1 year agoExcellent gun for what it is, it's a basic "rent a cop" special, fixed sight service .38. The action is heavy and it's not especially tack driving accurate but probably due to the 10 lb + double action pull. Mine was tight, goes bang every time, for $350 you can't go wrong. Don't expect a Ruger or S&W, but it is a solid gun. I own S&W and Ruger revolvers, and the Taurus 82 is still a good range gun and trainer. For half the price of the "name brands" you get a lot of gun for the money.

1 year agoTaurus 82 38SPL 4-inch BL Fixed Sights 6rd is an excellent choice for self defense. I do not want some firearm “to good to use”. If it’s “too good to use” you will not carry it with you every day and it will just sit in an arms locker. This handgun has a dull black finish and is not lustrous blue. So what? That’s what you want when you are closing up shop late at night. An attacker will not see it in your hand. Also if it gets scratched or slightly marred by use you won’t get freaked out. 1 year agoI got a couple of these to hide around the house (plus a Tarus Judge). It's nothing fancy but I'm not looking for fancy. The finish is perfect for what I needed. The last thing I want an intruder to see is some flashy chrome gun coming up his way. At night you can't even tell I'm holding this gun. The barrel is nicely heavy so the recoil is very nice.

1 year agoThis gun is made for a man. I'm sure it's a wonderful firearm, but it is really heavy and the grip is really big & designed for a man's hand. I am not a small woman at all, and I couldn't quite get my fingers wrapped around it to get a good grip on the handle. Also, the weight is a little too heavy for me & I'm just not comfortable handling this gun. I'm worried that I may sprain my wrist firing it. I feel that this was a good investment, and I'm sure one of the men in my life will appreciate it, I just need to keep shopping.

1 year agoJust as good as my 79 model of old. The grips are different . Handles well when shooting. No complaints here.

1 year agoThe finish was actually a matt black finish rather than blue and a little more coarse textured than I expected but evenly covered. Grips are comfortable for my hand and it is a good looking revolver. When the cylinder is open it spins roughly but I expect it to smooth out with use. Double action pull through is very heavy. I do not have a trigger gauge to to measure the pull through weight but the double and single action pulls are much heavier than any of the other double action … Read More

1 year agoThis is an excellent firearm for those just starting out in security. Its 4 and half inch heavy barrel; I put an adjustable rear sight on my because it was also used for competition shooting events for which I won many events.
