From 1959 to 1970 the M14 served with distinction as the standard issue rifle of the United States military. When Springfield Armory® in Geneseo, IL made the civilian legal variant – the M1A™ – available to the public in 1974, shooters were finally able to enjoy the same rifle that so many servicemen had utilized in the past.
The Standard Series is a faithful semi-auto only recreation of the original M14. Keep in mind that the Standard M1A™ is as well suited for a day at the range as it is for filling that special place in your military collection. All the design features that the Armed Services found essential for a battle rifle make the Standard M1A™ a great shooter. The windage and elevation adjustable rear sight minimizes the effort required to zero the rifle. The two-stage military trigger, detachable box magazine, op-rod and roller cam bolt call to mind the rich history of the M1A™ while providing functional ease of operation and legendary reliability.
You may be looking for a special addition to your collection, or you may be looking for a hard-working rifle that will pull duty on the range, in the treestand or in your truck. The Standard M1A™ is ready for its next mission.

1 year agoI used this rifle when I was in the service, to this day it is still the best Military Rifle out there, extremely reliable and deadly accurate in my book anyway. I participated in the Gear Up program that is the Promo from Springfield Armory, I must say their Customer Service Dept is fantastic!

1 year agoI ordered this rifle back before Christmas. It is a beautiful rifle. Finally got out it today, thru some handloads together and it was very accurate. Very happy camper here. Thanks PSA

1 year agoI have this great rifle. Had it for years. Went through basic training with one. If you buy this rifle and want a scope mount mounted on it please have the manufacturer install it. It is well worth the cost. It will save you a lot of aggravation.

1 year agoOrdered and received 4 days later. My wife said “really!” Add to 1903-M1 garand, now M1a. Put a battle zero on till I get my promo scope mount. Sweet I deal even my ffl was impressed. And yes dear “really!”

1 year agoI love this rifle...had it for about a month, shoots great... when you look at it from the back looking down at the back of the receiver, on the left side they have rounded to much off the stock and the receiver actually overhangs the stock.. i sent just the stock back, Fed Ex'd it and they got it 2 days later.. i am waiting for the replacement now.. if all goes well i would give it 5 stars ...i received the 2 free 20 round mags and the scope mount within a week of filling out the requested promo paper work..

1 year agoThis is a very solid rifle. Have put 50 rounds through it so far but no problems at all. Very manageable recoil. Hitting plates at 100 yards right out of the soft case. Would recommend to anybody especially for the sale price.

1 year agoReceived a few weeks ago, great weapon. Came in Springfield Armory Soft case with operation manual, for civilians and even a Technical Manual (TM) for us old military guys. High quality and vey accurate with low recoil. Got my scope mount and free magazines in a timely manner. Very pleased with Springfield and Palmetto State Armory.

1 year agoThis is a really fine semi auto rifle! I have this one and a SOCOM version. Neither fail to impress me every time I take them to the range. If you are looking for a nice 308 - this one will make you happy!

1 year agoThis rifle is a pleasure to shoot. It is rock solid and feels like a rifle should when pounding brass. I love to just shoot unassisted at cans and bricks. Let me know when you have some ammo for sale, I'm out!

1 year agoNice out of the box experience. Went to sight it in, bottomed out the rear sight, went up 8 clicks and was on the 12" gong at 100 yards. The only couple things that sucks is the metal they use for the rear sight adjustment screw is very soft. It actually was bent slightly right out of the box where the common screwdriver blade would turn it. When I tried to adjust the sights I found you have to be VERY careful not to further strip the top of the screws. I just hope the rest of the metal is

1 year agoThe M1A rifle is living up to my expectations. The iron sight system is accurate out to the end of my vision range about 250 yards. I was able to shoot 2.5 in groups consistently at 250 yards each day at the range

1 year agoI can’t say enough about this rifle! It has been on my list since I was little and after finally having one I don’t know why I waited so long. I thought about a NM for awhile, as well as other upscale models, and finally settled on the “standard” when I saw this sale. I don’t know if I just got lucky or not but this thing shoots!! On an SR1 target with MEN ammo I can keep them all in the 10 with ease and the last outing I put my first two rounds right through the X. Loaded some federal GM 175’s

1 year agoPSA delivered fast at a great price. The rifle came in a nice case with a copy of the original military guide, the wood furniture was beautiful, and had a nice fit. The gun however wouldn't cycle on it's own, there is an issue with the gas system out of the box. I field stripped and cleaned the rifle, then oiled it without finding an obvious issue. I then tried sticking an 1/8" allen through the gas block and the barrel (recommended way to check the M1A gas system), but found it wouldn't go

1 year agoBe aware, the M1A is not nearly as practically designed as the AR platform. It takes some practice and manhandling to be able to use it comfortably. When you do, it’s an accurate and solid weapon. The recoil is stout but very manageable. The receiver in mine was slightly offset in the stock, but apparently this is a common issue and does not affect performance at all.

1 year agoAwesome looker. Heavy as a beast. Love it. Haven't fired it.yet. Might never. Still has the tags on it. Investment.

1 year agoOne of the finest rifles . I purchased it for my daddy who had an M14 in basic and was issued one in Vietnam For certain tasks he was trained to carry out. He said it was the first time he had held something that similar even with the absence of the scope. Beautiful walnut stock , Excellent craftsmanship , accuracy . Worth every penny. Comes with a nice soft shell case and a military Manuel as well which was an extra bonus for this M1A.
Good value for the money
1 year agoI couldn’t be happier with my M1A. It was delivered on time (Christmas present to myself after waiting 50 years to get one). The fit and finish was great and it functioned flawlessly. I own a couple M1 Garands and field stripping will be very familiar to anyone who transitions to the M1A. Very happy customer!

1 year agoLooks great, fit and finish were good, came with a nice bag, beautiful wood. I've always wanted a real M1A from Springfield since I was a kid. Got a great price, but... Took it to the range and found it extremely unreliable. Swapped mags, tried different ammo, but I still get about 5 or 6 misfires per mag. Next time I took my Norinco M14 and my L1A1 with me. Every round that failed to shoot in the Springfield fired on the first try using these other rifles. Don't really know what to do with this rifle at this point.
