooth and look very much "road worn." The thumb safety is now a pleasure to engage. Here are my lists of pros and cons: PROS: Quality gun and great price Comes with 2 mags: 7/+1 and 8/+1 Comes with awesome hi-viz sights Comes with a really nice cleaning kit in a carry case (keep it in your range bag!) Accuracy on target Plenty of aftermarket products (holsters, modifications, etc.) are available for this popular gun Great for concealed carry CONS: Extremely hard to rack slide and engage slide catch! Very sharp edges around controls (needs to be sanded down) No built in rails to attach light Manual safety comes standard on this model, so for anyone who doesn't want a safety, you'll have to look at a different model

I am very excited about this hand gun! This product not only functions wonderfully but is also reasonably priced. I was thrilled with the quality of service too! This was my first firearm purchase and the staff made it very simple and answered all my questions!

I’ve been packing 365 for 40 years. Grew up at range. Won shooting contests when 15 and shot thousands of rounds @ week growing up. Shield 2.0: 1 perfect grip width for liberal states. 2 pefect slide length for quick draw when tenths off seconds matter. 3 2.0 teiggger w break in is perfect for high stress combat 4 I can shoot this baby like yiu would t believe. All my sons say “Mr. Winters, you’re the last person I would want to get in a gun fight with.”…. This Shield is My Baby. 5 The extended grip is a deal because if you were in a situation where somebody knocks you off balance or you’re starting to fall backwards or you need to reach down in a hurry and you can’t get a good grip. That extended magazine on the shield two. Oh gives you enough real estate to get a really quick grip and a really quick shot off. And now is the time to start thinking about that. I think the micro Compaqs will not give you that . I put some better sites on it and I had a gunsmith to check ring on the footwork trigger guard my trigger is perfect I have the optimum CCW weapon in my shield 2.0. As the old saying goes,… Beware of the man that has only one gun… even though, I have many, my shield is my general standby and I am deadly with it and do not mess with me when my shield is on my hip!

I like the Shield 2.0 but the laser is nothing but problems. I got good support from S&W when the laser tore lose from it's moorings but I made the mistake of buyig a green laser direct from Crimson Trace because the red is not visible in sunlight. I've been through two bad green lasers and Crimson Trace Customer Support seems to have shut down. They haven't picked up the phone or answered an email for the last two weeks. My advice: get a green laser but don't get it from Crimson Trace.

I bought this pistol in 9mm a couple of months ago. I have several 9mm but this one is by far my favorite. I am shooting Winchester silver tip 115gr and blazer brass 115gr fmj at the range. They both perform flawlessly. The ported barrel is pretty neat too. Not sure it helps with recoil but the fire shooting out in a "v" sure is neat. I am a 60 year old female and I have no trouble using this pistol. The fiber optics are great also. I prefer the 8 round magazine because it gives me more to hold on to. I highly recommend you give this pistol a try.

Good gun. Chattanooga TN store does not participate in current gift card promotion for this exact item sku 2473402. Consider getting from a Bass Pro location that does.

I bought this gun 3 years ago in 40 S&W. After the third shot, the frame cracked, rendering the gun unusable. Smith & Wesson refuses to repair their pile of garbage, and only offered to sell me another one. Internet searches verified that this is a recurring problem with M&P Shields.

Beautiful gun. Perfect size for smaller hands. Sights make finding your target easy. I've only put 100 rounds through it so far, but with no problems.

I will admit, I am a Glock snob. I won’t spend a third more money for a Sig especially since I have owned Glocks since 1994 and I am in law enforcement and that is all we shoot. My wife saw this gun read the reviews and once she placed it in her hands the romance began. Glock didn’t have anything that I was aware of that fit the bill for her hands. I have since discovered the 43x. That being said, I own a 43X MOS but the trigger pull, and the crispness of the trigger wall is no joke. I hated to admit to her that I enjoyed her gun more than mine. Since I have optics and a weapon mounted flashlight on my 43x in needed something to fit my new Urban Carry Holster so I used her S&W. She wants her S&W back so I ordered myself one since it was on sale. Highly recommended!!

I can not say enough about this gun Amazing. Would be just the tip of the iceberg.small compact. Not heavy at all conceals easily. And has all the stopping power of a 45 with out the recoil of bigger 45s. I have had friends who are peace officers check it out and shoot it. All have raved about how light and ez it is to put round after round on target. Infact 2 have since purchased from seeing mine. Looking for a great gun it can be beat as a full time carry or back up.i Highly recommend it.
