The 6” barrel gives accuracy as well as providing balance to this powerful beast and a Red Ramp sight gives quick target acquisition in those emergency situations. Whether you are hunting large game or need protection from massive grizzlies, the Model 629 revolver gives you the stopping power you need.

Awesome Revolver, smooth action and well balanced. Manageable with full magnums and comfortable with specials. Only issue i had was the grips. I don't have large mitts and the factory grips cover the back strap making the trigger reach a little long. I swapped out for some hogues and now it fits my hand better.

The S&W Model 629-6 is built on S&W N-frame and weighs in about 45 ounces which helps to manage the recoil from 240 grain 44 mag rounds. The rubber grips help soak up the recoil and it has a good balance and feel in my hand. The sights are good single action breaks crisp and the double action like most S&W you can stage the trigger..

best gun i own. the action is buttery smooth, but it seems to digest anything from 44 special to strong loads easily and accurately. love the oversized hammer, the grips, the excellent action and the sights. there is a balance and beauty to this gun that must be seen and felt to believe.

I bought this because I wanted a 44 magnum, and it’s hard to beat S&W. I wasn’t expecting the balance to be as good as it is, and the action is very smooth right out of the box. The sheer mass can easily handle full-power 44 magnum loads, and shooting 44 special is about like shooting a small 22 LR revolver. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one of these up.

I use this with hot and medium lOads, plus .44 SPL. very happy with accuracy, fit and finish, its just a stunning firearm. The lockwork is so smooth and precise and the stainless steEl looks great! Its a shooter, too, with the original grips and manages recoil well. .44 SPC loads are a deLight.

The single Action trigger is good. The double Action pull needs work. It is somewhat Difficult to keep the front sight on target. A “trigger” Job is in the future for this revOlver. This has been the casE with all of my S&W revolvers.

Grab-A-Gun service was exceptional! I'm a certified factory trained Smith and Wesson armorer. The build quality is excellent. However, the finish was absolutely not up to par, with areas of the FRAME behind the recoil cheek left unpolished. Smith and Wesson used to pride itself on producing revolver finishes of impeccable quality, and gave their Model 29 guns very special flagship attention. That is apparently no longer the case. A great gun, but they need to clean up their quality before boxing.

some don't care for s&w's political positions. i've never had a big bear refuse to be shot with an s&w. bought this for bears in the country where i hike. i practice with both .44 specials and .44 mag. superb piece. Love the trigger pull. For me, recoil is not an issue. your experience may differ! lol!

Eat your heart out Dirty Harry. Love this classic in stainless steel. Took this bad boy to the range and had everyone in my shooting lane looking to see where that big blast and shock wave was coming from.
