My new S&W 686 is everything I expected. Like most S&W revolvers it is solid, and locks up like a bank vault. The trigger is excellent, a big advantage over other brands. I did have to purchase aftermarket grips because my hands are small and the factory grips are for average-to-large hands. I like the 4" barrel model. It seems to be the best compromise between sight radius, weight, balance and so forth. I expect the 686 to last the rest of my lifetime and be handed down to future generations. It is solid, well-made, accurate, and reliable.

EVERY REVIEW ON THIS WEB-SITE & ON ANY OTHER WEB-SITE I HAVE EVER SEEN GIVES THE SMITH & WESSON 686 4 INCH 5 STARS!!!! THERE ARE REASONS FOR THAT..IF YOU WANT A .357 REVOLVER THAT IS SIMPLY DESIGNED TO BE SHOT AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE & THAT SHOOTS WELL...THIS IS IT !!!! SIMPLY PUT..IT WORKS...I HAVE HAD 4 OF THEM IN MY LIFE 2 NEW & 2 USED...NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH ANY OF THEM. !!!!

Nice gun shoots excellent very accurate it could use a different grip when shooting hot loads the trigger guard is to close to your finger and hits it hard when using hot ammo

The transaction went extremely well. GrabAGun and the FFL were both very professional and efficient. GrabAGun communicated via emails and kept me apprised of progress from the time that I placed the order until it was delivered to the FFL. Thank you.

The 686 may be the best one of all in my 66 years I have had a bunch of them. Smooth action and as I expected very accurate in both 38 and 357 Mag. It's not too heavy and the recoil is not that bad. Great gun for the money

This pistol is very accurate. I've shot more than 2000 rounds through it an it just keeps getting better. The trigger is really smoothing out now.

Trigger pull in double action is heavy enough to where it feels safe to carry but comfortable to shoot, and in single action trigger is light crisp and breaks like a glass rod. There's really not much at all I'd change with this fireaem. Well machined and totally solid, its just a big difference from the half plastic pistols I've been used to shooting.

im very pleased with this Revolver. It is very well balanced and the black rubber grips are a perfect fit and helps absorb some of the recoil. i would recommend this revolver for any serious revolver fans

What can I say that will add any more value. When perfection is made, words seem trivial in describing it. This s&w 686 resides in it's own lock box. It's at the ready to provide assistance in protecting our family. On that occasion, I hope will never come, it won't fail to perform. And a safe environment will be maintained.

This revolver is sweet! Powerful in 357 and easy to shoot in 38. Smooth hammer back to single action and manageable trigger pull in dA. Accuracy good at 10 FEET.

mY FIRST SMITH AND WESSON PRODUCT AND WHILE I WOULD LOVE TO OWN A MODEL 29 ala dirty harry smith and wesson, i am not a big guy and hate calibers with high recoil, so i am happy to own this model and being able to also run the much milder .38 special through it. the clean shooting and quality workmanship of the weapon make it a pistol to take pride in owning. fantastic price from grabagun when i purchased as well.

The pistol shoots good. the trigger is perfect in both single action and double action. It feels perfect in the hands and the sights line up perfectly when it is pointed at the target. If you can not hit with this pistol, it is on you, not the gun. the reason for only 4 stars is the finish. there were scratches all over the two sides. it looked like someone took a fine file and scratched the heck out of it. for a smith and wesson, and the money paid for the pistol, it should look new, not used.

Great, solid dependable firearm. I carried one in the past during my LEO career and wanted to get one of my own but the semi-auto craze was in full swing. Now that I have aged and arthritis is in season the revolver is much easier to use, load and shoot and this is a good one.

It's Smith & Wesson, I got the 686 to carry with my 629 Classic 8 3/8" .44 Mag as a back up in the woods. Got 2 flavors of bear, cougars, moose, and wolves. One cannot be to careful. There are others, probably would work just fine, but I have no doubt about the reliability, of either of my woods weapons, especially when my life is on the ...Read More Read more about review stating It's Smith & Wesson, I
