Stevens has made its 555 over-and-under line even more versatile with the 555 Compact. The stylish shotgun has a mid-length fore-end and a compact, 13-1/4 inches length-of-pull, making it perfect for smaller-framed shooters. Like the original 555, it features a light aluminum receiver that’s scaled to gauge. A steel insert reinforces the breech, minimizing weight and maximizing strength. The 555 Compact sports a Turkish walnut stock and fore-end, shell extractors, a manual safety, and a single, selective mechanical trigger – all at a superb price. Five interchangeable choke tubes allow the fast-handling gun to meet any shooting need.

1 year agoThe gun quit firing after the first 1/2 box of shells. The gun will not fire unless turned upside down. It has been sent back to the manufacturer for a warranty claim

1 year agoGood fit and finish for the price. Slight challenge to reassemble after breaking, but likely better with use. Works for a smaller women, but too short for an average male.

1 year agoHowever at only 5 pounds I would suggest a good recoil pad. Action out of the box is very stiff but is starting to loosen up. Overall happy with purchase.

1 year agoI ordered online and Sportsman’s Warehouse got it to the store quickly. We took it out last weekend and put 100 rounds through it. Just one issue where the safety wouldn't disengage and wouldn’t fire, causing me to lose two clays. Hopefully it breaks in and doesn’t happen again.

1 year agoThis is a very nice size shotgun for a compact to get started with. It is by far better than a 410 for power and perfect size for a smaller person.

1 year agoThis is an awesome shotgun. For the price an excellent buy. Had to have the comb taken down to adjust the fit. I also had sling swivels installed. Used for Cotton Tails. Very Light, maneuverable and perfect for what it’s used for. The 28ga is an all around best choice for rabbits. This would also be excellent for a new shooter! It was well worth the additional investment to have the modifications done!

1 year agoThe shotgun performs well. It’s definitely too small for a normal size adult. It’s nice for smaller persons. It fits my wife well. She will be using it for a quail hunt soon. Fit and finish are good. Checkering is pleasant. Came in a simple cardboard box.
