i'll try submitting this review again because guns.com didn't post my last one even though i verified my email for the review. I gave it a lube before first outing and tried a few brands of mags (SA, staccato, and atlas) and few types of ammo. First 120 rounds or so were a nightmare - multiple FTE, FT (several times didn't go into battery), locked...Read More Read more about review stating prodigy - just meh

The Prodigy is exactly what I expected. The grip fits my hand perfectly. The recoil is minimal and smooth. This gun was put thru its paces with fmj ammo and hollow points and it shot great. The action is that of a competition style handgun.I may be bias as I have Springfield carry gun,but once again Springfield DID NOT disappoint.

Shoots well when it actually wants to run without a malfunction. These guns have become notorious for failure to feed issues. Mine went back to Springfield already to be fixed. Springfield would not give a reason for the issue. Some say it’s the recoil spring, but others have said it’s not. Nobody truly knows. Super tight fitting gun, feels good w...Read More Read more about review stating Hold off on buying

Shoots great, accurate and has low recoil. Great action might need different mags because of FTF. But overall a great gun.

Shoots and feels great with the exception of a few mis-feeds. Kind of annoying when my less expensive Glock’s don’t EVER mis-feed.. The gun itself is beautiful, I hope I can figure out how to get rid of the mis-feeds all together. I’ve seen the same problem on multiple videos during my research.

So I wanted the Staccato lol but the price tag ran me away. So I looked into the DS Prodigy. Don’t get me wrong this wasn’t a replacement because I’m a huge Springfield fan. Once I received this beautiful piece, I immediately put 500rds through it. Start out the box I did have about 5 failure to feeds. Not bad at all right out of the box. Highly r...Read More Read more about review stating Great gun

Just picked up my Prodigy from my FFL yesterday. I placed my order late Friday, and was at the FFL on Wednesday early afternoon. Very impressed with the fast processing and delivery. Have not fired the pistol yet, but fit, finish, and function is excellent. All moving parts are smoothing, slide is not hanging up in the disconnector as some have me...Read More Read more about review stating Just picked up my Prodigy

As always shipping to my FFL was quick and easy. Once I got it home, I looked it over and realized it was having some of the issues that others have mentioned. I immediately contacted Springfield and they had me send it in Web and they would make it a pro priority. Send it in with no cost to me nine days later, I had it back and the gun runs flawl...Read More Read more about review stating As always shipping to my

I gave this rate due to a couple of things, on my first day at the range I had 3 failure to feeds with my 17 rd magazine. I thought to myself well it is a new gun it may happen. However the following week I went and only shoot with the 20rd mag and my very 1st round failed to feed. I had better luck with the 20rd mag. I did call Springfield Armory...Read More Read more about review stating I gave this rate due

Less then 50 rounds down range, it was failing to feed. Around 100 rounds later. I had to manually feed the rounds. Great shooter but need some tuning done. Especially at its price point.

Great pistol! Everything I expected and more. I am kind of addicted to shooting it. Afraid my ammo budget is going to have to increase. Found a good holster at JB Holster Mods also.

I love this gun. This is exactly what I was looking for, it wants to shoot fast. The only thing I recommend is polishing the feed ramp and chamber.

This is my new favorite pistol. I’ve shot just over 2,000 rounds in the past month through my 4.25” Prodigy with zero malfunctions although I spent an hour cleaning, racking then cleaning again to get all the access Cerakote removed before shooting. The Prodigy is surprisingly accurate and I would definitely recommend to anyone. The only issue I’ve come across is the RMR plate has come loose twice now. Both times with blue loctite and proper torque. Going to use red loctite this time around and hopefully that resolves the issue.

Accurate, but not dependable out of the box!! 1st 50rds was terrible several failures to feed. After cleaning all the ceramic gunk out from the coating wearing off the next 100rds were iffy. 2nd cleaning same as the 1st more gunk. Now after 5 cleanings, polishing the feed ramp and 600rds the pistol functions flawlessly. 100% satisfied

A solid firearm! First time owning a 1911-style firearm in a long time. I broke it in before heading to the range by racking the slides until it felt "gummy". Then cleaned it and repeat again for a few more times. No recoil at the range! It's like glass sliding on glass! I'm glad I got this at the store. It's a MUST-HAVE!

First let me say I have many pistols including 2 Wilson Combats. The Prodigy is a great pistol for $1,500. It shoots straight and is a very accurate pistol. For this review.... you should know that I have many great pistols as shooting is my main hobby. I have a WC EDCX9 which is the finest pistol ever made so I know quality. The Prodigy is the closest you can get to a WC without spending $3,000. You can buy 2 Prodigy for the price of one EDCX9. For an expert shooter that wants great accuracy

It feels amazing in my hand, good quality. I paired it with the dragon fly Hex red dot, smooth and accurate.

I have always wanted a 1911 model and this one fills my desire even more being that it is a double stack that holds more than 8 rounds. So far I have only run about three hundred rounds but found it easy to shoot and accurate. Love the front glow sight and large rear. Take down is a little different but not difficult. I don't have that much experience with guns but I love shooting this one. One con is that it is very hard to find magazines in my state because of the high capacity.

I reviewed the Prodigy some time ago, you can find that review if interested. I love the 9mm and with the right ammo, its VERY effective. Don't take my word, see for yourself what you can do with the Prodigy and good ammo.
