Given the growing penchant for shooters to include micro red dots on their semi-autos-be it for personal defense, recreational shooting, or competition work-Taurus brings the G3 series pistols into the optic arena for 2021 with the release of the full-size G3 T.O.R.O. (Taurus Optic Ready Option). The slides for the T.O.R.O. series feature a factory optic cut so that consumers can immediately add their choice of micro red dot without the expense of custom gunsmith work or “downtime” of their handgun. What’s more, the T.O.R.O. system’s design accommodates a broad range of popular optics on the market today, thanks to an ingenious interchangeable plate mounting system. The G3 continues the proven polymer-frame profile now in a full-frame configuration, with generous stippling patches across the grip for maximum control and retention in any shooting condition, an ergonomic palm swell and side-frame Memory Pads that provide quick, positive hand positioning. The frame has an integrated Picatinny rail. A manual safety and slide release lever are optimally positioned above the thumb for easy manipulation. A refined element of the G3 is the 6 lb trigger, designed with a smooth take-up and a surprisingly crisp, clean break exceeding that of typical striker-fired pistol trigger performance. A short reset promotes quick, controlled follow-up shots. This sighting system now includes a serrated steel rear sight along with a white dot steel front sight.

2 years agotaurus G3 TOro Is a pleasure to shoot. the grip angle is excellent. I apprecIated the blacked out rear sights, it seems to help with faster target acquisition. The grip feels great in the hand and the stippling Is perfeCt. While the trigger is not the best its not terriBle either. Overall the gun looks great, and shoots surprisingly well. The ability to put an optic is awesome. For Being a budget gun Its a good buy, and surprisingly Capable. Would be a 5 star if trigger was better, But For me was not a deal killer.

2 years agoFeels well built, slide feels tight unlike what is normal for a firearm in this price range. Plates in box for many styles of red dots. Extra mags and holsters available through taurus at a decent price. The con, if expecting co-witness even with a micro red dot you'll need raised glock sights. While easy enough to obtain and change; other optic ready pistols are set up in a way that use factory sights with micro red dots.

2 years agoHave several Taurus pistols and this one did not let me down in performance. only thing reason i didn't give it a 5 star was that i did not receive the 4 mounting plates for variuos optics with pistol as stated in description from taurus. guess i have to contact taurus as i cannot mount my optic without the plate. maybe grab a gun can help.

2 years agoHave put 400 rounds through it and it has worked flawlessly…trigger is a bit squishy for my taste but functions as it should and does the job…easy to add whatever optic you choose…easy slide fits great in the hands

2 years agoThis is no doubt this best gun you can get at this price range, can't see any significant difference in this gun and the Glock version that's closest to it . Someone prove me wrong!!

2 years agoIt’s a tad bit more on the heavier side than I thought it would be but it’s still a very nice gun. Came as described, 15 round magazine and 17 round magazine with a mag well along with additional optic plates for mounting. I took it to the range and put 100 rounds through it without any problems. Fun to shoot and comfortable in my hands.

2 years agoHas nice feel to it. Light recoil. No problem with weapon. Advertises 2 clips of 17. Received 1 clip of 17 and one of 15. But that's better than the other review where they only got 1 clip

2 years agoBought this on sale over labor day weekend. Put a vortex venom on it. You have to remove the rear sight when using the vortex to loosen and tighten the locking screws. Shoots great most 5 group shots were 2.5 inches or less at 50ft (17yds). Using reloads from115 grain, 124 grain, 135 grain and 147 grain. 124 grain b&b bullets also hovered about an inch. Trigger is ok better than a glock or m&p 1st gen and xdm.

2 years agoUnbeatable price for a reliable and sleek looking weapon. Optics cut plus rail for tac light is not easy to find for a weapon under $500. 17 rd mags is awesome, mag release is easy, factory trigger break is also smooth. This is a solid piece for an entry level to intermediate shooter that won’t break the bank, especially drilling in the concept of the safety lever is important for new shooters. The Streamlight TLR-7A taclight and Vortex Venom red dot fit the Taurus G3 beautifully. Caveat is
