There are some tools so basic, you can’t imagine being without them. But even essential tools can be refined and improved. That’s the principle behind the new XD-E: the best elements of the world-renowned XD Series, condensed into a weapon so intuitive, comfortable and accurate, you can’t imagine being without it.

The 9mm XD-E model sculpts Point & Shoot Ergonomics into a sleek polymer frame just an inch wide, for ideal hand and holster fit satisfying you’ll take it everywhere. The Low Effort Slide (L.E.S.) requires 27% less effort to manipulate compared to striker-fired handguns in the same class. Chambering a round has never been easier thanks to the hammer design, resulting in far fewer slipped pulls, and quicker, possibly life-saving operation when it counts. The exposed hammer clearly shows gun mode, and the single/double action trigger shows respect for your shooting style, unlike other compacts.

Then there’s the grip: GripZone provides active texture that matches your grasp like a handshake, improves stability, and feels incredible. Three magazine options let you personalize concealability and capacity. Impeccable feel, weight and balance launch the XD-E from invisible to impactful in an instant, for go-anywhere confidence unlike any you’ve felt.

New shooter or skilled gunner, wrap your mitt around the new XD-E™ and you’ll know. This is more than a hammer. It redefines what your hammer should be.

Palmetto State Armory has the best selection of Springfield Armory firearms including the New XDE!

On the recommendation of another "retailer" that said it was comparable in size to the LC9 but was out of stock. I purchased this online to take advantage of the sale price & rebates. We already own a Springfield XD & are very happy with it. When we went to pick it up at our local Cabelas, my husband & I were suprised by how much larger than an LC9 it was. it is a very nice gun, I liked every thing about it but the size. Since it was for my CC use, it was just too big. If your looking for a pocket-sized gun or a woman wanting CÇ then I think you will find this gun too big. The salesman was very patient and helpful as I looked again for something smaller. I settled on the Sig 938 and am very happy with it. It is no small task to "return" a gun and then purchase another. Cabelas staff was very professional & never seemed put out by all of the extra paperwork.

If you prefer SA/DA hammer-fired pistols over striker-fired, this is a solid single-stack option for concealed carry. It is comfortable to shoot and very accurate at the range, and after 500+ rounds I've had no ammo malfunctions. The slide is easy to rack as advertised. And although I'm a tall guy (6' 4"), this gun still feels pretty good in my hands (but not as good as a full-size or a double-stack pistol). Most compact pistols are too small in my hand because my pinky falls off the grip, but the pinky extension on the 8 round mag works VERY well. The 9 round mag feels even better. Good job to Springfield Armory for a great new pistol.

The Springfield Armory.45 caliber XD-E is "da bomb"... So far I've run about 200 rounds of Federal 230 grain .45 ACP and just for kicks run 25 rounds of Hornady Hollow Point 185 grain with not the slightest hiccup. This firearm fires true with a crisp trigger pull and far less recoil than what I was expecting. It racks with minimal effort and the DA/SA aspect makes this a safe sidearm to carry as well as being...so far...extremely dependable. If I had any negative to report, it would NOT be regarding the actual weapon itself but rather the fact that the choice of holsters available is very limited. I understand that the XD-E being a relatively new model for Springfield Armory probably needs to prove its worth before a multitude of holster manufacturers will invest in a variety of molds and holstering mechanisms. That being said and with my experience of this weapon, it should be a short time coming...

First, just a nice handgun, easy conceal carry weapon. Granted, it only has a 6 bullet mag, but most of us aren't planning on being in a firefight! It comes with both a soft and hard case, mine came with seven (7) magazines, plus a hard holster and two mag holder. Great buy IMO.

There is NO grip safety on this pistol as claimed in the description! I know because I own one and bought it for the hammer and safety lever. I also own an XD-S and it does hane a grip safety!!

Size, weight and feel is good but the sights are for day time shooters only and the trigger on DA is like using a staple gun. SA is ok, not as clean and crisp as my Colt but with some work will be fine.

I bought my XD-E 45 a month ago for a birthday present to myself. I was in love with it from day one out of the box. For years I've been looking for a compact version of FNH's FNX-45. This pistol is as close as you can get. The functionality is exactly the same as my fnx45; ambidextrous safety/decocker and magazine release. It feels amazing in my hands and easier to conceal than a Full-size pistol ,very light weight . I'm considering buying another in 9mm

Great hammer fired concealed pistol. Easy to conceal and shoots accurately. Moderately heavy trigger pull with the hammer both cocked or uncocked but not unmanageable. Smooth action and trigger. Run it with the hammer back and the safety on or hammer downed ready to pull. The de-cocker work perfect. Great little pistol.

Wanted DA/SA with decocker/safety. 2nd Springfield Armory pistol and so far flawless after about 150 rounds. Short barrel is a bit snappy (9 mm). Small enough for concealed carry inside waistband, but probably little large to be considered a "pocket pistol".

Bought this a month ago and been loving it ever since. I am a Springfield person because they have never let me down. This pistol is no different in that regard. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my favorite gun manufacturer was making a hammer fired SA & DA pistol so I jumped on it. I have a Hellcat and a 911 as well but I have to say, this one is nicer than both of those. The decocker is a dream and felt recoil is almost nil. Shoots right on the money, Just amazing accuracy. If you buy this, you may just put your 1911's away for good, that's how nice this is.

Not to be to technical. This firearm is exactly what I was looking for. It fits perfectly in my xxl sized hand. It conceals perfectly. It shoots smooth and evenly. It is comfortable in my muddy river tactical iwb holster. Grab one if you can.

It's a bit larger than I anticipated, and the double action is lengthy. The single action is great, has a perfect trigger pull. Over all this is a fine pistol, I gave 4 stars due to the double action difficulty. I now carry the XD-E instead of my 4" 1911.

I lot of folks get sold a hazardous Stricker firearm, because they do not know better. We, old fox know better. I regret the product was discontinued, and so happy to find one each at Guns.com.

I purchased this pistol thru Guns.com and could not be happier with the process and timeliness of shipment. As for the pistol itself I was aware of all the features the pistol provides and they offer everything I want in a compact pistol. I give it a 4 stars rating for two reasons. First and foremost is the stock trigger, which has way t...Read More Read more about review stating Springfield Armory XD-E

This is my second XDE, my first one was stolen from my truck. Love this hand gun, shoots well, love that its single/double hammer fired. I am not a big fan of pin fired handguns, the ergonomics are great, fits really well in my hand. All around great handgun.

I love the gun, however, the picture clearly shows a hard case comes with the gun and that is not what I received. I received a soft case. I notified Palmetto and Springfield and no help was given. So just be aware that you do not get a hard case anymore. FALSE ADVERTISING!

I bought the XDE for myself after buying a Walther PP2 for my wife earlier this year. I knew as soon as I held the XDE and easily racked the slide back that she would prefer this over her PP2 which I’d chosen because of how many positive reviews it had for being a ladies handgun. I was right. As soon as she shot it she asked if I’d be offended if she wanted the XDE over the PP2. What could I say? I’ve been wanting her to enjoy shooting so I took the PP2 (also a fantastic single-stack 9mm) as

Excellent pistol. It's not the prettiest, but it's accurate and reliable. I am always searching for a DA/SA to carry appendix, and this is the most comfortable as it's only an inch thick. I've owned 2 and they've both been 100% reliable thru 1000's of rounds. Highly recommended if you can find one.
