This was my first gun I've purchased, and I am very, very impressed. Its very durable, and has a sleek look to it. Easy to clean, maintain, and take apart. With the handle and trigger safety, it is near impossible to misfire. All in all this has been a great purchase for me and definitely wont be my last.

Aesthetically pleasing, light, very easy to use and field strip. Also, comes with decent accessories, not that they are the best but think of how many firearms don't come with anything. Overall love the gun. Haven't shot it a ton to confidently talk about the accuracy but so far is very consistent with groupings.

I got this gun as a gift and i couldn't be happier. The gun is not heavy at all and shoots very well. I haven't put a ton of rounds through it yet but the rounds i have shot have gone through without a hitch. the guns feels great in my hands. I also have yet to hear anything bad about this gun the lifetime warranty doesn't hurt either.

Shoots great. Nice no frills design. Easy accusition white dot adjustable sights. Holds 12 rounds and has plenty of knock down power. Recoil is not bad. Was putting down some nice groups straight out of the box.

Everything about this gun is great. As my first firearm, I had done a lot of research and then took it on my NRA Basic Practical course. The VERY experienced instructor decided to buy himself the same model after firing and handling this gun. I bought the XD-9 for HD and plinking and it is a joy. Never misfires. Easy to field strip but my wife finds the slide a little stiff to pull back. But for me - perfect!

Fantastic first gun! Very pleased! Its very easy to use, simple to clean and learn how to handle. Fired about 500 through it so far and no problems at all. I researched a few guns at this level and I would certainly recommend this gun.

this was my 2nd purchase and its by far a great one, first was fn herstal fnp 40 and had several jams and issues only thru 500 rds and with the xd not a hicup thru 750+. its been drastically more accurate and feel in the hand much better as well. You cannot go wrong at all with this firearm and also has safeties and came with holster, loader, and mag holster.

I went to a Front Sight defensive hand gun course a year ago. They used the Springfield XD 9mm as their training gun. I decided to get one for myself. I returned to a four-day definsive hand gun course with my own gun. It worked great for four days of intensive shooting. I had to rig a misfire. It didn't misfire on its own until the last day. Now I have a target on our Iand and it is the easiest gun for me to hit the target. I recommend this for women who have not been shooting long. I have an XD subcompact for concealed carry. It is harder to rack than the regular four inch barrel, but it is still a good one for me.

Awesome handgun with plenty of power. No fancy bells and whistles, just straightforward and smooth action. White dot sights are easy on the eyes. Gun shoots comparable groups straight from the box. No complaints here.

I recently purchased this Springfield Armory XD 4" I took it to a firing range and loved it from the first round fired to the last. The recoil is minimal which I like the liked the sights. This is a accurate pistol from 25 yards I would recommend this pistol to any one looking for a 45 caliber semi auto weapon.

i own this xd9 and the xdm 9, also the s&W m&p pro, and with that being said i compared performance between the guns and the xd9 perform as good and flawless, isnt a competition gun but is very accurate, predictable recoil and it just perform very good. i recommend this for all kind of shooting.. btw over 2 thousand round with no one malfunction..

I've had the XD9 Service now for ~ 6 months. I enjoyed shooting it the first time and every time since. I have about 800 rounds downrange so far and no FTF or FTEs. I've run ever kind of ammo through it and it is not picky. With the recent ammo scarcity in 9 mm you don't want a finicky gun. This is a good working class gun. The value is out of sight for what you'll spend. Reiable, accurate, shoots and shoots and comes back for more. You might have more expensive guns but I suspect you'll view this one like you do your favorite pair of jeans. It just fits right and works right.

This was the firsts pistol I had purchased and it is a great one. Very easy to clean and maintain but most importantly it is a great gun to shoot. Extremely accurate, and very comfortable to shoot. Do yourself a favor and buy this.

This was my first and will be my only purchase of a Springfield Armory (SA) item. This 9mm has been nothing but trouble. Immediately one of the magazines was defective and had to ship to SA. Then Winchester ammo was hitting target 3 to 4" left of bullseye at 7 yds. Rear sight is not adjustable by owner since it is machine pressed in, and there is nothing in the manual about adjusting the sight. Had to ship firearm to SA and they reduced the distance but not in the bullseye (they sent me their target). Found out on-line that the sight being off and firing to the left is a common problem. The white painted dot on the front sight also vanished sometime during first use. Wrote an e-mail to SA sales about the quality issues a few weeks ago but still have not heard a peep from the Company. Guess I hit a bullseye.

As you know this pistol has had many years of reviews. So I will keep it simple. You get a modern combat pistol for a great price. You get an accessory package for free. So you get a belt holster, 2 mag carrier, & a mag loader. Good quality, and saves you $ off the bat. The chamber indicator is great. The striker indicator is also awesome. Yes we are not suppose to rely on them, but they are great to have. My opinion: levels better than a Glock. Lets me shoot a bit faster. So when you use your Glock you will notice it. The Glock's muzzle will be slightly higher after you draw. After a few hundred rounds (pre-2012 mind you) my finger would get a little sore from the trigger safety.

This thing is sweet. I was originally going to buy a Glock 19 because the first gun I ever shot was a Glock 23 and I was quite comfortable shooting one and like the size of it, I just wanted to get a 9mm. However, my boss offered me a deal on this XD that I couldn't refuse, and boy I'm glad he did. This XD was already heavily used with 1000+ rounds through it 500 or so were +P and I know I've put another 1000+ through it about 200 of them +P loads The only failure I had was a few Failure to Ejects and that was when using the aftermarket spring my boss had in it, since then I switched to the factory spring and it shoots like a dream. This thing is a natural pointer, meaning if your gripping it the way your supposed to, when you lift it and point it at center mass of a silhouette target 15 feet down range without taking the time to line up your sights, all 15 rounds land center of mass. That's something I couldn't do with my Brother-in-Laws G23. Double taps are easy to get the hang of too with this gun (I attribute that to the natural point). I also love the takedown lever, much better than the other offerings out there from "the big three". For me at least its much easier and less cumbersome. It's not all good though. As with all polymer pistols, I struggled with the grip feeling slippery during extended range periods, or if my hands were dry, or if they had lotion on them(my hands get ashy), or if my palms were sweaty, so I slapped on some sandpaper like grips and everything was fixed. Another thing would be the trigger, which isn't even bad as mine has been broken in quite a bit but it does have some take up in it. Meaning you can pull the trigger a good 1/4 inch before reaching the trigger break. Which isn't entirely a bad thing since I use it as a set, before steadying my aim and finishing the pull. Overall, I would recommend this gun to anyone in the market for a polymer bottom feeder, because really "the big three" S&W, Glock, and Springfield all have great offerings and it comes down to preference, but I wouldn't discount the XD in anyway compared to those others as they too have some "personality traits" you might just not like.
