2 years agoBeautiful revolver with robust frame. If you are after the real gun, buy this. Feels like it will survive at least 1000 years. But beware of .357 mag it can be brutal in your hand depends on the grip type.

2 years agos&w 686 Was really accurate right out of the box. 21ft range, 2 boxes of .38spcl +P first followed by 50rds of .357mag. no rear sight adj needed. minus user error on sight-in, this revolver is spot-on. cleaned up well afterwards. recoil on .357mag is beastly but sticking to wood grips. i really like super vel ammo, both .38 & .357mag for defensive rounds in this. cheers.

2 years agoAwesome pistol, I've owned many pistols and this one is going to the grave with me. No, its not light or made of space age alloys, but if you want to actually shoot full power .357 magnum this is the pistol for you. da trigger smooths out fantastically and my sa is simply amazing.

2 years agoIt was hard to spend this much on a revolver, but I feel it was worth it. The best out-of-the-box trigger I've ever had, very accurate and just beautiful.

1 year agoThe revolver itself was not up to normal standards I expected from Smith & Wesson, most notably the fit at the crane. There was a tapered gap, yes, very minor, but noticeable none the less. That is an important area as it is where the cylinder locks AND aligns with the bore. It probably was not significant enough to affect performance or accuracy, however disappointing enough for me to cancel the purchase. That said, Sportsman’s warehouse was more than helpful and fully understood my

1 year agoSuper happy with my revolver. Took it to the gun range last week and she performed beautifully. Thanks to Sportsman’s Warehouse for shipping out the gun to a licensed FFL dealer in my area. Whole process went smoothly without delay.

1 year agoThis is a beautiful revolver. The unfluted barrel really makes it look nice and the wood grips look great. Super crisp single action trigger measures 3.7 lbs and the double action trigger is smooth and measured 10.0 pounds. The revolver handles the recoil of 357 rounds with ease and 38 special rounds even easier.

1 year agoBeautiful firearm. Trigger works like a dream in both DA and SA. Haven't shot it yet because there's simply no .38 Special or .357 ammo anywhere, however.

1 year agoI'm typically a semiautomatic shooter, but this gun changes my mind about revolvers. It's the best revolver I've ever fired. I like the beautiful grip, but prefer a softer Hogue type so I swapped it out. The weapon is easy to fire, accurate, with easy to use sights. I found a holster that fits perfectly and I also found speed loaders for the 7 rounds. I love the finish and the weight is balanced perfect for my liking. Would definitely buy again.

1 year agoI have not shot the gun yet but it is flawless from what I see has a nice Action. The gun polished up real well, so far I am very pleased with this gun.

1 year agoGreat all around revolver, not too large but has full sites, can easily handle the heavy shots, and has holds 7 rounds.

1 year agoThis is a quality firearm. Easy to use and fun. The weight of the frame handles the kick when the gun fires, along with the rubber grips. It is very accurate as well. Went out target shooting and the firearm made me look like an old pro! It looks and feels amazing. Thank you Sportsman's Warehouse!

1 year agoNice looking revolver. Feels good in hand, shoots great. 7 rounds of 357 ammo. Also uses 38 Special and 38 Special +P.

1 year agoI am reviewing this gun based on aesthetics and craftsmanship only as I have not had the opportunity to fire it yet. That said, I cannot wait to go shoot it - this gun is fantastic. I have had my eye on a .357 DA/SA for awhile, and after much research on my other options for a backwoods revolver, I finally landed on the 686+ w/ 3" barrel. I love the way it looks, and the trigger pull is great, even on the DA. The 3" barrel is great and while it has some heft, it will be a manageable gun to carry

1 year agoGreat gun. Accurate and fun to shoot 38 special rounds. 357 rounds are fine as well but I feel it a bit more than my GP100. Really nice gun and I would highly recoommend

1 year agoLove the gun. It really has a nice feel to it. Doesn’t kick that bad either. The only trouble is I had to send it back to Smith and Wesson as the sights are off. Using a laser note sighter I had to move the rear sight as far as it would go to the right just to come close to the bullseye. This proved out when actually firing the pistol as it shot severely to the left until adjusted alll the way to the right. Hopefully they can figure it out. Bad thing is their turnaround is 5 to 7 weeks. :(. I should have tried to return it and bought another.

1 year agoI was finally able to get to the range and put about 150 rounds through this revolver, and I'm very pleased. Love the composite grip which fits my hand perfectly and does a tremendous job of absorbing recoil. Shooting 38 special and +P rounds was a joy, no uncomfortable muzzle flip or recoil. My experience makes me optimistic I will be able to feed it .357 shells with minimal discomfort, if I choose, even with the smaller 3 inch barrel. Smooth trigger pull in Double or Single action.

1 year agoVery comfortable shooter. The grumpy RSO’s at my range said I’d never get good groups and I wouldn’t like .357 out of a 3 inch, now I can regularly punch out the center of the target and love shooting the magnums more than .38.
