Originally manufactured in 1955 and now offered through the companys Classics line the Smith Wesson Model 29 is an N-frame revolver chambered in .44 Magnum. At the time it was first introduced the Model 29 was the most powerful handgun in production but the guns greater fame came nearly 20 years later after it was used by the fictional movie character Dirty Harry. The double-action revolver features a 6-round capacity was manufactured in a number of barrel lengths and available with either a blued or polished nickel finish. Historically the Model 29 has been favored by law enforcement hunters and handgun enthusiasts but also makes a suitable weapon for home defense.

2 years agoI thought the 6.5 inch barreled Model 29 was my favorite. But this 4” may be the ideal winter/fall EDC .44 magnum. The N-Frame is big enough to handle the recoil but is a great carry size at least in the north. The gun shoots well, and is very accurate. If you it on your mind, get it’

1 year agoI think I am going to like this model. I don't know yet. I am waiting for better weather to try it. It is the model I wanted. And I very much doubt there will be a problem.

1 year agoThis was my first purchase through guns.com and it was easy. Delivery was within a few days of ordering. The revolver itself is a work of art and shoots where you aim it. Yes, there is recoil (I use 240 grain fmj), but it is manageable and will not knock you over. I am 73, relatively small in stature, and will carry this from time to time dependin...Read More Read more about review stating A Great Addition To Any Collection

1 year agoThis gun beutiful with its blued finish. Its fun to shoot and accurate. The double action trigger pull is smooth and the single action break is crisp. The 4 inch barrel is not for biggers or for muscularly challenged.

1 year agoOwning a SW 29 is all about the history and experience of firing that piece of history. It’s not a comfortable shoot but it’s an experience you will not forget. I plan to keep mine as an heirloom piece to put on display. I’ll take it to the range now and then to shoot.

1 year agoFinally was able to purchase this model 29 to complete a bucket list that was almost 50 years old! This firearm will never be fired by me and will be passed on to my son! If he wants to fire it, I’ll never know about it Lol! I purchased a 629 SS 44 mag a couple years ago to be a weapon that I can use in the field and target shoot.

1 year agoI have wanted a Model 29 since I saw my first “Dirty Harry” movie. It was super cool in 1972 and it’s super cool today! I haven’t had the opportunity to shoot it, but I’m looking forward to doing so! I’m still in the “I can’t believe this beauty is mine” phase! I absolutely love it!

1 year agoExactly what I wanted. I had one in 1973 and sold it to a friend. I have regreted selling ever since. I bought this one and it is perfect.

1 year agoVery happy with the pistol but was a little disappointed to see a $102 price drop two days after the purchase. Buyers be aware that there is a charge when you go to the FFL Gun Store to pick up your purchase.

1 year agoEasy, quick and thorough transaction. Was sent to my FFL dealer in no time! The next time I’m in the market to buy another gun, I’ll be shopping here for sure!

1 year agoBeautiful gun. I've rarely seen a better-looking gun. It's hard to tell about these Smith and Wesson revolvers from photos...in general, I'd say that mine resembles the picture, but under ordinary light the bluing looks a little deeper and darker than most photos(which I prefer, anyway). The wood stocks look better than they do in the picture, too...Read More Read more about review stating Beautiful gun. I've rarely seen
