1 year agoPurchased as a back up weapon to be worn on the ankle. Cery light weight, good grip, love the gun. Would highly recommeNd.

1 year agoPrice was right. (SWEETENED by sale pricing & taurus rebate). RELIABLITY, readiness -- & SAFE heavy trigger -- of a revolver. Yet LIGHT & compact. Carries as easily as my s&W 442, but with a sixth ROUND! (and I prefer this GRIP to [STOCK] 442.) So Its Currently my FAVORITE POCKET-CARRY gun.

1 year agoNice, light weight small J-Frame size revolver, but with 6 rounds. Shoots great, no problems whatsoever after 200 rounds through it.

1 year agoThe 856 has been a decent gun for the price. The action is a little rough, with the cylinder not rotating consistently for each chamber, causing different degrees of cylinder latch engagement. The trigger is also very heavy and gritty. It’s been reliable, and comfortable to carry, just not refined. I’m waiting on TK customs to fix their updated firing pin so I can try their spring kit. If that doesn’t fix the trigger/timing issues, I’ll likely be sending it back to Taurus for an inspection to fix it.

1 year agoI already had the exposed hammer version. Kind of cool to have both. I’ve added the laser grip to match the other one. Fits nicely in my pocket a holster IWB or OWB.

1 year agoThis is my fifth Taurus 856. I wanted the ultralight snubby with the bobbed hammer for easier CCW. I've put a couple of hundred rounds through it with no issues. All of my 856's are very accurate. While the three inch defender versions have excellent tritium sights, I have to use a dab of bright orange nail polish for the front sights of the snubbies to help my ancient eyes pick it up. I highly recommend Taurus 856 for good reliable performance at a very reasonable price.

1 year agoGood quality firearm. This is double action only so getting use the the trigger is key. Staging the trigger and aiming just before the hammer drop takes a feel but once you learn how to stage the heavy trigger it will produce accurate shots. It takes some practice but that adds to the fun.

1 year agoA most excellent trigger, very durable, highly concealable. Taurus makes a great revolver here. Six rounds, not five. Iron sights are dead on, and accurate (for me) easily out to 15 yards. Add the laser grip and you have the perfect gun for both home defense and extended CC. Use 38 special SHORT ammo if the recoil is too stout. Nothing beats a rev...Read More Read more about review stating This is the one you want

1 year agoFirst I have to say the purchase process was excellent. Looking forward to making a second one. Second I find this revolver very good quality for the price. I have shot 100 rounds through it and it performed as expected. This revolver is a carry gun, not a comp gun. Point and shoot. I am able to carry it in my shorts pocket or tuck it in my jeans ...Read More Read more about review stating Nice carry piece
